Love to see John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara together! I'm having it set in the beautiful land of Ireland was a big bonus. This is a step back from the typical John Wayne westerns but as usual he provides an excellent performance with Maureen O'Hara also. Retired boxer move to where he was from and finds love!

The Quiet Man is a John Wayne/John Ford classic, and really fun to watch around St. Patrick's Day. This deluxe version of the movie is packed with extras for movie aficionados.

Love this movie. The music and the scenery is amazing

When most people think of John Ford and/or John Wayne, chances are it's in the context of the Movie Western, but for me, I always end up thinking of The Quiet Man. In many ways, I think this film represents the high water mark for both of their careers. John Wayne plays a boxer who, after a freak accident resulted in his opponent dying in the ring, has returned to his ancestral home in Ireland to retreat from society. He soon finds, however, that doing so in a country where everyone seems to speak their minds and deal with conflict head on is easier said than done. He soon falls in love, but when her brother denies her the dowry she is owed, Wayne finds himself being pushed into a confrontation that will force him to face thew demons he was trying to escape. Out of context, some material may seem dated and even offensive, with the Irish characters often playing like stereotypes and everyone having an oddly casual attitude towards the use of physical force against women. In context, however, everything works like gangbusters and serves the central conflict found within Wane's character. It's wonderful to have a copy of the film that has been treated so lovingly. The copious special features are stellar and the film hasd never looked better on a TV screen. It's a perfect opportunity for people to revisit, or discover, one of the great films in history.

In my personal opinion one of John Wayne’s Greatest Movies!

Maureen O' Hara & John Wayne makes this an enjoyable movie. With arguably the greatest Director (John Ford) and an incredible supporting cast you can't go wrong purchasing this installment. You will also enjoy the bonus features and the better picture quality compared to the DVD.

This is one of John Waynes better movies--I wont spoil the movie rather I'll say that it takes place with J. Wayne returning home to Ireland from America after being gone for many years. Here J.W. reacquaints himself with the town/people and meets a younger single woman. There J. W. experiences many trials and tribulations. All are entertaining as long as your not expecting academy award writing and plot.----As to the film quality --Thankfully it was restorable as some films are lost forever. The colors are a little washed out but good compared to the non restored versions. If your looking for a feel good romance that's not too syrupy with some nice panorama of ireland you'll probably like it.---If your a J.Wayne fan you'll like it even more. If you want to see other J.W. movies some of his best are (4 acting /writing /cinematography --SEARCHERS ----For plot/acting/writing--THE MAN SHOT LIBERTY VALLANCE-- & THE SHOOTIST--for all around enjoyment depending on your taste--- RIO BRAVO----TRUE GRIT----THE QUIET MAN---My review is for the Blue Ray version of The Quiet Man --The B.R. Disc was received on time, for a great price and undamaged. Unfortunately B.Buy doesn't carry this movie in their stores so I could not pick it up in store. Other than that I'm very happy with my purchase

This classic movie is a "10" from every aspect! Great cast, great storyline, great scenery, funny and touching. The fiery relationship between Wayne and O'hara in film is legendary and does not disappoint in this award winning film. A must own film! The extra's are an additonal plus.

This is an all time classic, I Love It! USC Trojan, John Wayne. I started watching Classic back in the 70's and now I own them. Thank you Best Buy, I can always find what I want at a great price.

John Wayne has done a gazillion movies in his era. I have not been disappointed in one of them yet. This one though ranks definitely in the Top 10 of his films. If you are looking for an exceptional film with John Wayne - I will recommend these other two also - Stagecoach & Red River

An old time classic I never tire of. Even if you think you're not a fan of John Wayne you will love this show. Its a romantic comedy between Maureen O'Hara and Wayne. A perfect depiction of a more simple time and the setting is in beautiful Ireland. We had it on VHS but decided to upgrade to Blue Ray.

I can't say enough about the Duke. When on screen he's captivating and alongside his pal Mrs. O'hara they light up the fireworks. Yup, you can see why, after watching this film, many thought they were involved in a love affair because of the off the charts chemistry. Highly recommended!!

John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara team up for a crazy cool always entertaining classic. I have this movie on VHS, Special Edition Laser Disc, DVD, and 2 versions of blu-ray. Needless to say if you don't have it already, buy now!

A classic John Wayne - Maureen O'Hara love story finally gets the video upgrade it needed to restore it to five star quality. Excellent acting and directing by virtually the entire production team matches the well crafted plot. This video treatment is truly wondrous to behold.
