I have always found Toshiba laptops to be reliable for the work I do. I do not usually play games or watch a lot of videos on them. This is the fourth Toshiba laptop I have purchased (others I purchased for my kids for school...one of them used his through high school and is still using the same one for college work). They just keep right on working.

I bought this online and it has been a disaster. It was infected and the Geek Squad was not help. They refused to work on the infected computer and it did NOT come with the disk to help alleviate the problem.

An excellent computer. Has good speed and specs for a budget laptop!
Not the most powerful but good in a situation where an ok computer is needed. Not the best in gaming.

I have only had this laptop for a couple weeks and it has froze. It will not unfreeze so I will be returning it. I was told Intel Celeron isn't the best either so maybe this is the reason. I am so disappointed.

Thank you for the review, kimbo23, and sorry to hear that your Satellite C55-B5240X seems to have frozen up.
System freezes or crashes can be due to hardware failure, but are most frequently caused by software issues. Possibilities include critical system file corruption, incompatible driver installation, unstable applications, and malware infection, among others. If it seems like the computer won't unfreeze because turning the power on & off seems to have no effect, that probably means that the computer is actually going into Sleep mode when you intend to turn it off. When Windows is frozen, you can actually wake it from Sleep and continue to be in the frozen state, and if that happens you'll want to perform a "hard" power cycle -- forcing a complete shutdown from which you can then boot Windows.
See Toshiba's knowledge base article at support.toshiba.com/support/viewContentDetail?contentId=4006186 for details on how to perform soft and hard power cycles. I also recommend viewing the videos embedded in the Toshiba Forums community knowledge base article at forums.toshiba.com/t5/Batteries-and-Power-Knowledge/How-To-Performing-a-power-cycle-on-a-Toshiba-laptop/ta-p/331424 for details explaining how to perform power cycles.
Resolving the frozen state with a hard power cycle doesn't address how it got in that state in the first place. While it may have been a fluke which won't recur, if it does happen again then I recommend performing a Windows Reset (reverting to the original factory software installation.) A Reset will resolve any problem introduced by software installations or configuration changes. See the Toshiba Forums community knowledge base article (including a video summary) at forums.toshiba.com/t5/System-Recovery-and-Recovery/How-To-Understanding-System-Restore-Refresh-Reset-and-Recovery/ta-p/342690 for detailed instructions on performing a Windows Reset.
Regarding the Intel Celeron processor in this unit, while it's not the most powerful option available from Intel and Toshiba, it's a good value and would normally be considered fully capable of handling typical consumer level computing needs. More demanding applications may call for something in the Intel Core i5 or i7 Series.
If the above info doesn't resolve the problem, please contact customer support at 800-457-7777 for further assistance and, if needed, to make warranty repair arrangements.
Thanks again for the feedback and sorry for the trouble.
