adequate sound, very good picture detail. I notice that it seems to take time to focus the image when using netflix, may need some service. Impressively light weight and easy to position

I am giving this 3 stars only because of the price and that it is an entry level 4k tv. if it were more expensive it might be down to 2 or 1 depending on price. As the title says, this tv is great with the lights on or during day time tv watching. The tv is bright enough to overcome natural or artificial light in a room. The following was reviewed in Standard Picture mode with Sharpness all the way down, Temperature at Medium and all of the Advanced Settings turned off. I thought the cable (720p/1080i) upscaled was average looking, nothing to get excited about. I plugged in an Amazon Fire Stick (1080p) and this made the tv rock! Kung Fu Panda 3 and Marco Polo (tv series) both looked amazing. Exceptional detail. First time using Google Cast and once u get past the fact u r using ur phone or tablet to send the material, i thought it worked quite well. I had the tv hardwired to my router so i can not talk about wifi connection. I looked up 4k videos on YouTube and u quickly realize, not many are true 4k(2160P). Most show up as 1440p. I have never been a fan of YouTube's quality, and this didnt change my mind. I must find better 4k material to judge its ability in 4k. Now the problem with the tv is when watching in the dark. when the movie/tv show shifts scenes i got to see a big X from the light source of the tv from one edge of the screen to the other. Now most may not notice this, but it drove me crazy. in the process of returning and trying another one to give the tv the benefit of the doubt. I will adjust the rating if it was just a bad panel. We purchased this Toshiba to replace a 10 year old TV. The picture is crystal clear and the TV had the options we needed at a great price point. We use other devices to stream most online content so we did not need the full gamut of smart TV options. This TV does allow us to stream using Chromecast apps which is an awesome option as we have the apps we need on our smart phones and a lot of our guests do as well. The Chromcast is built right into the television. The sound on this TV is very good considering how thin it is. Looks great hung on the wall would definitely recommend.

This is probably the best bang for yuh buck! Tv works great, integrated chrome cast works smooth, never have I had any issues with my tv! Picture quality is incredible!

Very happy with t.v. and great price.The quality was Great and we would recommend this t.v. to everyone. My son purchased one for him and his girlfriend. We told are neighbors as there t.v. blew yesterday. Easy setup and coming with Chrome cast was another selling point. Our Salesperson was very good also.

I'm watching mostly broadcast TV the controller doesn't have a numbers on it. Have to arrow through all the channels. The picture is so clear that even old TV shows look like they were shot on DVD deeper depth of field. Gives everything more but shot on video feel. Sports is unreal. A good unreal.

Excellent picture and sound for a low price 55" 4K Ultra TV. Not a Smart TV as listed. Chromecast is a waste as it is not 4K quality. Add a 4K Ultra Roku device and it is a really great combo. The remote is poorly designed.

We have a part time apartment in an urban area north of where we live. I have stocked it with the basics I like to have when I am there for business or visiting family. When I saw this set on sale I decided to purchase it to replace the ten year old set se had there. This has all the connections you need, is super light weight and the picture looks great! The sound is OK (none of the flat panel TVs have great speakers in them), so I use the old sound system we had at home before we replaced that set a couple of years ago and bought a new sound bar for it. I would highly recommend!

The picture quality and the built in Chromecast make this TV a great buy at this price point. This was purchased to be used at work for training classes and the Chromecast makes connecting any computer to it simple. I like this tv so much that I am going to buy one to use at home.

This TV was purchased to replace a 32'' big back picture tube TV. Compared to that one, this is a IMAX screen. Toshiba is considered a mid to low level manufacturer at this point, but this TV was inexpensive and came with GoogleCast, so we gave it a try. So far, it has worked out well. The picture is good, but not spectacular. Some adjusting of the colors and brightness may be needed when setting up the unit. The volume is clear but not overbearing when the volume is turned up. GoogleCast is fine, but is not used a lot right now. In the future, this should come in handy.

Picture quality is great for the price the speakers are above average the only down fall is the controller has no numbers to directly change the channel

Don't spend hundreds upon hundreds on a TV when u can buy this 55" Toshiba for half of what others cost. Yet this TV has no bad qualities abt it. Beautiful clear picture, chromecast is their version of a smart TV. Not hard to figure out. U can't go wrong! Definitely worth it.

The t.v. has a great picture and the built in Chromecast makes it so easy to watch anything from my iPhone.

Considering that some of the 1080p TVs on display cost more than this 4k TV, I figured it would be a good value. It took a little while to get it working right (I had to swap out my old HDMI cable because it couldn't transfer data fast enough from my PS3) and once I did the picture looked great. Chromecast works okay, though I get a little stuttering when streaming something from my computer to the TV via Amazon Prime Video. Remote control doesn't have numeric buttons, oddly enough. But I suppose you're going to be using your cable box's remote anyway.

This is my 3rd Toshiba HDTV. Lets face it, most of us use a TV as a monitor,so, all the extras are just flashy advertisements to make us think we have to have more! The 4K picture is great and is a slight improvement from 1080 HDTV, until we get more 4K broadcast, the difference isn't much, but is a bit better. This TV has Great sound on it's own. I run mine through a massive Sony system and when I first starting watching regular TV on this unit, I forgot to turn of the speakers and was amazed when I realized I was listening to the TV and not my stereo. This unit reacts perfectly with my Sony 4K upgrade DVD player and Netflix and casting from my phone works awesome. Don't ever overlook these lower priced units. The reason the cost is low for a high quality product is..."When is the last time you saw a Toshiba Commercial" That's right folks, they don't advertise, they pass on the savings to us. I love it. Watch for these as Deal of the day!

I was looking for a 50-55 inch tv for my new living room. This Toshiba was great because the picture is good and it came with built in chrome cast.

For the last 12 years, I have bought plasma TV's. I was truly disappointed when my living room TV died. It seems that plasma TV's are no longer made. After doing my research I decided it was time to upgrade and decided to buy this 4k TV. In order to get the full effect of the TV when I am watching Blu Rays, I decided to buy a PS4. The picture quality is great as I feel like I am right there in the movie. I have one complaint: the volume is too low. It seems that the volume box is at the bottom of the TV and therefore, one cannot really hear too good. This was easily fixed as I bought a sound bar and that took care of the problem. I bought a Vizio sound bar that features powerful speakers paired with a wireless subwoofer, delivering booming sound with crystal-clear audio quality. One caution: some channels can give a static at the top of the picture. This is random and it seems that it is the cable company issue.

This tv is a full 55" high definition black screen with ChromeCast. And it works beautifully! Clear, crisp picture, good sound and all for a price unheard for this size tv. I bought it for the price, and found it is a superb picture. I could not be more pleased!

Good tv. Looks good and it was a good buy. Only negative is that if you barely touch the remote it will turn on the tv or change the input.

Not only is this an excellent television, it was amazing for the price offered. I bought it just before Christmas, and find it amazing that you can get a 4K TV for less than available at Costco at Best Buy! Great job guys, and a wonderful value for the money.
