    It works great on our HE washer. It gets rid of the occasional moldy smell that can occur with HE washers.

    Tide Washing Machine Cleaner leaves a fresh and pleasant smell with normal use. However, it wasn't much help at removing, or even masking the smell of gasoline, which was left behind after washing cloths that had gotten gasoline spilled on them. I even tried using a second pouch without much improvement.

    It's hard to know if the product cleans away residue build-up. My machine looked clean both before and after use. However, I believe in prevention and I think that, since my machine does not show any residue or have any odors, this product works to prevent build-up as well as to clean build-up.

    We acquired a front load washer that was not cleaned well and had been left closed for a few weeks... after cleaning the washing machine and using these in the machine for two cycles, most of the mildew odor was gone.

    I've used other cleaning tablets in the past Bought these because they were on sale , half price. I assume it did its job -- but it left behind a vile smell of its own. Smell dissipated after not too long but I won't but this brand again.
