I have both scansnap and neat. Scansnap is much faster, but it would destroy delicate receipts that neat scans pretty well. Scansnap software is less sofisticated as far as making data bases. But character recognition for PDF is a little better, I think. I read that ScanSnap Evernote edition has much better software, but it is pretty expensive. If I did not have problem with money I would most probably buy ScanSnap Evernote.

I also have the portable unit which is less practical if you scan a lot. This one just works. If you want to get rid of all the paper, this is the way to go, especially at the discounted price.

This is a great scanner . It can scan both sides of a sheet quickly, The software that build a database for the documents takes sometime to analyze the scan bills, statements receipts etc.. You can associate additional key words in the comment area to each document. Bought mine recondition and looks new and no problems. Saved BIG $$$$.

The value is amazing since I was able to get this refurbished product at a steep discount. Scanning receipts works great along with documents and other items like business cards.

Best way around to scan odd sized and shaped stuff. Ideal for receipts required for tax purposes.

I purchased my own early this year and I love it! I just purchased one for my dad. It will work well for him in business. I highly recommend purchasing from Best Buy versus purchasing the equipment directly from the company. The customer experience is great and you have the opportunity to purchase the Best Buy Protection Plan.

This is the refurbished model. I saved $100 off the original price. When I opened the box it looked brand new. Well worth purchasing this way.

Quick set up and easy to use. Makes job costing a breeze

....but bought any way as it was on sale. Gift for my mother (not technologically saavy, but not a dunce either. Once we got going, it was fine - it was just the getting there part that we had difficulty. She got so frustrated, she was in tears. It took me over an 30 minutes to figure out how to get her set up (technological know-how - moderate to advanced). Keep in mind when buying this product.

Scanner works well. Software was easy to use and is a good for simple organization. The software doesn't collect complex information and sometimes doesn't find information on the forms. The software makes it easy to enter by hand. If you really want to track your forms and you're not organized this could be helpful.

Considered getting this Neat Desk scanner for a while, but always put it off. I'm so glad I finally got it. Scanning is quick and easy. Setting up files and accounts takes some planning, but that's to be expected. This has made my paperwork much more manageable.

I have had this idea in my mind about a small, quality scanner with a very user friendly software that is also online. And this is it! Very happy with it and my desk is always clean and organized

Great Product easy to use. Has so much potential. I downloaded the owners manual. There is so many application you can use this product for. Having fun learning to use its full potential.

Been needing to get less paper in my life. This works great! The double sided scanning saves a huge amount of time.

Thanks Best Buy for making this affordable. My only complaint is that I have an Apple computer and it didn't come with a disc for it but the customer service rep was very helpful in getting me setup. I'm not very computer smart so getting it to work was difficult for me.

I would purchase this item again. I was hoping it would more fully integrate with my office network. It works great on the computer that it is linked too.

Good tool to organize all the paperwork at home. It is user friendly and allows you to customize your folders and documents information.

I have used several scanners in the past, and am still searching for one that's reasonably fast. I thought I would give this one a try. The scanner portion is pretty fast, but when you add in the time it takes to process the scan, it's a pretty slow process. I need to check the settings, but I believe the scanned file is proprietary to the software and you have to print it out to another format in order to view outside of the neat program. It's not a solution for me in regards to being quick, but it does work.
