The movie itself is a really great movie, it can drag at some parts but overall the story is great and the visuals are stunning. The steelbook itself looks great and even though it has a matte finish I really like the color scheme they went with and how they blended the front to the back, Would definitely recommend buying this steelbook, especially at this price.

Of all the 4k hdr movies I own this one is by far and away the most gorgeous movie I have in my library. This movie brings out the best in your 4k home theater setup. And a great movie with a great story line to boot. The disc itself did have some audio sync issues though.

This is one of the best movies of 2015. There are certain scenes of beautiful cinematography that give you time for reflection before the movies picks back up on the story and action. The movie has 2 of the greatest actors of our time which are Leonardo Dicaprio and Tom Hardy who do a fantastic job in their roles. A must watch movie for anyone.

I have to say if you're a fan of cinematography this is a great movie, great music score and the sceneries in this movie or absolutely amazing, if you have a nice 4K TV with HDR / Dolby vision this is definitely a must-watch, your TV will thank you for the visuals.

This movie can be extremely difficult to watch in different points. Including one of the most brutal Man vs. Nature fight scenes I've ever experienced. The coldness of the wilderness, backwoods society, and man is all well-visualized and scripted in this cinematic masterpiece. Yet another stellar example of Leo's skills as an actor. A+++

This movie is eye-candy and the sound editing is great as well. It was the first movie I thought of for my new 4k home theatre setup. It's not for the squeemish though. I wouldn't let kids watch as there are many very violent segments. DiCaprio deserved the Best Actor OSCAR he won on this film.

This is a phenomenal film. I dont watch westerns on a regular basis. They have to really impress me. Films like The Unforgiven, the first Young Guns, The Quick and the Dead are some of the best modern westerns in my opinion. This film is one of the best I've ever scene. Not just as a western but as a film period.

I like the story and character development in this movie. Some scenes are not for the weak of heart, there are “gorey” things that are best suited for just adults. Otherwise it comes with a digital copy (at least my version did) that I redeemed into movies anywhere and it also synced to my iTunes account. Nice.

Great movie! Leo should have received his Oscar long before this, but this one was definitely a deserving performance.

Honestly, I don't know why they make this movie, I bought it on sale and did not expect much...but oh boy! it is a really catchy story it is a slow pace movie but never boring on the contrary the scenes are very realistic and everything looks like happening in real time....really a great movie.

This movie is a must watch for any Leonardo DiCaprio or Tom Hardy fan. These actors deliver performances of a lifetime. The movie has drama, suspense, action and is very satisfying. This movie really takes you back to the 1800's and gives you a broader sense of life as it was then.

Leo Gets His Oscar! And well deserved too. The cinematography is breathtaking, with a great story and almost a movie steal role for Tom Hardy. Right to the bitter end these two guys acted tremendously and the bear scene. oh the bear scene..incredible..you can feel him getting MAULED!

Visually, one of the best movies ....IMO. Sound quality not Atmos, but still strong......that ain't no teddy bear.

Great movie that shows this great actor's magnificent acting skills! Definitely should have won more awards! Captivating and melodramatic...draws you in... great mental escape just like a movie should be! Leonardo DiCaprio is a true skilled man and a stud to behold!

This was a great movie, I loved the visual effects and the background music, it was fantastic, the actors were top notch. Leonardo Di Caprio doesn’t disappoint, and of course Tom Hardy performance was 10/10. This is a must watch movie, especially in 4K.

What can I say Leo is the man and any movie fan or Leo fan will enjoy this movie. It is enjoyable and different in my opinion. Oscar winning for sure. Remember Best Buy price matches like it did for me! Thank you, I’m very happy with my movie

THE REVENANT MOVIE REVIEW: Apologies for this late post, I just got back from seeing this film for the second time. I wanted to collectively gather my thoughts. Plus, seeing this again I caught a few things I missed from my first viewing. So here we go! Cast: Six-time Academy Award nominee Leonardo DiCaprio, Academy Award nominee Tom Hardy, Domhnall Gleeson and Will Poulter. Plot: During 1823, Hugh Glass (DiCaprio) is a frontiersman out an adventure with his team in their fight for survival in the bitter landscape. When the unthinkable happens Glass' life is in the balance. Directed by Alejandro G. Inarritu (Birdman, 2014) over the period of five years in harsh conditions, this film literally changes the history of filming. Let me go through some points on why I think this is the film of the year: Performances: The performances throughout are all Oscar-worthy. Leonardo DiCaprio fully immersed himself into this character and I did not see him at all. All I saw was the character telling his story. Tom Hardy's performance was fantastic! Both Leo and Tom are incredibly smart actors by choosing these great roles because they fully trust the director on telling a compelling story. Tom Hardy dominated this film and arguably stole the film by his phenomenal portrayal of his character. At first, his accent threw me off a bit but then it gradually grew on me and I loved it! Tom proves yet again that he's willing to experiment with his performances as of late. At one point in the film, Leo's survival is clearly shown when he eats the liver from a bison. During an interview, Leo said that he actually ate a real-life liver and his reaction is shown on screen. This clearly shows to me that Leo truly cares about the authentic performance he gives and his love for films to tell this incredible story. The performances are exceptional throughout and they didn't come out of character one single bit. Story: The story of the film keeps intact throughout regarding the length of the film. The director knew what story he wanted to do and he stayed with it. Lighting: There was no studio used to make this picture it was entirely around nature. The use of natural light in this film is the real clincher. The director didn't use any artificial light to take away the landscape. Atmospheric landscapes: This film is set in the North American wilderness and was filmed in Calgary, Alberta. The acting isn't the only thing that makes the film, it is the beautifully atmospheric polar landscapes, from the vast forests to the incredible mountain ranges this film literally has it all. Overall, this is the film of the year and I completely recommend it without regret. The only flaw I have with the film is Leonardo's dream sequences. They appear quite often and at first it seems interesting. However, it starts to feel a bit pretentious because it shows up abruptly. My final verdict: 5/5 Stars!
