Second theragun elite that was DOA out the box

Second new theragun elite that would not hold a charge or turn on after plugged in and charged to 99% in 4+ hours. I wanted to ensure the unit had a full charge before first use to get the battery at full capacity. Before it got to 100%, the unit turned off the oled display. I tried to power on as instructions directed, but nothing. When I plugged it back in, the unit said 0% and started the slow charge process again. The cord they have for the unit is very short too. Instead of elite, it should probably be the ‘epic’ model, as in epic fail.

This 4th-generation TheraBody Theragun Elite is our first handheld massager and we couldn’t be more thrilled. It gets used daily, whether we workout or not. My wife is a long-distance runner and the effect on her legs is nothing short of amazing, reducing post-race post-run recovery time considerably. My usage is more therapeutic, to minimize lower-back pain my regular heated massager doesn’t get. Usage couldn’t be any easier, thumb button on/off with speed controls. The triangular frame provides easy individual access to 90% of the muscles and joints, and it’s even better to take turns massaging with a significant other. The Elite version of this product is not without minor nit-picks. - The 40-pound percussion strength can be on the strong side. - Some attachments can be painful if not used properly - 1750 PPM lowest setting is still quite fast, PROS ——- + easy to use, marked thumb button controls + OLED display screen is bright and punchy + Therapeutic deep muscle tissue massages + TheraBody app over Bluetooth Sync + Wireless, no cord to tangle up + Different attachment heads add to versatility + 120 minute battery life per charge, 3 hours to fill + Triangle frame for muscles accssibility + 5 variable speeds 1750, 1900, 2100, 2200, 2400 + Sleek Jet-Black design with sex appeal aplenty + Quiet Force Technology very low compared to the force produced CONS ——— -lack of pack-in instructions direct you to their site -lowest speed of 1750 still a bit strong -slight weight after extended sessions -minor fingerprint smudge susceptibility -wireless charger costs additional $79 CONCLUSION ——————— If you’ve owned a previous generation of massager, the technology included here likely supersedes it. If you haven’t, this 4th generation gets just about everything right. What are you waiting for?

I was shocked at how well this works. I use the lowest setting and it still makes a huge difference. Releases tightness and eases pain. You can use your FSA funds on this, too! I purchased during Black Friday to get a big discount. Worth every penny, either way.

A Wonderful Night’s Sleep from a Percussive Device

Right off the bat...this is not your traditional electric massager. You know which ones I’m talking about; the vibrating kinds or the rolling shiatsu kinds. This is percussive massaging at its finest, and Therabody has done a wonderful job on its next iteration of percussive therapy devices. The Theragun Elite shares most of its design from prior generation Theragun models already in the wild. The Triangle ergonomics on this device is by far the best thing that has ever happened to any electric massage device. I can hold this thing in most any angle and finding that perfect grip comes naturally as you use the device more. The biggest improvement from yesterday’s Theragun is the noise. Dubbed QuietForce Technology, it keeps the Elite running quiet during your sessions. Yup, it sure does, even at highest settings. You're more likely to hear the device thunder through your body. This thing is quiet. The percussive massage itself is very strong; so strong that you can just let the pad float on your muscle and get a healthy dose of tenderizing. I have never been able to do that with any other electric massager and would have to apply force to get decent feedback. That means you’ll have less hand fatigue and can go longer in your session, so if you choose. If you feel the need for more pressure, you can apply force or use a more firmer attachment. It was able to find sore muscles in my body that I didn’t even know that were sore! After a few sessions (and time, of course), the soreness has disappeared. I even tried it against my Tempur-pedic mattress....and it shook the frame!! The OLED display is a nice touch to any device, and this is no exception. Battery life, session choice, speed setting and even app connectivity is indicated on the display. There's not a whole lot going on, and there's no need to be. The rubber buttons are tactile, but my only minor gripe would be the session/speed buttons as they are a bit on the small side as they surround the main button. The Therabody App (both on iOS and Android) is a welcoming aide for us first timers who need a little instruction on how best to use the Elite. What I found remarkable is the predefined sessions to tailor to your needs and….how short the sessions are!! At first I thought there is no way you can get a good session within 6 minutes. In some cases, the sessions were less time than that! The app is very good at training you on how to use the device properly, indicating to apply more or less pressure, and showing you a timeline of how consistent you are with applying the appropriate amount. Once you get a hang of how to run your sessions, you can taper off of the app and just have the sessions saved in the Elite so you don’t always have to have your phone with you. The app can also help you target specific muscle groups if you happen to feel a specific soreness or tweak your body in a negative way. But what I found most mind blowing was the Sleep session. For 6 minutes, you are instructed to target a few muscle groups. 6 minutes. After the session is over, the relaxing feeling just causes me to knock out. I haven’t been able to fall asleep so fast in a long, long time. I’ve modified the session to about 10-12 minutes to work on some sore areas of my body before bed, and I’m off to lala land. I can go a whole week of bedtime therapy before I need to give it a full charge, which takes about 3-4 hours.

The Theragun - Elite Handheld massager is a very surprising tool to release tight muscles and tension. Right out of the box the Theragun is very easy to hold and grip. The unit provide a number of hand holds make it more versatile to use. It include several different tips for massaging and they are included in the handy carrying case. The case is very sturdy and has space for the unit, massage tips and charging plug. Using the Theragun couldn’t be easier. There is a multi-position switch that powers on the unit allows you to adjust the speed of the massager and select different custom massage programs. The custom programs can be set up by the included IPhone app. The surprising thing with the Theragun is how quiet the unit is when using it. I have another massager which you plug into an outlet and is much noisier and not as easy to use. For those looking for a powerful, quiet, battery operated massager this is the one!

Bought this item new from bestbuy for my wife for Valentine’s Day and never got to use it. When the device was plugged in it would not charge and stay at 0%. Returned the item, waited for a replacement and the second device came with another defective battery. After this happening twice I checked online to see if I was the only one with this issue. After seeing multiple threads with people all having the same problem it is safe to say that it is better to save your money and look for a different product. This is a well known problem with this model and after paying premium pricing this should not be an issue.

**Please note. I am not a medical professional. This review discusses my personal use only. I would suggest speaking to your physician if you have any questions about using this unit in your current condition.** The Theragun Handheld Percussive Massage Gun. Ahhhhhhh… That’s really all you need to say. I have chronic pain, including arthritis and fibromyalgia. Before the pandemic, I was getting a 30-minute professional massage every week. It’s really the only way I’ve been able to manage the pain. In the quarantine, I’ve been suffering without that therapy. I hold stress in my upper shoulders, and I’m not sure about you, but I find the quarantine a bit stressful. Hence, I’m starting to look like a hunchback. That is where the Theragun comes in. I received it about a month and a half into my quarantine. I needed help. The unit comes in a very nice box – great for gifting. Within that box, it comes in a lovely hard-sided travel case, which holds the gun, the attachments, and the instructions. The first thing you’ll need to do is charge it – mine arrived with a 28% charge. Then, you’ll want to download their app. Now, here is where it may get confusing. (I’m an Android user, so I don’t know if this will apply to iOS.) I looked for “Theragun” and didn’t find the app. I ended up going to their website, where I found that the company had changed their name to “Therabody”. Using that name I was able to find the app. The app was easy to set up and sync with the Theragun itself. What’s really neat about the app is that there are several presets for conditions or parts of the body that you want to address. For example, there’s a Sleep routine, which guides you to how to use the massager on which muscles to help you sleep. It will walk you through the locations, time spent on each spot, and intensity of the vibrations with the proper pressure. The massager is designed to be easy to hold. I was able to hold on to it most of the time. The further down I went on my back, though, I found it harder to hold. The noise level is fine with me. I wouldn’t use it next to someone trying to sleep, but I didn’t find it to be too loud. The unit comes with the damper attachment installed. This is probably the one you will use the most. I also used the ball attachment. Each preset routine will tell you which attachment to use. The odd thing is, though, you don’t see the attachment choice PRIOR to going into the routine, only once you are in it. Then you may have to pause the vibrations in order to change out the tool. Because of the stress in my upper back, so I started with the “Knots” routine. This uses the damper tool. While I did find relief, I found that when the unit was close to the base of my skull, the vibrations shook me a little too much for my liking. I also found that I wasn’t pressing as hard as the app wanted. When I adjusted my pressure, I found it hard to maintain. I also found it uncomfortable, so I went back to my previous pressure. My favorite, though, was using it without the app, just on its own. I have severe arthritis in my hip that also affects the muscles around that area. Nothing that I tried on my own broke up whatever it was causing my pain. The Theragun was able to do this. I have found so much relief with just a minute or so of using the product on my hip and back. For this, I am incredibly thankful. If you have tense muscles, or need something stronger than those handheld massagers that they usually market at Christmastime, I would highly recommend the Theragun.

The Theragun Elite by Therabody is a remarkable massage gun that leaves a lasting impression with its blend of excellent design and functionality. One standout feature is its large size, which might initially seem cumbersome, but surprisingly, it's also impressively lightweight, making it easy to maneuver during massage sessions. This balance between size and weight ensures that users can experience a comprehensive massage without experiencing arm fatigue. The device's battery life is commendable, lasting up to 2 hours on a single charge. However, for some users, this might not be enough, especially if they plan to use it for extended periods or multiple sessions between charges. While the battery life is decent, a longer duration would be appreciated by users who rely on the Theragun Elite for their recovery and relaxation needs. One notable downside of the Theragun Elite is its proprietary charging port. In a world increasingly moving toward standardization with USB-C charging, the proprietary port can be somewhat inconvenient. Having a USB-C charging port would not only have made it easier to find compatible charging cables but also eliminated the need to carry an additional cable solely for this device. Despite this minor setback, it doesn't overshadow the overall excellence of the Theragun Elite. One area where the Theragun Elite excels is its companion app, the Therabody app. It serves as a valuable tool for newcomers, offering guidance and insights on how to best utilize the massage gun effectively. The app provides a variety of massage routines and techniques catered to specific muscle groups, ensuring that users can target their problem areas precisely. By following the app's guidance, users can optimize their massage experience, enhancing the effectiveness of the device. As users become more familiar with the Theragun Elite and its various settings and attachments, they might find themselves relying less on the app. After a few sessions, muscle memory takes over, and users can effortlessly navigate the device without constantly consulting the app. This aspect is beneficial, as it allows users to quickly integrate the Theragun Elite into their daily routines, saving time and effort in the long run. While the Theragun Elite undoubtedly offers an impressive massage experience, it's worth noting that its premium quality comes with a price tag to match. Compared to some of its competitors, like the Bob and Brad D6 Pro, the Theragun Elite can be seen as a bit pricey. It's essential to consider your budget and weigh the features and benefits before making a decision. That said, if you're eyeing the Theragun Elite but hesitant about the cost, keeping an eye out for sales or promotions could be a smart move. Many retailers offer discounts and special deals on high-end massage guns, so taking advantage of a sale event can significantly reduce the financial burden of purchasing this top-notch device. In summary, the Theragun Elite is an exceptional massage gun that delivers a fantastic massage experience with its lightweight design and powerful performance. The commendable battery life and helpful companion app enhance its appeal further. However, its premium pricing and the presence of competitive alternatives like the Bob and Brad D6 Pro should be considered. If budget allows, the Theragun Elite is undoubtedly a worthy investment, and waiting for a sale could make it an even more compelling option for those seeking a top-tier percussive therapy device.

Got the product red theragun elite, and battery would not take a charge. Tried many hours on multiple outlets that work. Had to return. Unfortunately the next theragun elite I got , regular elite has battery charging issues too. The new one will charge to 99% after 4 hours, but then when I was going to use it, it went back to Zero and would not power on. I’m wondering about the quality of units sent to Best Buy.

Theragun Elite has worked great on my muscles it has taken my knots out. I have used this for a week i golf around 2-4 rounds of golf a week and walk. This has been great on my legs and lower back. I gave it to my brother for a night he used it on his sore shoulder and has felt some relief the next day and has already said he was going to get 1. This come with 5 different attachments to use. Bluetooth connects to your phone. The phone app is great lets you pick what type of sport you do or what you need worked on. It will tell you what muscle to do and is timed and will let you know if you are putting enough pressure on that are. The display is clean nice and you can read it with no problem. Tells you battery life what speed you are running at. At the power button you can change the speed. The motor is not loud at i use it when we are watching T.V and it doesn't bother anyone in the room. I really think we will get a lot of use out of this as we are active and this is not a loud machine to use anywhere. So the Display is clean and nice easy to ready and the motor is not loud at all. Light weight great handle so you can use it yourself.

    Great Bank for Your Buck

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

TLDR: You’ll feel nice and destressed after a healthy pounding from your Theragun Elite. It’s $399 for reliable stress relief that’ll make your skin and muscles feel relaxed and warm. The grip makes reaching most places easy, even for those lacking average flexibility. The multiple attachment heads are great for ensuring you get the right spots the right way. It offers an app for tracking massage and providing recommendations, but you can get plenty of benefit without worrying about the app. I wasn’t always a big massage person, but after a few decades of life on this planet I quickly learned the errors of my early ways. Daily life and work stress get my back and shoulders tight, and workouts only further beat up my body. I have used the Theragun Elite 3-4 times per week for about a month. My Theragun sessions ranged from 5 to 30 minutes each time, and I would occasionally mix in multiple short sessions a day or a longer one at night. The Theragun Elite currently allows you to set the percussions per minute (i.e., stroke) rate between 1750 and 2400. There is definitely a noticeable difference in these two extremes and the midpoint. However, I didn’t find meaningful differences between 1750 and 1900, for example. A low, medium, and high option would probably be sufficient for me, but others may really enjoy the fine tuning that can be done. The Theragun Elite comes with 5 different massage attachments that each serve a specific purpose. Each attachment definitely offers a different feel and should be used for specific purposes. However, you can get away with using the “Standard Ball,” “Thumb,” or “Dampener” attachments for most of your body. The “Cone” is really great for the areas you want some deep penetration, and there is also a “Wedge” specifically for areas like your IT Band and shoulders and which can help with “scraping” and “flushing” (as Theragun puts it). The Thergaun Elite offers an app that connects via Bluetooth. While I briefly messed around with it to see what it offered, I did not find the app necessary. The last thing I want to do when I’m trying to destress is have to worry about plugging data into an app or consulting it for my proper evening massage. For those who like the data tracking aspect or want tailored recommendations, then the app can certainly provide that for you. Whether you feel like me or like to get granular with your data, you can get a lot of benefits out of the Theragun Elite either way. My biggest complaint about the Theragun Elite is the sound generated, but I’m really splitting hairs here. The Elite is billed as Theragun’s quietest product, and I have used the standard model, the “Prime,” and there is definitely a huge noise difference. However, I wish it was quiet enough to use while on a phone call or in a group setting because it would really be nice to get a massage while dealing with stressful phone calls all day. If your partner is a light sleeper, don’t expect to Theragun yourself in the bedroom without disturbing them. However, it’s not so loud that it would be distracting while watching TV or similar activities (assuming you don’t mind turning up the volume a bit). Your first thought when opening the box is "this is a high quality product." It definitely is. It comes a very nice zippered carrying case that has enough room for the assortment of tips, the charger and of course the device itself. It's super easy to use the device. Hit the power button and it comes to life with two buttons to control the speed and two more buttons to cycle through presets. As for how it works and feels: simply amazing. I had been having some lower back pain since working from home since my chair is less than ideal to sit in for multiple hours of the day. Once I use this though, my body feels significantly looser and refreshed. I'm actually exited to go back to the gym (once they open up again) and see how my body feels after a full workout. I can imagine my recovery time will be reduced somewhat. You can also download an app that has preset routines that you can use ranging in a wide assortment of categories: strength training, upper back, wellness, etc. The app is super convenient, easy to use and was extremely quick in connecting to my Theragun. It's probably one of the easiest device-to-app connection processes I've ever run into. All in all: I highly recommend this product if your body feels uncomfortable or have any sort of tension in your muscles. It feels wonderful and certainly helped me!

Bought this on Black Friday for my wife when it was $100 off. Good build quality. Very quiet. Easy to change heads. Easy to hold. The amount of force this puts out is great. You really have to push on it to make it stop. I was unable to pair it with an iPad, however, no issues pairing with an iPhone. Charges from 0% - 100% in about 2 hours. Overall very happy with this purchase.

Great massager for post-recovery (can't say it's for all workouts, but you can adjust the speed/strength, depending on the intensity of your workout). Been using this after my 5:00AM run every morning, and the Theragun hasn't woken up anyone in the house...yet. - so very good first impressions of the noise emitted by this device. Also, the battery life is incredibly long. Even using it for 15-30 minutes daily, I only do a full-charge every month (which give-or-take may depend on the mode used, as my default setting is 1750-2000). Great buy!!

I’ve been using it for a few days now and really like it. When I first tried it, I used it without the app and wasn’t really sure whether I was using the right amount of pressure. I had a bunch of knots in my upper back and although it is a little awkward to use it by yourself on your back, it can be done. I then downloaded the associated app for my iPhone and that made a big difference. The app connects via Bluetooth to the device and has multiple programs you can use for back, shoulders, sleep, etc. The best part was it tells if you are providing enough pressure when using the massage gun. Great feature and very helpful. Overall, I would recommend this device to help loosen up sore/tight muscles. It is relatively quiet and didn’t get in the way of listening to the TV while working out the knots in my calves.

I love this Thergun Elite I purchased. I tried a friends for the first time, and felt the benefits. However they had an older model, and this latest model is so much better. This elite is so much quieter, and the attachments feel a lot better. Also the settings are easy to use. I couldn’t recommend this more. I train with weights and ride my bike, so my body is constantly needing recovery. This is perfect.
