This game is so fun don't let others decide for you. The campaign had a good storyline that kept me on toots and gave me an adrenaline rush. I wish I had got the game more sooner when it was released.

Single-Player Campaign Adds Greatly to This Sequel

When Respawn Entertainment first showed off its concept for Titanfall and hinted at a first-person shooter full of acrobatic action and towering robot warriors that could rival Call of Duty, Titanfall was the game that I wanted to play. They've since doubled down on its compelling formula of breakneck movement and grandiose scale, tapping the vein of those literal and figurative explosive moments that we brag about afterwards. And this time around, the first game’s lacking single-player component has been addressed with admirable results, offering an engaging trek through a universe that was begging to be fleshed out.
Titanfall 2’s campaign is the tale of rifleman Jack Cooper, who’s unexpectedly given the reins of Vanguard-class titan BT-7274 (AKA “BT”) when the two are stranded on the planet Typhon after their starship was brought down in an ambush by the evil mega-corp IMC. Their pairing is a good one, if somewhat predictable, with both characters playing off one another in the fashion of their archetypes. BT’s artificial intelligence personality is dry, logical, and ready to misunderstand Jack’s human colloquialisms and turns-of-phrase for slight comedic effect, while Jack is the relatable everyman grunt who knows next to nothing about being a pilot, much less a hero. This sets the stage for the pair to work together through nine chapters of excellent level design that showcases Respawn’s genuine talent for conveying scale. Each chapter is a sprawling playground of twisting jungle valleys, massive factories, military structures, and debris fields, each seeped in their own dense atmosphere thanks to gorgeous vistas and dramatic lighting.
Playing through the approximately six-hour campaign I was impressed that each level felt big enough for me to sprint, hurdle, double-jump, and wall-run through while also being well enough organized that I never felt lost. It’s linear, but open enough to create an illusion of freedom. Only occasionally was I forced to stop and consult the objective beacon, which is great considering the amount of time I spent dashing through mazes of massive air ducts or across assembly lines big enough to construct entire buildings.

Game mechanics are great. Graphics are amazing–like most games nowadays. I completely dig the overall concept and multiplayer offers a lot of mode options. By far my favorite is the newer Frontier Defense mode. I find their are way too many campers when I play PvP and the match quickly becomes boring. I'm way more in to guns-blazing combat than stealth combat and you have to go the stealth route when their are 3 or 4 snipers in cover on top of towers with line-of-sight to the entire map. But some people like that style of combat so I just pick a different mode to play. There are several that rock.
As for the campaign... that left me wanting in a big way. I wouldn't even call it a campaign. It felt like a really involved, well made, training course to get you ready to play multiplayer. I completed the entire campaign in less than 7 hrs. That's horrific. 7 hrs??? And I've seen some reviews saying the campaign is over 15 hrs. No way. Not even close. I wasn't even trying to get through it as fast as possible. I was looking for the secret items on every mission. What it feels like is one complete mission from a campaign. I never got a sense that I was turning the tide of the war or anything that made me feel the campaign was coming to an end and then, boom, credits.
Bottom line: If all you care about is the campaign mode then this game is not for you. Rent it. Beat the campaign in a night or two. Then return it. But if you like multiplayer then this game rocks!!!
But FYI, there are tons of micro-purchases in multiplayer. Several weapons are purchase-only and cannot be unlocked by increasing rank. I found that to be BS and will not be buying anything extra. I'm from the old school era and when I buy a game I should get everything in that one purchase. I'm not about to spend $1.99 here and there until a single game ends up costing $100. That business model is not for me and should not be for AAA games. Micro-purchases only belong in free games. That makes sense because free games need to get revenue from somewhere. But when a AAA game costs $59.99 at launch or more, don't nickle and dime me!

Lots of times we hear that the 1st game in a series is often better. Sometimes it's true but not in this case. Titanfall 2 built upon what made the 1st one so fun by adding a campaign, better weapons and just an overall better experience. So if you bought the 1st Titanfall, then you definitely should get this one for a better, complete game. I recommend this game.

This is a fun shooter, fast-paced and exciting. The first game I did not care for because it did not have much content. This one corrects that some and adds a single player campaign that is fun and unique even if not very long.
The multiplayer is fun and a lot faster than you think with giant robots. It is usually very cheap now so really worth it.

Although multiplayer is a great addition to this game, story takes the cake in this sequel. Definitely worth the pickup even more so when it's on sale. If you haven't picked up a copy yet, go head and please do yourself the pleasure. You won't regret it.

Looks incredible on the X on a 4k TV!! Love the dynamic scaling where it fluctuates the resolution anywhere from 1440p to supposedly close to 6k, to keep the framerate close to 60 frames/sec most of the time. Also, the campaign (story mode) is amazing!!!

I wish more multiplayer achievements were possible on xbox as this is one of the funniest multiplayer experiences to be had. Campaign was fun as well. Multiplayer was great. Game is also surprisingly cheaper than others released around this time.

I really enjoyed the first Titanfall so I decided to pick up this one. I was pleasantly surprised with how much they improved upon the first. Also I love the addition of a campaign. This game is so much fun and definitely worth a buy.

As a fan of the first one, was waiting patiently for the second one & it doesn't disappoint. With a fleshed ouy single player campaign & engrossing story, many will like the direction the series has taken.

great fps game. i like halo, battlefield bc2, and cod:advanced warfare. if you like those games you will love this. extreme fps with gundams and a deep multiplayer system. great weapons, titan abilities, movement, good boss fights. No DLC!!! No microtransactions! all additional content will be free in the future. that was a big reason i bought at launch, i support that. the game is worth it if you like intense and fun campaigns as well as a deep multiplayer experience.

I picked this up fairly cheap over Black Friday just for the campaign element since I had heard it was really good, albeit a bit short (as are most fps campaigns these days). Definitely worth the price of admission for the campaign alone. The multiplayer is just a bonus.

I purchased this again (even though I have the PC version) just to see the enhanced XB1X graphical improvements. Great game, with an excellent single player story, and the improvements make it nearly impossibly to distinguish from a version running on a high end PC.

4K 60 FPS WITH AN XBOX ONE X IS AWESOME, THE STORY ON THIS GAME IS GREAT, BUT THE GAMEPLAY IS SO SMOOTH AND FLUID, ONCE YOU GET USED TO IT, YOU'LL NEVER GO BACK AND PLAY AT 30 FPS,
