This Tomb Raider is based on the new games but the new games are rated mature and this is pg-13. Also the 3D is not that good.

I didn't expect too much from this movie but was good and alot of action. I will watch it over again because it is interesting.

In this movie re-boot, we get a new origin story with Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft. Unraveling the mystery behind her father's disappearance, Lara travels to a remote Pacific island. Using her puzzle-solving skills, Lara unlocks the booby-trapped tomb of Himiko and the secrets lying within. This opening salvo hints of possible sequels to come dealing with the nefarious Trinity organization and Patna Corporation.

Great effects and acting. Movie borrows heavily from the video game and then re-writes that story a bit. As a diehard fan of the series including recent two video games, I enjoyed this pop culture thrill ride. It does set up for a sequel. Angelina Jolie is still a better Tomb Raider though. I unfortunately paid $29.99 for this and it’s not a recommendation to OWN at that price. Anything at $20 or cheaper is a recommendation.

This Tomb Raider, is better than the original. The only drawback is no Angie. Good story, good acting, great action, good fun.

As history has proven, it is hard to adapt video games to movies and Tomb Raider is one such example of it being done well. Alicia Vikander does a great job as Lara Croft. I don’t have too much to say about the movie other than it surpassed my low expectations and hit all the notes it needed to. If you are a fan of the Tomb Raider series or just like adventure films then you should check this out. 4 out of 5 Stars

As with most movies based on video games, I tend to have modest or low expectations on how good the movie will actually be. With Tomb Raider I was pleasantly surprised, while obviously not a movie that is going to be considered for a Oscar it was still a decently done movie all things considered. Most people still seem to enjoy the first 2 Tomb Raider movies but I actually liked this one a little more oddly enough.

I have seen all the tomb raiders and will say that this actress beat out angelina jolie in playing lara croft. I liked how the movie kept up with the game(which is awesome if you haven't played it) and I'm already wanting the next iteration. The action was good when it happened, the 4k is awesome especially in caves and the tombs. Gave it 4 stars because the storyline is a repeat but everything else was good to go.

The movie is based on the 2011 video game of the same name. The movie takes liberties from the source material. Some characters that are in the game are completely missing in the movie. The maguffin was changed completely. Other than that the story offers a similar experience to the game. If you're into Indiana Jones style movies, give this movie a shot.

Not being an Angelina Jolie fan Vikander hits the spot. However, not the most exciting action flick I've ever seen.

It's a shame this movie did not do better at the box office because, while it might have flaws it is by far the best video game film we have gotten. The action is great with ton of fun and a good story when it comes to Lara growing into/becoming the Tomb Raider. It is Alicia Vikander though who really sells the character and the movie and I would love to see her in another one of these films.

This was a mediocre reboot of the classic movie series that was based on the video games. The whole back story about who Lara Croft was & how she evolved into the role of a larger than life heroine was kind of weak & tepid at best. Movie did have some very nicely filmed action sequences in exotic locales. Overall it's worth watching but nothing outstanding about it.

If you see the first one with Angelina Jolie, you going to likend this one, very entertaining, and a lot of action.

This just craps on everything that made the games story good. Its Tomb Raider in name only but a little fun.

You read that right! This movie has Dolby Atmos and it is great to showcase to your friends if you have the setup. The movie overall is entertaining and Alicia does a great job of making a convincing Lara Croft. I love a few of the scenes that fully utilize Dolby Atmos. You can hear a rock fall from overhead and move to the lower speakers. You hear a crack in the rocks and Lara looks over your head to where the noise came from. Must have if you have the Atmos sound system.

I purchased this movie not expecting much and I was happily surprised. This movie was much better than the Angelina Jolie movies and kept my attention from beginning to end. It even had several actors from the AMC show The Badlands, a guilty pleasure of mine that I like to watch. The acting and story were pretty good for a action/adventure movie and I would definitely recommend it.

Average movie. Not really based off of any game. But the same old predictable plot. Lara saves the world.

This is more an origin Laura Croft tomb raider movie. Still better than the Angelina Jolie tr movies though

I enjoyed the movie. Totally different from the original film but Vikander is a great choice for Lara Croft.

I saw this at the theater and wasn't disappointed. Alicia Vikander puts forth a solid performance. I have the previous Lara Croft movies with Angelina Jolie. This is every bit as good. This movie starts earlier then the first Tomb Raider movie. It gives a bit of background into Lara Croft. I hope a Tomb Raider sequel is planned. This was not quite a 5 star but better than a four.
