A Remastered Classic!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've lost count of how many times I've seen this movie. Somehow, I never grow tired of it. With most movies I have to watch them from the beginning but I know this one so well I don't need to fill in the blanks. Sometimes it concerns me that I am so fascinated by such a dark movie about extremely disturbed characters, but I have always been fascinated by the workings of the human mind. This represents, for the most part, one end of the spectrum, with Clarice Starling's character as the opposite end. Good against evil - and the fact this has been remastered into 4K format is just the icing on the cake.

One of the great Best Picture winners
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As Best Picture winners go, you can't do much better than this still-terrifying psychological thriller. Jodie Foster gives her best performance as Clarice Starling, a novice FBI agent tasked with hunting a serial killer, and Anthony Hopkins matches her step for step as Hannibal Lecter, an incarcerated maniac whose devious criminal mind may hold the secret to catching Starling's prey. As 4K discs go, this Kino edition can't compete with Criterion's special-features roster, although the 4K transfer is a marked improvement over what Criterion offered.

Scary stuff scarier still in 4K!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.SOTL is one of my favorite movies, which I have seen several times. I purchased this particular edition to see the film in 4K. Was the step up in quality worth it? In a word: yes! For a film where more than 75% of the scenes are filmed indoors in the dark, the superior video quality was apparent. What surprised me was how much better the audio was using my Senneheiser headphones: deep in the background track you'll hear all sorts of interesting effects emanating from the bowels of the Hospital for the Criminally Insane. In fact, there is a brief allusion to the background sounds in the "film historians commentary," which I found trite and disappointing, but I was comparing it to the phenomenal commentary from Jonathan Demme, Jodie Foster, Anthony Hopkins, Screenwriter Ted Tally and others on the Criterion Collection addition -- the best commentary I've ever heard on a film. Overall, it's a bargain price for a brilliant movie!

~ The Silence of the Lambs now in 4k glory ~
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a 30 year old movie, this looks really good now. 4K is beautiful with good sound at DTS 5.1. No 7.1, but, I don't know if that would add anything to this movie. It sounds good through the sound bar. Anthony Hopkins, in probably one of his best roles, plays an insane murderer out to try and help an up and coming FBI agent named Clarice (Jodi Foster). The events that unfold during the movie tell the tale of just how far Dr. Hannibal Lecter will go for an escape and revenge on all those who crossed his path. Nice blu-ray has all the special features brought over from previous editions. Well done KINO LORBER! This edition comes with a nice slipcover, so don't wait until it gets sold out.

Silence of the Lambs in HD!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Silence of the Lambs in 1080p. I actually still prefer 1080p over 4K, so this was the right choice for me

The Silence of The Lambs
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.“Well Hello, Clarice I ate the Guard with some Fiva Beans and a nice Chianti” one of the best memorable lines in Movie History especially for a Best Picture Winner of both the Oscar’s and Golden Globes. This Movie will actually haunt You and stun You at the same time because Anthony Hopkins as the infamous “Dr Hannibal (The Cannibal) Lecter” is one of the juiciness Villains of All Time and Jodie Foster after Her Oscar winning performance in the Movie “The Accused” comes back with another brilliant performance as FBI Agent Profiler “Clarice Starling” to come into a Case of the recent Serial Killer called “Buffalo Bob” all of the Movies need to be put in 4K HD!!
