Customers recognize that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 has positive aspects such as enjoyable gameplay, intuitive controls, and a great soundtrack. However, many feel the game is significantly hampered by repetitive gameplay, numerous glitches, and a high price point relative to the content offered. The level design also received criticism for being uninspired. While some players enjoyed the online features, the lack of a story mode was a point of contention.

I have no idea how this game works. When I load it Into my ps4 pro it makes loud noises as if it's ripping my machine apart. I returned it and got another disk thinking it was just a fluke. Nope. Same issue.

Considering the quality of the original few releases of THPS, this is clearly an attempt at a nostalgia to cover past due alimony or something - avoid this at all costs. Where is SKATE 4?

You I'm a THPS veteran. I've played them before I could even talk. I've played almost all.
This one sadly does not meet with my expectations. This has to be the worst main THPS title I've ever played. Most of the gameplay is fast, which is good, but it also feels unnatural and downright annoying at times. The physics are still very strange and unnatural. The music is amazing, no lie there. I enjoyed every song in the soundtrack, but it doesn't tell me what song is playing, so I have to take wild guesses as to what's playing.
Create a Park is amazing. I loved it, but create a skater was basically replacing an existing skater over, which I find very lazy and boring.
Even worse, you only had preset heads and clothing. And most of the clothes is just recolors. Level design is okay but feels boring, most notably School III and Bunker. It feels old and not in a good way.
Graphics are okay, but it doesn't really matter. Slam button is really annoying and special bank is not very good. You can basically never bail now. Leaned too much to the left, you just end you grind and so on.
Basically, the only way to bail is if you land sideways. I feel like this game was a cheap, pandering, lazy, cash grabbing, uninspiring idea that Activison probably only did this for the money and nothing else.

Classic Series Gone Downhil

THPS Series was a major hit in its early days, but this addition has failed to capture my attention. THPS5 is riddled with small glitches and is a stripped down version of the original games. It seems the developers decided to do the bare minimum to turn a profit.
I have played nearly every skateboarding game on Playstation and Xbox to date and I'd honestly rather see EA SKATE 4 in the works. I only purchased this game, because of nostalgia - it was also $25 on Black Friday, so I couldn't pass up on that deal. My rating is 2.5/5.

Being a huge fan of the old games I was really looking forward to this game and I wasn't that impressed. The level design's aren't that great, the challenges are annoying, the multiplayer isn't that great (they took out graffiti, really?) and it also seems that not many people actually do multiplayer games, they just free-skate. The graphics aren't the best but that really wouldn't bother me at all if the game was better.

I used to love me some Tony Hawk. But now everything feels off. The controls are ok but the physics are all off. some ramps shoot you way up in the sky while other just barely boost you or even cause you to slow down. some animation are awful or choppy. if you fall (which you will) your character does this stupid rag doll fall in the most awkward position and on top of that, instead of an animation of your character getting standing back up the screen just whites out and your character is back on his board. Is this game worth $60..... no. Maybe pick it up on sale. I've only played it about 15 mintues after I bought it but thats all i needed to know before i return it today. Its not the same

I picked this up on release date just because I'm an old tony hawk fan (since the original in 1999, 16 years ago, I feel old) If you were a fan of THPS 1 and 2 you will find lots to love here, if you are a newer gamer TH Underground and newer it may not be your style. First off let's adress graphics since that seems to be biggest concern. I read all over that this looked like ps2 garbage. I have to disagree I played Proving Ground (PS3) right before I went to the store to buy this and THPS 5 looks a million times better than that and that's the most recent Tony Hawk (that matters). The graphics are borderlands esque cel-shade look which is weird but it grows on you. The game play plays just like the first 2 except now in between missions it kicks out out to free skate (slightly annoying) only to let you start a new one after. It's weird how they are separated like that. The physics have some bugs but every tony hawk game has.the most annoying part of the game is the new "slam" feature, which basically slams tour board down while in the air using the grind button. This can be a royal pain if your use to doing a combo and pre prepping for the grind while mid air, because it will slam you down before the rail and mess up your combo, might just be something I need to get use to. If you liked the original 2 I'd say pick this up I think you'll like it as much as I do :) Overall 7.5/10 from me and I actually PLAY a lot of games unlike some people *cough*"professional reviewers"*cough*

Played this game for about 2 hours. It is a broken mess. There are moments where it almost feels like the THPS of old, but for the most part it feels unfinished and is worth nowhere near $60.

I bought this game expecting a mix of both new and old (game-style) but it has 7/10 graphics and that took alot from the gameplay. If your a true TH Fan, buy it. If your new to THPS I wouldn't recommend it.

This game is banking off of nostalgia and does not hit me in the right notes. It feels empty. Get it for the name , but it isn't as good as the old ones.

This game isn't anything like Pro Skater 1-4. I guess they were trying to revive the franchise but the missed the mark. I would have rather played pro skater 1-4 and underground 1-2 in HD than this. It's buggy.

I bought this game because I love Goat Simulator but I wanted a skateboard mod. Saw some gameplay of this and immediately realized this was the real deal. It's practically the same thing but I have to say $60 is a little steep.
