An OK DVD Recorder with a major problem. The volume of the recording is about half of the volume of the input. It also can't record widescreen. Anything that is already widescreen is recorded as 4:3 with the black bars at the top or bottom. My TV at least can overcome this by going to the Zoom aspect.

Product is bumb, not too big on it. I have a 46" Samsung LCD LN46B53P7FX and have to change the picture size and the color with every movie. Don't buy this DVD, it's picture to upgrade is not good, but it has 1 HDMI. I have cable and the connections were made great because I used to work For Best Buy, and I know how to do this. I have a 42" in the bedroom that works better with a 42", and it's amazing. The DVD player that I bought said "FACTORY NEW with Warranty" and I can't do that, bought it on eBaby. Don't be fooled! I don't like the pic from the TV to DVD quality, it's just a waste of money. Then again, I got it on ebay, so, I'm sorry if I sound bias. Players and TV's should come set. I guess I got a bad DVD! I would NOT recommend this player/recorder, being that my next door neighbor has one too, and it doesn't work on hers.

Don't bother! This unit DIED on day 91 after purchase. As such, Toshiba USA Customer "Service" (I use the term loosely) did everything they could to make it difficult to receive a replacement (Including $50 payment because the unit didn't die 1 day sooner). It would have been cheaper to buy a unit at twice this unit's cost and save the time and hassle of trying to get Toshiba USA to satisfactorily stand behind their product. NEVER AGAIN! Not only would I NOT recommend this item to a friend? I wouldn't recommend it to an enemy.

Toshiba DVD recorder makes high pitch noise when in the menu area. I Sent it back to Toshiba. They sent me a new one. The new one makes the same high pitch noise.

The specifications for this unit state that it can write both +R dual layer & -R dual layer disks. When picked up the unit at the store, I noticed that the box didn't show any Dual Layer features on the box. When I got home and opened the manual, I learned that the website was incorrect. So I had to make a 30 mile trek back to the store to return it. I wish Best Buy was more careful with their website, they wasted my time and gas so I am kind of miffed...

this is the worst piece of garbage I have ever seen, I bought it to record off cable, and there is no way to plug cable to it, you have to purchase a seperate tunner which you cannot get from best buy, and if you do not have a high def tv you can not plug it into the tv either. avoid this piece of garbage like the plauge

I had a hard time understanding the directions and I am the one who knows how to install things. Also, I couldnt figure out how to get it to work with my cable system, no help from the instructions either. I had to bring it back to the store for a refund. I would not recommend this dvd recorder to anybody.

You have to watch the same show you record!!!. This totally defeats the purpose of having a DVD recorder. This was suppose to replace my VCR. Ya right.

Recorded DVDs do not work in any regular DVDs.
