Customers are saying

Customers highly value the gameplay and portability of MLB The Show 22, with many praising its ease of use and the ability to play on the go. Positive feedback also highlights the game's realism and controls. However, some customers noted occasional frame rate issues and found the difficulty level inconsistent. Overall, the game is well-received but has room for improvement in performance and difficulty balancing.

I'll be honest. I'd rather have PowerPros, but that franchise is never coming back to the states. That said, it is both awesome and surreal to have a Sony game on a Nintendo system - and my favorite franchise to boot. There are some frame rate issues and the difficulty is all over the place. Pitching is pretty inaccurate at times. When a you're aiming at an outside upstairs corner and the ball goes downstairs on the inside and clips the hitter in the leg WITH A PITCHER AT 100 CONTROL, you know there are issues. That said, the game looks and sounds great. It plays pretty well about two thirds of the time and it is arguably the best portable baseball game ever. It's even better than the first party releases of the Show on the PSP and Vita. Which is insane.

Despite the game being produced for better tech specs, this version brings all the features of the game to handheld very well. The MLB license is utilized to it's fullest with this game, bringing outstanding rosters, character creation, and a bunch of different modes with an excessive number of accessibility/difficulty options on offer. The ONLY con to this game is the low resolution at times, but performance generally is great--the frame rate chugs almost exclusively during cutscenes, leaving gameplay itself mostly unscathed at a typical 30FPS. The depth of franchise and March to October modes is more than enough to satisfy casual and hardcore baseball fans and the cross save progression across The Show's network works like a charm after a brief setup.

I’ve always enjoyed playing a baseball game more than watching it, and The Show is the very best baseball game there is. The question is, how is this on Switch? Well it’s the full game minus the stadium editor. And for gameplay, it’s solid. It’s a stable 30 fps from my experience during actual gameplay. I specified gameplay because it is NOT a solid 30 during cutscenes such as batters walking up to bat; frames drop no doubt on that. BUT, that is not as important as it is with gameplay and I have not had a bad experience on that front. Graphics are softer in comparison to like the Series X of course, but on a 7 inch display I think it looks great. I do recommend this for sure. I wouldn’t pay more than $30 though. And of course we know sports games drop quick so if u can wait, it will surely be worth it at a lower price.

I am pleased with the realism and gameplay. You have total control of your player design, and the player performance. Be sure to have enough space on the memory card as it requires a large download in order to play.

PROS: Baseball on the go! Acceptable graphics. Lots of different ways to play the game. Easy to pick up and play. CONS: Frame Rate is noticeably slow at some points (they crammed a Ferrari engine in a Kia). Nintendo E-Shop does not integrate flawlessly.

I've never played a baseball video game before, but I got curious and decided to give the show a chance. It's very fun, but way too difficult for me to try at any setting other than Beginner. Slowly trying to improve! :) Having fun with it so far.

Finally we have a great baseball game on The Switch - The gameplay is excellent! I only rated four stars because of the large file size and the cutscenes run sub 30 fps (gameplay seems like a stable 30 fps).
