Toshiba has disappointed me
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have bought this laptop, and it was working perfectly fine unilateral after couple of days the wifi adapter started to give up, I'm talking about my Internet speed being in decimals. I shipped it for repair, received it and after a day same problem.

Since I don't have the details where your laptop has been sent in for repair, I'll recommend doing a Windows Reset to confirm whether or not the issue occurs when using the original factory software installation with no configuration changes or software installations. If you do so, be sure to backup any personal data first since all personal files will be deleted in the process.
The Toshiba Forums community knowledge base article at forums.toshiba.com/t5/System-Recovery-and-Recovery/How-To-Understanding-System-Restore-Refresh-Reset-and-Recovery/ta-p/342690 has more details and step-by-step instructions for that process.
If that doesn't resolve the issue, and since you've already sent the unit in for repair once, please contact Toshiba support at 800-457-7777, provide them with the previous repair order number, and let them know that you're still experiencing the same problem for expedited handling.

Very Disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Never had a Toshiba before but my brother assured me the laptop I had selected would be a good. Have had for about a week, when I went to use this am, the screen remained black. The laptop was on but nothing on the screen. Did go to support.toshiba.com and was able to find instructions on what to do. I had to take the battery out before the screen would return to normal. Do not appreciate that within a week already having problems. Will be returning it.

This symptom and solution point to software causing the system to lock up in a frozen, inoperable state. In such a state, just pressing the power button will toggle between the sleep and wake modes, but if a system enters sleep mode while in a locked up state it will remain locked up when it wakes up.
The best way to confirm whether or not the problem you're experiencing is caused by a software or configuration issue is to perform a Windows Reset. This will resolve any problems introduced by software or Windows configuration changes. Of course, the type of keyboard problem you describe is not at all normal. Please contact Toshiba support at 800-457-7777 for troubleshooting help and, if needed, to make warranty repair arrangements.

Does Not Last!!!

I have had this computer for EIGHT MONTHS and it died. The Toshiba Call Center said it's probably the hard drive. Just dropped it off with the GEEK SQUAD with all my personal information on it. I am NOT HAPPY!!! Even if they fix it and it doesn't have to be shipped to CA for 2-3 weeks, I will NEVER buy a Toshiba again. For this money, this should not be happening. I should have retrieved one from a dumpster for free. Management at Bestbuy should have at least given me the option to trade it for an open box or floor model. Warning...buy at your own risk!!!

While it's rare to have a hard disk fail in under a year, it can happen from time to time. Unfortunately, it's not possible to build perfect hardware so sometimes repairs are needed, which is where Toshiba's warranty coverage comes into play. Though you have decided to send it in for repair through Geek Squad, I have every expectation that you'll get many years of reliable service from it after being repaired. For future reference, the repair turnaround time for Toshiba's depot is usually under 10 days, not 2-3 weeks.
