This title has fulfilled its anticipations. The graphics are spectacular as gamers can indulge themselves in designing their dream home, making custom attire for the Sims, or simply play God as they control the aspects of your Sims' lives. This is a GREAT improvement on the original Sims series, as the full 3-D environment brings awesome details to the surroundings, allowing you to zoom in and out, rotate the camera, and even record small videos. I'm amazed by the creativity that Sims 2 inspires among the gamers. The included Body Shop allows you to import and export clothing items, as well as determine how your Sim will look like. Some gamers have created a series of episodes by using the video recording function. The hardware requirement is not that demanding either. If you have 64mb of video memory, 512mb of ram, and an Intel processor, you are good to go. The only thing that bothers me is that the Sims talk jibberish. You know the basic gist of what they are saying, but they don't speak in any known languages that I know.

The very first time I seen the preview of this game I wanted because I thought it looked cool and I was right. This game is awsome it's way better than the Playstation2 version. It's everything that they said it is.The coolest part about the game is how you can build houses, making the sims, how they age. Another part that is cool about the game is how its like a generation. Like you can start out with one sim family then they have kids, then thier kids can grow up and have kids. I especially like the sims seasons wich is even cooler like when it snows. The cars are also a new cool thing.

When I first bought this game, I loved it a whole lot. It took me a while to get used to taking care of the sims and most of the famlies I made at first died, but I learned how to use the cheats and then it got a bit boring. I started adding custom content and expansion packs to it and it made my entire computer slow down and freeze up. If the makers of this game had decreased the memory size of it, then I would continue to play it a bit more but I basically just use it to design the houses. If you have very limited space in your computer, then don't buy it. Your computer will break down and it will take a lot of patience to wait for it to load. Plus, the expansion packs are pricy.

I just bought this game a few weeks ago. and I fell in love with it since. Sims2 is the most fun video game I have ever played.... the best part is I created my own family of Sims and they look like my real life family. LOL Sims2 DD works great on my laptop Toshiba Satelite: duo 1.6ghz, 2gb rams, ATI Radeon xpress 200m.... I must say works better than my gaming desktop and it can play Crisis. ....anyway, Im gonna buy this Sims2 DD for my daughters as well. they both have laptops. but they have to wait till the holidays. I cant wait.

I was hesitant about buying this game - I had nearly all the original Sims expansion packs and I thought it would be tough to adjust to the new setup. I LOVE the Sims 2. I thought it would be slow on my laptop, but it runs wonderfully (even with Vista!). I think it is far more interesting because of the ability to buy cars and also, your Sims age so its not the same old thing everytime you play!

this is a really great game. plus you can create houses more than two stories high. If you count on getting all the expansion packs, make sure you have a really huge hard drive. It can take a lot of space and memory. just get the ones that you like the most. The other good thing, it comes with an expansion pack, nightlife. This can get you started if you want some extra expansion packs. I highly reccomend that you get a new graphics card.

i have been an avid sim player since the first sims came out. and the 2 is way better, it is more to do and not as boring, i could never go back. although with pcs it is very difficult to play because it is soo slow, you need a super computer...until i bought the apple mac desk top computer! i have never had so much fun with the sims, it never skips or pauses or just cuts out for anything, you just get to relax and play!

If you meet the requirements for this game and loved the last Sims you'll definitely love this one. The aging system is cool, you can drive cars on this one, the create a sim feature is 5x better, and the home building system is 10x better than the first one. The only bad thing i have to say about Sims 2 is the system requirements. I have a some-what top of the line computer and i'm barely able to run all the expansions on high detail. Thank goodness the Deluxe edition has lower system requirements than some of the other expansion packs. The minimum requires are for only low detail, and the game is still pretty laggy with those requirements.

    I LOVE this game!!!

This game is fabulous and I can literally spend HOURS playing it without realizing how much time has slipped by. It does get repetitive after awhile -- and yet it's still a lot of fun. I personally get a kick out of building houses and communities -- it helps release some of the need to shop ;-) The system requirements says 256 min. regarding RAM...but I would absolutely suggest having more. I used to run the game on my system with only 256 and, after awhile, it would crash because of low "juice". Since I upgraded my computer (I now have 768 mb), it runs sooooooo much better and I never have to worry about it crashing.

    THE Most Intriguing Game!!!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This is the most intriguing and amazing computer game I have ever seen. It is the future of computer gaming now. It's obvious a lot of intelligent thought has gone into developing it. I purchased this game (actually the Limited Edition) about three weeks ago and have added all the"stuff" and expansion packs except "Pets" (I have a live one which is enough to deal with right now). I've read all the reviews and I think there's a lot of thoughtful reflection in all of them. This game isn't for arcade shooters that want immediate gratification or for people that don't have a long attention span. It parallels a lot of things in real life. It presents a definite model of "decisions, actions and consequences (I'm actually a little more diligent in my housecleaning). It does take a LOT of computing power to fully appreciate it and I can see how, with an underpowered computer, this game would be very frustrating. I have a 3.0gHz P4, upgraded from an Nvidia 5700 SE with 256 Mb to an NVidia 7600gs with 512 MB for my AGP slot. I also increased my RAM from 1 GB to 3 GB. My daughter loves this game and has run it on a 2.8 ghz Celeron with 256 MB 5700 se and 512MB of ram which was too slow (very jerky imaging)to enjoy. I increased her RAM to 1 GB with significant improvement in performance and corresponding increased enjoyment when playing the game. I still don't get maximum graphic settings which I am presuming would take a PCIe video capacity ( a new motherboard for me). I do get good performance with all of the expansions and"stuff" I have added. It is a massive game with a lot of computing requirements but my impression is that graphic engines and ram as well as system ram are the most important requirements and potential upgrades. My impression of the low or negative reviews is that the reviewers either enjoy a different PC gaming experience or the computers are inadequate. Wish List: I enjoy historical simulation and strategy games. It would be great to see The Sims 2 in Ancient Rome, Pompeii, Egypt or other historical scenarios. How about an army career under Alexander the Great or a vacation at pre-Vesuvius Pompeii? I see a lot of possibilities.

This game is amazing. I'm excited for Sims 3 to be coming out next year but I still think that it is worth the investment to still by the sims 2. It is amazing how the game works. You have genetics now. Your children grow up go off to college (provided you have University EP) they have families of their own. The down side is you sims die. In the original sims game I used to make myself in the game. Now I dont like doing that because I know I will grow old and die. morbid.

This game is great! My favorite part isn't actually playing the game as much as it's building houses. The options in building have greatly improved, and you can do basically anything. I also like how you can build a home without money, and a price will be given after you finish so people can buy it. This way, you can build crazy 4 story high homes without cheating for money. The game itself is also very fun.

    Good Price for the Package

This bundle is great for the beginner into the Sims world. With the Nighlife pack included, you'll be able to go downtown, go on dates, and go for that trip around the block in you're hot new sports car. The price is right for the amount of stuff that you get in this. Create-a-Sim now features complete customization where you can tweak each individual facial feature as well as their whole head. Housing is much more fun now. You can build huge houses, way past 2 stories and build on diagonals (with windows and doors too) as well as building your own roof design. This game opens up a world of fun, the Sims' world. Go ahead and rule it on your own!

    Fun Computer Game!

I thought it was a great game when I got the time to start playing it. It's still fun, and better than the Playstation 2 version. You can make the characters look like whoever you like, and it's great. I have a lot of fun with it. It comes with the Sims Designer where you can just go crazy with making Sims (which is my favorite part!) or you can go make families and have them interact in their houses and watch them live their lives. It's great fun for anyone. I recommend.

This game is amazing! Bringing life back to the sims, I've had this game for about a week now and have been playing all day and night! Anyone looking to play the sims again, not with the bad graphics, but the good graphics with new story lines, then this game is for you! I highly recommend buying this game, it is worth it! It is suspenseful, intriguing and you will learn a lot about life, family and friends! Just remember, the skills are the same as the "sims" so it makes it a lot easier to play if you played the older version. If this is your first time, then you will have so much fun!!

The Sims 2 made a lot of improvements on the first game, and has enough variability in gameplay to make it endlessly entertaining. No two "days" are the same, and the aspiration addition to the game adds a new level of challenge, as you try to fulfill more than just the "basic" character needs. Tons of toys and gadgets... tons of cutsomizability... it's a big ol' virtual sandbox of fun. Just make sure you take care of any "real life" pressing business before sitting down to play. You might look up and notice that six hours have gone by!
