I have been in the market for a running watch for a couple months and have done a lot of research and have read so many reviews. I settled on this watch after having read other reviews at other sites and the Map My Run sync. I have used it on a number of runs and one race so far, the watch has worked flawlessly! It has picked up the GPS signal quickly, even in Boston for the BAA 5k. The sync to the MMR app and my iPhone is also quick and simple. The size is perfect for me, it is easy to use during a run and the screen size is perfect to see without squinting. If you have smaller wrists I can see it being big, but the strap is comfortable and has many options for sizing. The battery life has been great too, I have charged it only two times... Overall this watch is perfect for me.

I had to replace my Motorola GPS watch and I was on a budget. I did a lot of online research and decided to go with the TomTom. I use it for running. It's easy to use and quickly connects to the GPS. It has a goal feature that allows you to choose distance, speed, etc. You can choose multiple display options such as avg. pace, total time, lap time, distance. Very impressed with the battery life. Please be aware that this watch needs to upload your run to a computer via USB or a portable device (phone, tablet) by Bluetooth. It pairs with my android phone pretty quickly. This is the only con that I have found you can not get detailed info (lap times, pace) directly on the watch.

I love the Runner... I was using my iPhone to map my runs using the GPS, but wanted something less bulky to track my runs. The TomTom Runner is great... lightweight, easy to use and tracks as well as my iPhone did.

The watch works well, gps finds you fast, fits well, and easy to read and use.It displays instance stats during your workouts The only problem I found was the Tom Tom software. You have to upload your run data after your runs, so you don't get instant results once you stop your workout. If you have the app you can load it to your phone ,but it takes a long time to load around 30 mins -1 hour. It only works with your phone or computer, no tablets. If your use to map my run or strava it might drive you crazy at first, but you will get use to it. Once you upload, the actual program that displays your runs is good and really informative. Still a good buy all the way around I have 2 friends with other Tom Tom watches and they agree, the software is the only downfall.

Owned for about a month. Typically gets a quick GPS signal, but when just in downtown New Orleans it took a couple minutes to lock on due to all the buildings. Comfortable to wear. Keeps good track. Love how it pairs to my phone app and I can see the actual map of the route, stride per minute, avg pace per mile, etc. after the run. Directions included aren't the best so it does take a little effort to get set up. Only thing I don't like is that it doesn't give your overall avg mile pace. It figures the average pace for each mile and gives an average pace. This is different than overall time divided by overall distance to get your pace per mile. This is my only real issue with the watch. Make sure you turn it back to the time...otherwise, if left in GPS mode, you will have to charge every day. I only charge every 3-4 days. I'm an almost 4-mile daily runner.

Excellent watch for those looking for the basics in a running GPS watch. Connects fast, and is accurate enough for me! Inexpensive and easy to use. I've had it for 3 months. The only thing I wish were different, and that's because I have the need for reading glasses, would be the size of the numbers. The main set of numbers are huge, so no problem there, but the other two sets of numbers on top (metrics) could be a little larger and the main set of numbers smaller.

I had been running with The Nike+ watch for years, and when it finally broke I decided to go with the TomTom. I love the design and the ease of use, but most importantly, I love the compatibility it has with the Nike running apps. I definitely did not want to lose my running history! The feature that truly made me a convert was the ability to sync the GPS and all my runs through my iPhone via Bluetooth. No more lugging my computer with me to races!

I purchased the Tom Tom GPS watch specifically for running and I really couldn't be more happy with my purchase. The watch is a little big for my wrist but I only use it while running so I enjoy the large readout but for me it doesn't work as an everyday accessory. I also really enjoy how easily it syncs my running information with the app I use. After initial set up I only have to plug the watch in my computer for 30 seconds for it to sync and nothing else is required. My only gripe is that whenever I plug in the watch to my computer it reverts back to military time and I can't figure out why and I have to change it back every time. Otherwise I'd probably give this product 5 stars but overall perfect for my needs and at a great price point.

      MMMM,

It sounds like you're having a good time using your Runner watch! Thanks for this review. We love that you're syncing the watch with your app of choice, and managing to update it easily.

Give us a call and we'll take a look at why the watch reverts back to military time - 877-757-7137 (Monday - Friday: 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST).

For now, enjoy your workouts with the watch. Cheers,

I purchase this watch because I just wanted an accessory to track my mileage and didn't care about activity tracking nor did I want to carry my phone with me on my runs. Here are my thoughts: Accuracy: Same accuracy as other GPS units and is dead on with trail markings. Battery life: Good battery life. My runs usually last an hour and I can get 7 runs in before the battery is pretty low. Relatively slow recharging though. Syncing: This is where is gets messy. On iOS, I have to make sure that I go in a specific order or it will not give me the sync icon on the watch or it will drop sync. I start with bluetooth off and the app not running. On the watch I go to phone then turn the sync on. On my phone, I then open the TomTom app then go to settings to turn on bluetooth. If I do that in a specific order, it will sync with no issues. TomTom app: Straight forward with all the basic info. Elevation, pace, splits, time, distance. Auto syncs with new Nike Run Club and Runkeeper. There are more but I do not use them. When you open those apps, the run has already registered. Hint: If you want to get a notification through the watch at certain intervals time or distance, use the lap mode. Even though I don't run on a track, I set my watch to vibrate at every half mile. You can also set it to vibrate every so many minutes. I like this feature as I know how far I am running without looking down at the watch. Overall: Nice, inexpensive, accurate, syncing issues.

The size of the watch is perfect - very low profile and comfortable on the wrist. If you sync every three days it will pick up satellite connections very fast. I like that I can wear it as an everyday watch as well as my fitness tracker. Menu navigation is very easy. Nice large display that is easy to read.

I like this watch because I can see my elapsed time and distance on the face. You can set it to show Duration, Distance, Speed without the use of a computer or phone. Just use use the square thing on the band and follow the onscreen prompts. I walk 4 miles a day on a trail and it makes it easy to keep track of my mileage and time. When I get home the watch connects to the iPad via Bluetooth, and then I have a readout of my stats and a map of my walk on the TomTom Mysports app. I would say the Runner is easy to use with some practice.

It's a good GPS watch. However, it's expensive for a GPS watch that you can not get email/text notifications, etc like a smart watch.

Let me start off with the pace that is set by the watch. I was running a physical fitness test that consist of 3 miles. It was very important for me to track my pace to know what my 1.5 mile mark going to be. As some of the runners and myself took off it kept on telling me the pace I was running at was a 6:28 minute mile. Granted I shouldn't let technology tell me everything, since it didn't feel like that pace. I trusted it though and kept goin on that pace. When we hit the 1.5 mile marker we were at 10:30 or 11:10 minutes according to the score keepers. So be wary of the pace that this GPS watch tells you. Other than that it's pretty light weight, and the style of the watch is nice. I wore it as a daily normal watch without looking weird. Plus it accurately sets the time according to GPS. I love the backlight feature for night time. It works just great. You can also turn it on and off to conserve energy. Connection to my phone (Samsung Galaxy S6 Sprint) was a breeze and didn't take more than 2 minutes honestly. Pretty secure connection with the pin requirement. Connecting to a computer through the supplied cable was a breeze too. All you have to do is simply download the application on to your computer from the TomTom website listed in the User Manual and you're set. It'll ask to update your watch and it lets you know if your watch needs an update or if it's up to date. (This could possibly be a reason that the pace counter was off.) I love that the wristband is interchangable too. The style is overall great. Just be wary about the pace count if you get this model in my opinion.

Hi there. What you're describing should not happen and it sounds like your watch may be on demo mode. You can turn off the demo mode by pressing down on the clock screen, selecting options, selecting demo, and selecting off. This should allow you to get the best real time stats on your watch. I hope this helps improve your experience! TomTomInc.
