I didn't go into this movie expecting much. Based of past video game movies, no one should really expect much but I was pleasently suprised that it was actually a good movie. While we know lings are a little out there in terms of action, stunts and stuff. They did a good job of making you like & hate characters as well and keep the movie some what grounded in real life. The 4K bluray is done really well, HDR is not overused and place in proper areas as well as a sharp clean image. Dloby atmos really does a nice job and is also not overly done. The movie is worth the purchase and if you can enjoy 4K, this is the way to go.

After some of the reviews, I was a little nervous that the new Tomb Raider movie wouldn't meet my expectations. However, I was very surprised and it was actually much better than I hoped! The source material was treated with loving care and respect, and closely followed the plot of the first "Tomb Raider" reboot game. The 3D on this was better than I though it would be as well, medium in most scenes and medium strong in a few scenes. It certainly added to the immersion factor, and is my preferred way to watch it. If you a 3D tv or projector, I would certainly go with the 3D version over the 4K.

PLENTY OF ACTION, BUT, The final scenes of Tomb Raider confidently set up its sequel, as Lara identifies her true enemy and first picks up her trademark pair of pistols. It's a great moment, because Vikander finally flashes some of the cheerful grit that makes Lara Croft an appealing heroine—but then the end credits roll and we're left hanging, waiting for a continuation of the story that, given the film's weak box office, is unlikely to arrive. If you're going to make an origin story, it needs to offer something more than a loudly busy but instantly forgettable two-hour prologue.

Fair entry in the series and Alicia vikander did a fantastic job, but I much more enjoyed the original film series,cause frankly the scripts were better.

If you're a fan of Lara Croft and the long time video game series, then you should see this movie. Alicia Vikander does a great job of bringing Lara to life on the big screen. The movie most resembles the more recently released video games in the series. It contains all the action and grit you would expect to see from Lara. Good story, excellent scenery, and all the sound and video quality 4K can produce. This is Tomb Raider in all it's glory without a video game controller in your hand...

It's hard to believe this game was based on a video game. They took the story from the game, which was already a complex story, and expanded it. The whole story is written in a way to give someone who has never played the game an introduction to the characters. This movie was written based on the 2013 reboot of the franchise. The story lays the groundwork to make more movies and introduces a more human element to the character as she begins the journey to become the Tomb Raider.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I started the movie, because of how the first movies were, but it was actually refreshing. She actually felt like Lara Croft, and looked the part as well. Some of the acting could have been a little better, and I feel like they wasted too much time with her boxing, and riding the bike through the city, which I understand that to have been character building, but it turned out to be a good movie. Can't wait to see where the next movie goes.

This re-booted movie has elements from the recently re-booted video game series of Tomb Raider. Those elements are mixed up which do not follow exact logic or sequence of the video games, but I like the way the director handles it so it provides surprises from time to time and show you traces of the video game as well. The only thing I do not like is the characterization of Lara Croft at the beginning where she tries to blend into commoners and refuse to admit that she is a noble. I think this is off from the setting of the video game too much.
