Great screen visual with well defined resolution. The flip over screen is much safer than my previous Toshiba rotating screen.

I tested both the HP Spectre x360 and the this Toshiba Radius 12.5. I preferred the smaller size of the Toshiba along with the 4k display over the HP. Comparing the two, the Toshiba was noticeably faster even though both were i7 6th generation with 8GB of RAM.
PROs
+ Noticeably faster than comparable models
+ One of the few machines 4k display without a dedicated graphics card
USB C included, full size HDMI port, plus two USB.
+ Dedicated page up / page down keys
+ Technicolor color management useful for watching movies versus working on a document (color profiles)
CONS
- Bluetooth antenna placement not ideal. Toshiba seems to not have the same reach as comparable models.
- Smaller size gives a smaller keyboard, some may prefer 13.3" screen as a result.
- WIFI also appears to be more finicky with Toshiba.
In the end, the performance and display resolution won me over, but consider how the product will be used when making your final decision.

I get this laptop for the performance it show and the price which was better than others.
I read some reviews and all of them talk about the trackpad issue, which is a real headache, I can not even use it, is useless, I must hear what others said, buth think not all will have the same problem...
The battery span is for much bad, with some 3 hours, drains easily.
The 4K screen is fantastic to watch movies or photos, but some old programs had issues, the letters appear to be microscopic.
The sound is trully nice and clear.
Performance is fantastic, speed up, great memory, quick access to everything... until some times the keyboard get freeze, and need to restart.
If you can live with this issues, is a good option, I personally use an external mouse which functions smooth and nice, when I don't have this mouse I use the touchscreen and works well.
Now I will take the machine to BB to warranty, I hope Toshiba have the answer and can fix this issues.

I purchased this item based on reading reviews. In my opinion this item has served me well. I like the size and weight of item. It is fast and responsive and travels well. The one knock I have with the item is that it has shut down on me twice for reasons unknown to me. Luckily I did not loose any data in the process. Overall it is a good item.

I'm going to say, you cannot get a laptop with the specs this beast has for any cheaper, I got it on clearance for $600. I've read the reviews. I knew going in that the battery life wasn't going to be that great and I knew the touchpad may not function properly. I'm here to tell you both are true. Luckily for me, I've always hated touchpads and always try to use a mouse. If I didn't, this would be a no go. Otherwise, so far, so good. Screen is beautiful and it handles everything I throw at it. It does feel a bit fragile.

The unequivocal good: the design is beautiful; the size is perfect -- especially if you travel a lot; the clarity of the screen is phenomenal; the SSI drive makes boot-up and access super-quick. In these respects, it's excellent value for the money.
The uncertain bad: the color fidelity of the screen is off: whites tend to come across as pink. And I don't understand "tablet mode" when the screen is flipped back. But, I am willing to concede that this is my problem and not the computer's, that **I** don't know how to make optimal use of a perfectly good machine.

Everything about this product was great. I like the specs and the 4k resolution. My laptop unfortunately had the issue where the touch pad becomes unresponsive and lags. I did all the updates but still has the problem. I read others with the same issues even after sending in for repairs. If toshiba or bestbuy want ti send me a replacement or one with better or similar soecs. That would be great.

This is a good computer for the price paid. Computer has a nice design; it is very useful for students. Nevertheless, it can be used for business and it is also capable home computer. The battery is powerful and it has good autonomy. Touch pad is unresponsive and freeze or die. Backlighting is comfortable for the eyes and bright enough.

Great Specs but Windows 10 (and trackpad)

I've been in the market for a new laptop for a while. What I wanted was a netbook but with adequate specs, which doesn't exist. Then browsing Best Buy through Christmas I stumbled across this laptop which was small enough and with promising specs.
The laptop itself I like. I haven't had any issues that would be the result of the build apart from perhaps using this thing as a tablet (too heavy(!), and awkward with the keyboard...). I've run Photoshop and also some development environments without any issues. So it's capable for work and multitasking. The one drawback is Windows 10 (and battery life).
Apart from the privacy concerns (which are worse than I had thought, including Toshiba which has a warning on the laptop's protective sleeve about data collection and no possibility of opting-out), Windows 10 is buggy and unfinished. Can't even uninstall junk apps like Xbox without going into a command terminal...
The battery I knew was going to be poor, but I did not expect the OS to be unable to properly gauge the battery life. On a full charge Windows 10 would estimate the battery at 1 hour and some minutes, other times it overestimates. Either this is a bug in the OS or, due to the forced updates (and data collection by Microsoft), Windows 10 is draining the battery which causes such a low battery estimate on a full charge. At times, simply adjusting the brightness up/down then back to where it was would result in a more reliable battery estimate.
There are other issues as well with Windows 10... HBOGo, for instance, when streaming fullscreen on an extended monitor (1080) through Chrome would have hiccups with the picture lagging when I scroll on a webpage on the main monitor... This is not the laptop but rather Windows 10, or perhaps HBOGo (though no such issue on Windows 7).
4k screen is great, but no one is going to be running the desktop at that native resolution /without/ scaling. Windows 10 scaling results in blurred texts on some applications/programs (particularly Windows programs which don't scale the text, such as device manager). Other applications, like VLC and even media controls on web-embedded video players, have super tiny controls that do /not/ scale.
Another issue... Infrequent 'display driver stopped' (or restarted) errors. Something that can be lived with as a nuisance but annoying. When using a browser and this pop-up comes, I have to minimize and restore the browser's window for the content to be displayed again. Annoying and something I would put on Windows 10.
So really, we have a great little laptop held back by Windows 10... Except for the trackpad.
As mentioned in reviews for the 256GB SSD variation of this model, the trackpad can become unresponsive. I've been using this laptop since New Years and just yesterday, after ~2 weeks of use, the trackpad starts going out. Just out of the no where the trackpad becomes unresponsive and I'll have to use the touch screen (awkward) until it eventually responds again (typically about a minute). The issue though is not stable as the trackpad is becoming unresponsive increasingly often resulting in an unusable system.
I've tried updating the trackpad's driver, apparently it's up to date. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling... Nothing has remedied the issue. So this is perhaps on Toshiba and not Windows 10.
Lastly, there is no chiral scroll. Toshiba support pointed to an article from Windows 8 that would involve installing the correct driver (NOT the auto-updated Windows 10 driver), but such a driver would be for a different trackpad. I am uncertain if this Windows 10 or Toshiba's choice in trackpad for this laptop, but I was willing to live with it if it weren't for the trackpad becoming unresponsive
I am hoping the trackpad issue is resolved in my last week for a return else this will be returned. I have also not yet tried outputting a full 4k resolution on the HDMI but am curious of the performance and picture. The HDMI spec is not listed on any descriptions so I am hoping it is HDMI 2.0 as anything below that can only output 4k at 24 fps as opposed to 50-60... which is my issue with the comparable Razer Stealth Blade which specifies a 1.4b HDMI.
Overall I would recommend this laptop (assuming the trackpad issue is a first-run manufacture error or can be fixed via update). The size coupled with features and sleek build cannot be beat... Unless you can find something comparable running Windows 7 for as of right now this laptop is a conundrum of "Is this Windows 10 or Toshiba?" Considering my previous laptop, from Toshiba, lasted me through uni and still going now... I'll say it's Windows 10. (And sadly, Toshiba confirmed there are no plans to release drivers for Windows 7).

Easy to do the initial setup. Very responsive with many programs that I run. Executes web searches fast. The I7 processor is fast enough for everybody with the exception of high end gamers. This is more slanted to business usage or normal programs than it is for heavy gaming but it will execute well with games for most casual gamers.

The laptop is absolutely gorgeous but it has a pretty annoying defect and it is the touch pad. Touch pad freezes randomly not allowing normal function of the pointer. I loved this laptop at first sight and bought it unfortunately I had to exchange it for a new one after the screen went crazy, BestBuy guys offered me the option to go with another brand but I wanted this laptop and I got it. Now, the new one ticks me off with the touch pad situation, it is a constant annoyance. I cant believe that there are a lot of unfortunate people with the same problem. WTH is Toshiba thinking building this expensive but poorly reliable machines?

I read quite a bit about this model before purchasing and finally decided to take a chance. The majority of the reviews online highlight the issues with the trackpad and the battery life. Fortunately, I always use a mouse so I deactivated the trackpad, and that is not a concern. And I use it exclusively at home for casual use, so it's easy to keep charged regardless of battery life concerns. So far, I extremely pleased with the build quality, speed/power, features and the IZGO display is absolutely fantastic!! The Windows Hello camera actually works and sign in is almost instant. Hopefully it will continue to perform like this over time but first impressions are very favorable. Plus, I got it on clearance for about 50% off the original price. I'm so glad I did!
