A great refresh of the Splinter Cell Series

I am thrilled with this game. I have loved Splinter Cell since the first game, but always felt it was so ambitious, that the hardware (of the time) was holding it back. Now with the power of the Wii U, the hardware has evolved to be able to really showcase what this series is about. Blacklist is a refresh of the series, bringing in Motion Capture animation, and a new voice actor to the character of Sam Fisher. While Michael Ironside is hailed as The Voice of Same (since the first game), and many SC fans miss him in Blacklist, I think Ubisoft did an amazing job with refreshing the series. The new voice actor (who also did all the motion capture for Sam Fisher (as well) really brings a new life to the character (and series). Ubi took it a step further, having different difficultly levels, different modes of playing (from lethal to non-lethal, and stealth to assault), making this series more accessible to new comers, and flexible to your playing style. This also adds a lot of replay value (to really challenge you). The challenges are not frustrating, yet motivating to really push through the game (even when at it’s most difficult). The story line is better than a movie, the graphics are amazing, the side missions are great, and the daily and weekly UPlay challenges are fun – all giving you the opportunity to earn money for more gear, which provides an advantage in the storyline gameplay. The Wii U (and added features Ubi gave it) is the best version hands down. The use of the gamepad really immerses you in the character of Sam Fisher. Not only providing fast access to weapons and gadgets, but also integrating certain aspects of the game play, to add a better challenge (such as sniping enemies from a helicopter, to flying an armed UAV). Blacklist is a great new direction for the Splinter Cell series, and the Wii U’s features (and graphical power), makes this the definitive version. A must for your Wii U library.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist is a solid stealth game with good graphics and fun gameplay. It also uses the wii u gamepad in some interesting ways. The voice acting is excellent and the story is surprisingly good.

Most gamers would laugh at the suggestion that a thrid party title like this would arguably have its best iteration on the Wii U, but outside of some pretty long load times, the use of the console's touchpad screen really adds a lot to the experience like using it as a dedicated screen to control Sam Fisher's remote drone and a quick touch layout for his arsenal of weapons and gadgets.
Pretty decent storyline aided by great visuals and sound backing up the tried and true Splinter Cell stealth based gameplay make this one of the better installments of the series. Add in co-operative and competitive online gameplay, and this is a pretty solid buy.
My only real complaint is the decision to move away from Michael Ironside, who had been the voice of Sam Fisher since the beginning.

Story is what you'd expect from a Tom Clancy game. Cool gadgets and smooth controls. Graphics are pretty good. Load times are atrocious though and the multiplayer community has a low population. The game also had a tendency to crash but doesn't happen a lot.

I love that you can choose how to approach each situation with either stealth or action. It really lends to a unique and personal game experience. The balance between the two is the best in the series. The sorry is engaging and always keeps the game moving forward at very good pace.
I also love the ways that the Wii U gamepad is used to control the various spy gadgets. It adds an awesome level of immersion that you just can't get on any other game system.
Visually the game is amazing. It particularly has very good use of lighting which is especially important when you're sneaking around in the dark.
For online multiplayer, bringing back the Spies vs. Mercs mode was a GREAT idea. The very different play styles are very well balanced for awesome online matches.
I highly recommend this version of the game!

This game has a compelling storyline that will make you want to finish it. It gives you several options to deal with enemies. You can bypass them entirely, go in with guns blazing, or sneak up on them and take them out using non-lethal or lethal means. There are a lot of different gadgets that you can buy and upgrade and a variety of side missions.

A great game Splinter Cell: Blacklist goes back to the roots of the Splinter Cell franchise, focusing more on stealth based gameplay rather than being completely action-oriented. Although this game was made to please all fans and has the option to play it in any way you want whether you want stealth, action, or a little bit of both. The WiiU gamepad makes playing this game alot more fun as item management, quick switching, and camera augmentation make it feel like your using the actual tools in the game. If your looking to experience Splinter Cell at its fullest the WiiU version is definitely the definitive version.

Great stealth action game that is augmented by superb use of the WiiU gamepad. Equipment selection and use is easy and flows great on the second screen. Difficulty can be aggravating but is rewarding. Graphics could have been better and certain load times chug... Other than that great stealth action game.

I think this is a great game to have for the Wii U. Ubi makes great use of the gamepad and it looks great on this system. But what holds it back is the online. Ubisoft has yet to release a patch so co op and spys vs mercs is almost unplayable most of the time. But same problem with all other systems.

If you are on the fence about this one, the Gamepad experience on the Wii U is enougb to make it a sub $20 purchase.
