The 1968, & 1999 versions of The Thomas Crown Affair are similar but different. The 68 version of Thomas Crown see’s him and his accomplices rob a bank in broad daylight in Boston. The 99 version has him allegedly in cahoots with men that create a diversion; in a New York museum while he steals a 100 million dollars painting. In both versions of the films Thomas Crown is a bored business who commits crimes out of boredom. Until he crosses path with Vicky Anderson played the lovely Faye Dunaway when was she younger and, Catherine Banning played the lovely Rene Russo in the 99 film. Crown’s world is turned upside down when these women start investigating him of a crime he may or may not have done. To bring things to a close the films ends very differently 68 film with Vicky Anderson betraying him at the when he seemly turns over the money he stole. Where as the 99 film ends with Catherine being part of group of Police that’s task with arresting Crown when come to the Museum. After the big chase scene in the Museum Crown and Banning leave New York together in a supposedly happy future together.

The original Thomas Crown Affair, with Steve McQueen & Faye Dunaway. The plot is a bit stiff, the acting is definitely not smooth.
The most recent version with Pierce Brosnan is a much more polished work, with a more believable plot.

I first heard of this film in a video where Quentin Tarantino talks about Reservoir Dogs being a heist film. He mentions how he got some inspiration for tot from this film... definitely looking forward to watching it!

One of the Best Movies Ever! Excellent Performances by the Entire Cast. Should be seen today. Because we tend to take things for granted. Good reason not to bring back the Past.

Steve McQueen was a very talented actor and is the quintessence of cool. Faye Dunaway is ok but just not up to the level of McQueen. The suspense and ending are good.
