Why so melodramatic?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked up the Shannara chronicles as we had seen the first one about 12,000 times on tv and then saw no others. It wasn't as good as we had hoped - too DRAMATIC/Melodramatic...and the acting was definitely a disappointment. I'll be very surprised if there is a season 2 or beyond...

mtv show... teen angst meets cheesy dialogue

Hoped for more after the books. but, alas, was sadly not surprised as I was hesitant knowinig where it was airing. They don't hire actors for skill, they hire for budget and a pretty face.

Not quite like the books

Although the overall concept followed the book, there were too many differences between the books and shows for my liking.

Amazing Fantasy Series

If you like Game of Thrones/Lord of Rings type fantasy then this is the series for you! The characters are interesting. The dialogue is engaging. The story line is excellent. The series overall is very well produced and I was amazed how well it made on a television budget. I highly recommend to anyone interested that they give this series a try!!

Great Fantasy show

I compare it to shows as The Outpost but better. Note adapted for MTV A Basic cable Ch. not be same as The novels. I enjoy the show story A quest To prevent A magic tree from dying. They put a lot effort make show If see the bonus content.

I wasn't expecting this! AWESOME!!

This show is stunningly beautiful, follows the second book in the Shannara series pretty closely, and has some great talent. You won't be disappointed. Think Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings mixed together with teenagers as the focus.
