The perpetuated lies concerning American involvement in Viet Nan by Presidents Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon, and their exposure by the New York Times and subsequently The Washington Post were the focal points of the film. This saga is not an exposé of the Pentagon Papers but it is a vibrant story of the publishing-event of the late 20th Century in the mid-1960’s. To put this incredible motion-picture in prospective, the Break-In of the Watergate Nat’l. Democratic Headquarters occurred shortly afterwards as did the fall of the Nixon presidency. This moving-picture will touch your moral compass and it will stir the emotions of your state of mind – it is a very powerful screen play

A Tom Hanks & Meryl Streep combo?! Who can say no to that?

I was in college when all of this was taking place...good portrayals by the actors involved...makes you wonder how many cover ups there has been...4K looked pretty good...sound was just ok, but this movie did not need an over the top soundtrack

I can see the political wheels turning to get this movie made quickly as a reaction to the current administration. But I don't care what the reason was. It is a well done piece that keeps up the suspense despite the fact that most of us know the ending and no one is going to get killed or maimed. Spielberg can do no wrong. Even his mediocre movies are very good and this is one of his better efforts with no gimmicks or special effects.

I forgot about what happened back then and so this was was great reminder about the importance of the freedom of the press and how some try to interfere with the process. Didn't think I could take one more Streep ans Hanks movie but they are very good. Streep is truly excellent as usual and portrayed someone w a lot of guts at the time. Definitely worth seeing. Also a great native 4k scan not upscaled.

I think that "The Post" was one of the greatest historical films of all-time and it was also one of my favorite historical films of all-time. I had first seen this film in theaters and I immediately enjoyed it and I also think that "The Post" had a lot of entertaining, exciting and enjoyable drama, mystery and suspense including exciting, amazing and original personal/historical storylines.

what a waste of talent! this film suffers from a simplistic and cliche'd script... looks and sounds great but just a yawn of a film

This film chronicles the difficult decision on the part of the Washington Post to publish top secret documents about the U.S. involvement in Vietnam. The film is well-acted and timely for today's climate with tensions between the government and the press. I was fortunate to find the film on sale (Memorial Day) and paid only about a quarter of the retail price.

Meryl Streep's acting was ok; but nothing to rave about. Tom Hanks was great and the story line was good.

We enjoyed this movie very much at the theater, so we wanted to add it to our own collection of movies. We see fewer and fewer movies at the theater these days due to the preponderance of extremely violent, juvenile humor, extreme action and just plain stupid movies being produced. It's nice when an intelligent script with excellent actors come together.

The Post is an incredible movie about how the Washington Post story was breaking news during the Nixon administration. It takes you back to the 1960's when the investigation began due to leaked information regarding a break-in at the Watergate towers that led to the President's resignation.

This film with stars Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks may be worthy of nominations for Oscar awards. It tells how the Washington Tribute survive a possible sale of the paper by owner Virginia Graham and main editor Ben Bradley. Just after the sale went through, the next politacal crisis in D.C. was the corruption during the Watergate incident.

Purchased at a great price when I saw it was available. Husband enjoyed watching this on tv and now can enjoy watching it at any time! As always Best Buy has the best prices on a vast amount of great movies available including Blue Ray/DVD and digital copies!

Average movie- about freedom of speech during the Nixion administration. Movie was slow at times

For those who think that now is the worst time in American politics, you definitely need to see this movie. A great example of showing how good journalism, determination and stubbornness brought to light one of the dark examples of our history. We need the press to be independent, thorough and comprehensive. A must-see.

This is a great period film with a great cast. The story is really good and the pacing is very strong. I liked the visual style and costumes, I wasn't born when this happened but it felt real and lived in. Fat Tom Hanks is fun, really enjoyable for all audiences.

This is based on a true story of the Nixon Watergate scandal , but from the Washington Post view and background work. The implications of a scandal on the Presidency as determined by the newspapers female owner . It was a bit politically message heavy as it relates to today's Hollywood vs Trump environment.

I actually thought it was going to be a good movie but I couldn't really make sense of it.
