Not having played the video game I don't know how this compares to it but it is hard to imagine so many playing a game this boring - Alicia Vikander looks great but never quite sells the physicality the role requires - a lot of unconvincing green screen work, sluggish story, etc make this a tough slog - definitely not a movie that will get watched again anytime soon

This was good, not much of a fan of Angelina Jolie so I really liked Alicia Vikander. I also (bit of a spoiler) like the fact that she was not an expert in everything, like in the original movies. This was a better first intro into the reboot, I like to think of it as "the birth of a Tomb Raider". I look forward to the sequels, as long as they don't change the actress.

Another attempt to do a tomb raider film it is ok but not as good as the original two films.

I think that "Tomb Raider" was one of the greatest films of all-time that explores and establishes the origins and life of Lara Croft and it was also one of my favorite films of all-time. I have seen and enjoyed all of the films in the entire "Tomb Raider" film series several times and I also think that "Tomb Raider" had a lot of entertaining, exciting and enjoyable action, mystery, drama and suspense including an amazing and original personal storyline.

If you grew up playing the amazing game that was the original Tomb Raider, and were disappointed by the horrible job AJ did in the early 2000's. This is the movie for you. It gets right back to the basics of what Tomb Raider is all about. And for those not familiar with it (Like my Fiancée) This movie is packed of action and a well thought out plot to keep your interested until the credits roll. Over all really satisfied with the money I spent on it.

The film is pretty average and nothing to write home about. Alicia Vikander is great as usual

liked this movie a lot more than I thought I would. Decent action piece, and the female lead is way more believable than Angelina Jolie (even though A.J. looks more like the original game character). Blu-ray transfer good, no quality issues there. Pity the planned sequel has been cancelled.

No longer is Lara reduced to 16 bit block gazungaz and some daisy dukes. Much like the recent games, this new direction for Tomb Raider is much darker than the original concept. The visuals and action are top notch. Story is straight out of a video game but that’s to be expected but if you can look past the improbability of the story, you should be pretty pleased with the overall movie.

Not as good as the original as far as acting and the story line change again is annoying.

It was ok but the first ones was a lot better So I would watch the first one first

I've been a Tomb Raider fan since the 1st video game way back in 1996 and I've followed every game and movie since then. The newest 2013 "reboot" game was a great addition so when a new movie based on it was announced I loved the idea. This movie follows the game closely and is a marvel to watch. Of course Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft makes everything better IMO. I hope they make many more. Highly recommended!

I loved playing all the tomb raider games with the exception of the newest ones. I loved the two original tomb raider movies, so I was hesitant about this one. Turns out it's great. It's a story of how Lara evolves into the strong character of tomb raider. Now I'm anxious to play the the games. Definitely a great movie and a nice break from all the super hero movies. Don't get me wrong, I love those movies too.

It's hard to believe this movie was based on a video game. They took the story from the game, which was already a crazy story, and expanded on it. The whole story is written to give someone who has never played the game an introduction to the characters. The story lays the groundwork to make more movies and introduces a more human element to the character as she begins the journey to become the Tomb Raider.

Tomb Raider was a so-so movie, made much better the the Amazing Alicia Vikander.

Wasn’t sure how I’d like the movie without the real tomb raider Jolie. The new actress turned out to be better than I thought and as the movie plot continued I understood why the director picked a different actress. It was action packed. I wonder where they go from here (they left an opening)?

My expectations were low. Note: this is nothing ground breaking. Tomb Raider is a film that will not make any top lists for the year, but I predict will live strong as a constant watcher. It is entertaining, well paced, choreographed well, and avoids an overwhelming use of CGI. The perfect film for lazy afternoon watching. This could be the beginning of a much better franchise than its predecessor.

Its not a bad movie, but it couldve been done a lot better. Good action though
