2nd warranty claim in less than 2 years

In looking for a proof-of-purchase(again) I noticed that I forgot to leave a comment for this PSU. Let me tell you...it's junk. I am in the midst of arranging for my second warranty claim in less than 2 years. The PSU is randomly turning off. I would buy a Spark-o-matic or Dollar Tree branded PSU over this one. On the plus side at least it's not bursting into flames! Plus one star for that!

Worked great for about a year and then died. It was not very expensive to begin with, so I guess you get what you pay for.

Bought this to run a Bitcoin mining rig. The unit kept shutting off when wired for permanent on. Tried loading the sensing circuits, then it overloaded with a load of about 300W on the 12V rail. Had to buy another power supply and that one works great. This one is collecting dust. Would not recommend it to anyone.

It fits in my home theatre PC from 2006!

Long story short, I needed to replace the wimpy 300w PSU in my machine to run a graphics card upgrade (GT 640). The TR2-600NL2NC certainly was bigger than my older one, so I was really concerned that this model wouldn't fit my machine. So, I took out my older 300w PSU and brought it to the Geek Squad counter to see if the technicians there could help me decide whether or not I should get this PSU. Not wanting to get a wimpy 400-500w PSU and limiting my graphics card upgrade choice to a GT 610, which is really a re-badged GT 520, I decided to tempt fate. The TR2-600NL2NC certainly wasn't the only PSU I could've chosen, but it provided the bare minimum AMP rating I needed to run my new graphics card. Lesson learned, ALWAYS make sure your PSU can meet or exceed the AMP rating of any new graphics card you put in your system. With that in mind, this PSU was also within in my $200 budget (I decided not to spend more than $200 in total for a PSU+graphics card). So what do I think? It actually fits in my machine, the price is decent, and it's WAY more silent compared to my older PSU! (I'll admit though that it's up to me now to keep it dust-free!) However, when installing this beast, I found that the way people installed PSU's in 2013 are quite a bit different than in 2006 (when my machine came out). Here's the layout of my PC, from top to bottom: TOP of the machine... Back - Front ------------------- [PSU] - DVD drives in front [Case Fan] - HDD drives in front [Peripherals/cables] - (nothing in front) [Graphics] - (nothing in front) [TV] - (nothing in front) [NIC] - (nothing in front) Back - Front -------------------- BOTTOM of the machine... So, the PSU's fan is actually facing downwards, towards my graphics card. If I didn't have a powerful case fan in between the two components to blow air out, I believe I would be on the market for a totally new machine altogether. So, I should recommend that regardless of what graphics card you choose to run with this PSU, I should also recommend that you have a decent case fan to actually help this PSU to expel hot air from your system more effectively. The length of these cables is quite substantial in my opinion... so, I also ended up bundling the long, loose cables and zip-tying them together. This is not just to keep the inside of my CPU case tidy, but also to help improve airflow. I bought this PSU on 5/06/2013... it's 05/31/2013 as I'm typing this review and it still functions and sounds EXACTLY as the first day when I bought and installed it. Summer is coming fast, so only time can tell if this bad boy can withstand the ambient heat... though, with the proper considerations and a good case fan, I think it can.

This is a terrible product. The Fan makes an awful noise that I can't figure out what the cause is. Do not put this in your computer if you value your computer.

I upgraded my desktop PS from 400W to 600W. The long cabling provided allowed me to replace the old power supply connection by connection. No mistakes. No guesses. No problems. The new PS runs smooth and quiet. Very Happy!!

Really nice power supply in this price. Back a month and a half ago I had the power supply go out on my current rig, so I just went ahead and ordered this power supply. The power supply had plenty of sata connectors and other plugs. This power supply has been handling my computers fans, hard drives, and even reliably handling my twin GTX 460's that are running in dual SLI mode with ease and I would recommend that if you need a great power supply that you should order a TR-600 as well from ThermalTake.

This power supply has been great for the price. My system specs are as follows: Intel Core i5 4690k at 4.0Ghz MSI Gaming 5 Z97 16GB DDR-3 2166 GeForce 970 4GB 3 SSDs, 1HDD, 1 optical drive, AIW water cooling kit and 5 case fans I consider my system to be mid-range/bordering on higher-end for single-card systems, and I've had absolutely no stability issues. A 980 would work fine in this system, and the 980 is arguably the top-end (if I were spending four figures on video cards, I'd go triple or quad SLI 970's for the price, over SLI'd 980s or any Titan).

Great power supply for my GTX 650

I wanted a mid-range discrete graphics card for my new personal computer, so I picked up a GTX 650 and needed a new power supply for it. This one works great, fit my case well, is very quiet, and hasn't given me any problems whatsoever for more than a year now. Probably wouldn't be powerful enough for a power-hungry, top-of-the-line gaming machine, but a great value buy for a mid-range PC like mine.

    Good PS for the money

Just picked up this PS today after exchanging a Thermaltake 430w PS that started whistling/humming under load. This 600w one puts out great power and is extremely quiet. The length of the cables are perfect. One downside is the wires aren't sheathed/covered so if your going for the nice and clean look inside your rig then look elsewhere. Especially if you have a see through cover on your PC. The wires are just ugly. The 430w TT PS I returned even had sheathed wires. The connectors also seem kind of cheap and flimsy. For my application the PS is just fine. It's got enough power to run my core 2 quad cpu, 2 dvd-rw drives, WD VelociRaptor HDD, and my GTX 650 Ti. For only $64.99 you get exactly what you pay for, a great functioning PS but without the sheathed wires. All in all the PS works great and does what it's supposed to do, so far anyway.
