It hold a lot of data and it's very reliable. This is my second one. I use to by another brand of drive that gets burned out in 6 to 10 months. This drive goes to sleep mode when not being accessed, and this will prevent the drive from burning out.

One day though it just crashed. Wouldn't recognize on my Mac to let me open it. It also was a rather flimsy metal casing. And brushed metal actually scratched easily :( don't be swayed by the "cloud storage" offered either. Nothing special. I suggest one of the other plastic encased toshiba drives. I've had much better luck with it.

I understand that you prefer the Canvio models with plastic casing but just want to assure you that the quality of this model is commensurate with those.
If your drive has crashed you can initiate Toshiba's warranty replacement process at acclaim.toshiba.com anytime within its 3-year warranty.

Said 1TB will keep everything safe and sound....hopes he never has to rely on it, but glad very glad he has it. In an upload and download test is was much faster than expected!

Too many bad clusters. Beware don't waste your money. I used them to backup important files don't trust this brand anymore.
