I am a huge Rage fan, as well as a fan of both Public Enemy and Cypress Hill. I was super excited about Prophets of Rage when I heard it was happening. I have been pretty disappointed with their stuff so far. Their eponymous song is the highlight of their work so far. Everything else, including their new album, has fallen short. Prophets of Rage's EP is great--you've got all those who play instruments in Rage Against the Machine +Chuck D of Public Enemy and B Real from Cypress Hill...honestly I should be able to just leave it at that, but I'll add a few more things to this review. The first 2 tracks are unfortunately the only completely new material on this album, so it's a good thing they're both solid. The eponymous opening track is my favorite of the 2 though "The Party's Over"(Track 2) is great as both a song and political statement...something Rage and Chuck D have never shy about incorporating into their music by any stretch. The following 3 are all live recordings and serve to somewhat mash-up Rage songs with some PE as well, though they're primarily Rage reboots with this new-look lineup. Though Zack De la Rocha (former Rage frontman) has been working on solo stuff to release, if you're looking to hear RATMachine then this is where you'll find em--it's unmistakable in the sound of the 2 new releases on this EP, no surprise in the least here but honestly that's exactly what I'd hoped for. Lead guitarist Tom Morello said he'd really wanted to go ahead and put some new material out to accompany their current tour, which is why we were only given this brief glimpse of their cohesiveness and collective talent. However more original music from the group is said to be coming in the not-too-distant future, and this first taste is a sign that the distinctive Rage sound will clearly be perpetuated and on display once again, though this time around with an alternate legendary frontman (sorry B Real but Chuck D is captain here until proven otherwise). Enjoy and keep your ear to the ground for whatever they end up releasing next, because if this is what they do on little-to-no notice, I imagine they'll REALLY put something hot together once they'll have had plenty of time on the road together to mesh for real!

Nice ep really brings out some amazing collaborations.

This album is essentially a promotion for the Prophets of Rage tour and it really delivers as a primer to a great concert experience. The price is right and the sound quality is good. There is no lull in the performance, just straight rock, rap, and rage! I was particularly impressed with B. Real's delivery of some of Zack's lyrics. Not the same, but definitely faithful and respectful. I highly encourage you to see this tour if given the chance. High energy all the way, bits of every piece of Rage, Public Enemy, and Cyprus Hill that you would want.

Since I am a fan of all these bands that have combined into one project and rage against the machine isn't touring or recording this is the next best thing. And since I didn't get out to see the summer tour these live tracks are wonderful!

If you're a fan of Public Enemy, Rage Against The Machine, and Cypress Hill, I would recommend checking out this CD. Unfortunately, with all this talent, there's only 5 songs on the CD. But still, a good and fun listen.

This CD is great. It combines those great Rage guitar songs with the lyrics of the great rappers of my youth. When I found out this was distributed to stores I got it immediately. Be warned - 5 songs!

Good CD. It's good to hear Rage Against the Machine together again. Sounds like the old Rage. Can't wait to to hear more tracks frim The Prophets of Rage.

not sure how much staying power this band will have but this is a nice little EP that shows off all the talents of the bands represented

A good biting blending of Music by members of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave With members of Cypress Hill and Public Enemy to create and revive songs about Revolutionary Protest and Rage to Confront People about OUR Reality!

Nice mix of RATM and some classic rap artists. A full length album will be nice in the future.

I love all of the bands that these guys are from. The collaboration was a success. I love to hear the rock rap collaboration and the band from Rage pulls it off nicely.

My husband loves this, I however do not. He listens to it all the time.

Great band. Great message. Good to see musicians stand up against trump.

Finally, rage n rap. This ep is just what they need to get started

Bought the new CD with high hopes of it being as close to the Old Rage Against the Machine as possible, but while the music quality is there, the lyrical component is not as good as the original. Along with them cancelling the tour at Jones Beach, i'm left a little disappointed.

Know it's not the same as original band but still enjoy this and can't wait for more songs to new released

About the closest it gets to Rage Against the Machine as it gets...........completely awesome!
