Excellent style n fabric. Zippers can be difficult to open and close. This is a good thing for security reasons, but frustrating at times. Having only 1 zipper instead of 2, on each opening, forces the user to zip up the compartments all the way to one end. This makes it difficult for things to slip out. 5 stars from a loss prevention standpoint, but 4 stars for limited space due to narrow main compartments. This backpack is designed to hold a laptop n gadgets.

Well made backpack. Plenty of room for my mbp. Good protection and water-resistant. Side pockets need to be more snug for water bottles and the metal hook on the front of the bag always slips off. Overall solid backpack.

I used this for college to transport books and a 15" MacBook. It performed wonderfully and have handed it down to a relative. Still going strong.

I purchased this backpack because the Ogio Gambit 17 backpack that I got about a month ago from Best Buy started having problems. I needed a backpack with a lot of space and other than the Samsonite/Swiss Gear backpacks, the TCBP-417 was the only other backpack at the store that had a lot of space.
The crush proof storage compartment is a nice addition and holds my iPhone 5s and sunglasses with no problems. The zippers are a little hard to pull but I'm sure they will break in after more use. There is enough storage compartments to hold my MBP, charger and extension cord, a bunch of college textbooks/travel documents, a jacket, pens, a backup battery powerbank, Audio Technica ATH-M50x in a leather carrying case, and still have some space left for a day or two of clothes when traveling. The outer exterior quick stash compartment is nice but I don't have a use for it yet.
The shoulder straps are a little on the thin side and may not be comfortable to some people. The padding for the laptop compartment is enough for daily use and travel. It was able to hold my 13" 2010 MBP with no issues. The tablet compartment was big enough for my iPad Air with a leather case. The padding for the rear part of the backpack is comfortable and has enough space for air to breathe through to relieve some of the heat during the summer days. The water bottle holders on the side was big enough to hold my Hydroflask.
My only gripe that I have with this backpack is that it doesn't stand upright by itself like the Ogio Gambit 17 or the Ogio RSS Renegade 17 that's also available for purchase at Best Buy.
Overall a great backpack for travel, school, and the tech enthusiast with a minimalist design. However this backpack is a little on the pricey side. The material seems to be very durable and the backpack itself is water resistant. I would recommend this backpack to a friend but it may be too pricey for them. I highly recommend looking at the smaller sized Thule backpacks that Best Buy has to offer as that may have enough space for the average consumer for around $30-$50 less than the TCBP-417.

Nice, well made bag which should be expected at this price point. Sunglass pocket zipper is a little difficult to open and close (checked multiple bags so it's not just the one I got) hopefully it breaks in over time.

I bought this bag back in March 2016 since I was starting to commute by bus to work. I use it to hold two laptops and the other usual backpack items (phone, wallet, water bottle, binder) and can say they keep the items inside pretty secure. My backpack has flown off a bus seat and onto the floor a couple of times but both of my laptops have been fine - no damage physically.
The only two things that bother me are the zippers and the straps. I feel they get too tight at times therefore the chest strap would also become too tight and making it really uncomfortable. I had a Dakine prior to this one and zippers were easy with one hand and the straps were much looser.

Very good backpack for anything. I use it at school and have my laptop in it all the time. Rain does not get into the backpack at all and protects the laptop.
