I got this TV in a Black Friday deal. It was an awesome deal. The Tv works perfectly with excellent picture quality, although refresh rates are nothing to write home about. It has accurate color representation and the sound seems good for a small living room. I don't think I am going to buy speakers for the TV because he sound is so loud. Would highly recommend the TV, deal or no deal.

Good price. As I use the google ecosystem the chrome cast built in is a plus. The 4K is great. The assembly was easy. You do want a second person to help you lift the "tv bag" out of the box and for final placement. It is a light tv but I wanted to be careful with the new purchase.
I have cast YouTube from my phone to the tv and from a chrome browser window to the tv. Works well.
The chrome cast is its own "channel" when you cycle inputs on the tv.
the tv is connected to my wifi and I get good 4K with it. Right now this is the only way to get 4K for me because the XboxOne doesn't support 4K so we cast from a stream to the tv.
The majority of content we display for now is 1080 and it looks fine on this tv.

Black Friday Doorbuster Reviewer :
On Thanksgiving Day, I went to wait in line on Best Buy for the SHARP 50” 4K TV for $180. That was a deal of a lifetime. Unfortunately, they were already sold out by the time I went into the store. Feeling defeated, I vowed to come back early on Friday & go for the Toshiba 55” 4K TV for $280. So, I drove to BB at 5:30am, waited in the car until 6am and then got on line. Waited 2 hours in the cold but it was so worth it because when I brought that baby back home, I fell in love with it. Like actually seeing my baby for the first time. (which I don’t have yet) Every night I turn it on just to stare at how gorgeous it looks.
I thought the 5 inches wouldn’t make a difference and it’s true. The 55” is amazing especially the 4K. I play my XBOX ONE & PS4 games on here & the quality is just amazing. The details that this TV provides. It’s also very thin so it fits anywhere very nicely oh, and also it comes with CHROMECAST built in. Now, I can just cast my NETFLIX, SPOTIFY, YOUTUBE or HBO anytime. This TV is a great model and so far, no problems so hopefully it’ll stay that way. Other than that, I am very satisfied and can’t wait to go home to see my baby.

The picture on this unit is very good and the sound is better than I expect for a thin TV. For $450 it is a great TV. The only serious problem is that the screen is extremely fragile. The packaging makes a big deal of not touching the screen. It is in a huge plastic bag the says all over it to only lift the unit by the bag only. I thought we were carefull but the first unit we installed was cracked when we turned it on so we had to return it, which Best Buy quickly exchanged. Next time I would let them install it.

Bought 2 of these on Black Friday 2017 at $278 a pop. Solid TV's with exceptional picture quality and decent sound. Only thing I do not like is the remote that came with it. Had to purchase another remote with numerical digits. Chromecast works well but havent really used it much. I use a Sony 4K player on it and the picture is truly fantastic.
Never owned a Toshiba but after almost 2 years, I'd recommend it!

Solid TV, few quirks

I bought this tv on black friday, so the deal I got on this TV was amazing and I cannot complain about pretty much anything at that price. However, there are a few quirks that have been a little irritating.
1. When plugging in headphones into the 3.5mm out port works as expected, however when I take them out and want it to switch back to the optical audio out it for some reason doesn't auto switch. I had to either turn the tv off and back on again for it to work or go into the sound settings and turn speakers off and back on again, then the soundbar attached to my optical audio worked great. Small thing, but not sure why that happens.
2. Chromecast kept disconnecting from my phone and I would have to recast to the tv, this could been fault to the tv and possibly just the apps I was using but, still annoying.
Still wish apple had built in support for chrome cast on iOS but Obviously that is wishful thinking and won't ever happen because they want you to buy an apple tv.
Another thing I wish I could do is run this tv 4k@60hz through my MacBook pro. The tv itself doesn't have many options but I assume this is also an apple issue, because they don't support that refresh rate to this tv when connected over hdmi, maybe if this tv had display port it would be possible.
Overall great Picture, and games through my xbox one s look incredible.

We purchased this TV during Black Friday on a fantastic deal, so we weren't going into this with very high expectations. We were excited to be getting a larger TV than we had before, and VERY excited about the built-in Chromecast (as this would open an HDMI slot for us). We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of picture and numerous options for getting coloring how we like it.
I took off 1 star because of an issue we had a few weeks after using the TV. We started to notice that the red power light was blinking anytime the TV was on. We did research and found out that the blinking light is like an error code of sorts, but couldn't find any information about WHAT error our TV was having. Out of no where our TV started doing an update to the firmware, which solved the issue... but it was frustrating to know we had an error but no way of disciphering what the error was. The issue seems to be resolved and we're enjoying the TV now, but we are keeping an eye on the light.

I was amazed at how good the picture was and I didn’t have to spend as much as an L Samsung or Sony would have cost. The 4 K video is excellent. Setting up the system was easy

So far I enjoy it, though I've only spent about an hour watching it since mounting it on my wall. The tv itself is nice, and the built in Chromecast works great. It was nice that accessibility was defaulted to have a voice tell me what menu I was on, etc. but it was annoying since I don't need that feature and I immediately turned it off.
The one downfall was with mounting the tv. The mount I bought from Rocketfish came with a bunch of screws of various sizes to accommodate the tv, but one of the screw holes had misaligned treads in it, thus I had to go to the hardware store to purchase screws of the correct length.
To describe the issue further, there were four holes for mounting screws. The top two holes the treads weren't at the edge of the hole (the screw didn't have to screw in until it was in the hole a bit). One of those top holes the tread was misaligned, and the screw wouldn't reach the tread at all. Not sure why the screw treads couldn't all be at the same depth of the screw holes.
For those mounting the tv, you might run into the hassle I noted, which was the reason for the lack of star on my rating.

Great TV for a great price. Upscaling makes even 720p look beautiful and full 4k content is gorgeous. Speakers sound great as well! Chromecast built is only a bonus that makes this a must have for me.

Picked up this TV knowing the refresh rate was 60htz. However, when you think about it, how often are you watching action sequence anyway. Also, since I'm not a sports fan, the tv works very well for me. I don't use it for games either so, no problem there. The picture is very clear. Could it be better? Of course, but was I willing to pay $3k for a QLED or an OLED. I'm not that picky, I'd rather have a better car or go on a longer vacation than buy a $3 thousand dollar TV.
If you are conscious on what you spend, this is,an outstanding TV hands down. If you like living beyond your means, then more power to you, be happy with your choice and don't let anyone pressure you into a different choice.

I picked up this tv as a black Friday doorbuster. It was $279 but I believe regular price is $499. Either way, I think this is an amazing 4k tv for $500. 55" and has chromecast. Now it's not a smart tv per say. The apps aren't built in but you can mirror the apps through your phone so any app works. And in case the app doesn't work with chromecast, chromecast has an option to mirror your phone screen to your tv. So i would say it's better than any smart tv as long as you have a smart phone or a tablet. My only complaint is that its not a chromecast ultra.

This is Chromecast and not Smart Wifi. This means a cell phone with apps is required to watch Netflix. I have Firestick for streaming and an antenna for local stations so Chromecast was not an issue compared to the cost saving. Since I am using an antenna, switching between channels is a little inconvenience because there is no numbers or recall function on the remote; but, channel + and channel - toggles through the stations relatively quickly.

First 4K tv

The picture quality is fantastic! This the first 4k tv I've ever owned.
It's one thing to see them in stores and yeah they look amazing, but you never know for sure what it's like until you actually watch the content YOU enjoy in your own home. The sound coming out of it is surprisingly balanced and full. It gets decently loud without much distortion. By no means will it be better then having a actual decent sound system obviously, but it holds up for now. The built in chromecast is one of the main reasons I chose this tv and it worked great when I first set it up. Recently however, I'm having problems with using it on my iPhone 8 plus and apps like youtube, netflix, and crunchyrooll. It will connect when I launch the app but not play what I select. Or sometimes it will work on say, a youtube video and when I want to switch to netflix or even just play another video on youtube, the screen is stuck on the splash screen for youtube. I can't disconnect and go back to the home screen and rebooting the tv to get it to work is hit or miss.. Not sure if it's my phone or the tv. I've tried setting up from new after defaulting the tv but I'm still seeing the same problem.
All in all a great tv in terms of picture quality, but this chromecast issue is weird.
