Not as good of movie as I remembered. I thought it was a better movie to watch.

Overrated. Not my kind of western but Val Kilmer is great.

This is one of my all time favorite movies, but the quality of this DVD it's not so great. Picture is condensed and small. Was going to return but not really worth the process.

Classic modern western with Val Kilmer at his best.

For a western that comes between the original era of westerns with the likes of John Wayne, and Clint Eastwood and...making cowboy movies based on Samurai movies originally done by Akria Kurosawa; and this new attempt at a resurgence, Tombstone was a pretty good western, and pretty good as a movie in general. It's almost completely inaccurate, aside from people's names a few storylines and the shootout at the O.K. Corral, but it's still good. Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday got most of the good lines and pretty much just owned the movie. Kurt Russell was good, but he's better in John Carpenter movies. Overall though the entire cast was pretty good at playing their roles. It's not exactly Shakespearean or even equal to some of the earlier wetserns, but for it's time it's one of the best of it's kind and it's worth it for the characters and just being an enjoyable ride.

My wife and I love this movie! We aren't exactly fans of westerns. In fact, as movie collectors, we have around 2,000 DVDs. Out of that, only a dozen are westerns. In other words, it has to be really good! Tombstone is probably the best western ever made, in my opinion, next to Unforgiven with Clint Eastwood. If you like westerns, you've probably already seen it. If you're not fond of westerns like us, you need to watch this one! Trust me, it's worth it! Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer are at thier best! I highly recommend this film! Also, there's an alternate version of this film entitled Wyatt Earp, starring Kevin Costner and Dennis Quaid.

Chances are you’ve seen this movie or heard about it many times, so I won’t bother with reviewing it. The movie itself is a modern classic, the blu is.....decent. PQ is in and out. There are times it looks fantastic, and others it looks like I’m watching the dvd. The AQ is fantastic. If you have a 5.1, it sounds great. Gunshots are loud, horse chases sound fantastic, the overall surround is great. The other odd thing is the omission of the director commentary and the directors cut (which was only a few added scenes). If you have the old 2 disc dvd set, keep it for the extras. This is the best Tombstone has looked and sounded, so worth the upgrade for >$10.

The best western ever made, period. This movie made alot of people start watching westerns more, especially those that didn't like them in the first place. Kurt Russell is the star, but Val Kilmer stole the movie with his role as Doc Holiday. This director's cut is better, because they put about four extra scene in the movie (not delete scenes). Dare I say, "Greatness"

Modern westerns FTW. Kurt Russel, Val Kilmer, Bill Paxton, Sam Elloit and Michael Biehn. Could you ask for a better cast? I think not. It goes without saying that this beats the heck out of the ego-fest that is Wyatt Earp, courtesy of Kevin "I'm so awesome even though I can't do a country accent to save my life" Costner. I suspect that the only other modern western that will be on par with this is the remake of 3:10 To Yuma, which I shall see soon.

The authentic western environment was perfect. The acting was perfect. It was action packed, exciting and also, funny at times. I do not like westerns. But, this movie is the exception to my rule. I have watched it so many times that I have to purchase a new one. Over use.

This is a great film with widely appreciated actors (including a small part from Billy Bob Thornton-Actor and Director of Sling Blade) playing characters across a full spectrum of behavior, intelligence, and wisdom. From the Clever and quirky to the slow and dull-minded... Men of action and men of in-action... Good vs. Evil.

This movie is the greatest western ever made, it has a great cast of actors, Kurt Russel, Val Kilmer, Sam Elliot and a slew of other great actors. It also had some great action sequences, music score and Cinematography. The DVD has some great special features including 7 deleted scenes, all of them great. Its well worth it.

Val Kilmer is at his absolute best in this movie. That aside, the rest of the movie is fantastic. That's all I can really say. It's an all-time favorite of mine.

This is an outstanding western film and almost everything about this set is wonderful, the only setback being the theatrical version is not included. I enjoy director's cuts as much as anyone, but when you are paying this kind of money for a special edition dvd, you should get both versions of the film, you shouldn't have to buy separate dvd's.

Val Kilmer does an exceptional acting job in this move as Doc Holiday. His performance alone would be enough of a reason to see this movie. But, they do a really great job with this classic western story and it's one of my favorites. See it!

this was a great movie, one of my all time fav's! Val Kilmer & Kurt Russell were so good in this movie I can't believe how good they really where together! you should buy this movie because it is one of the best westerns out there today!

There is no movie like this one. Val Kilmer is superb in this film as well as the rest of the staff. This movie is a must buy for collectors and I have both formats now. I will watch over and over until I wear them out.

Classic western good guys - bad guys AND ALL THE GOOD GUYS ARE GREAT!!!

i don't necessarily like westerns but this movie was fantastic. great acting and val kilmer stole the show. i have watched this movie many times and still love it...and still get choked up at the end.

I'm not a big fan of westerns but this movie is one of my all time favorites!! Great cast and Val Kilmer is EXCELLENT in the movie.
