    Excellent, but not perfect

First off, this is one of the best laptops I've ever owned. Though I've only used it for about a month, I loved it the moment I got it. Summary: Crisp, vivid screen, but dim and reflective. Full keyboard and number pad. Large touchpad. Two USB 3 ports plus HDMI, extra USB, and SD slot. Works okay as a touchscreen device. Bundled software and features an added bonus. The 4k screen (that's 8 megspixels!) is amazingly crisp (with about 282 pixels per inch, more than even the MacBook, iPad, and Surface Pro 3) and colors are very vivid and saturated. (The glossy screen makes for pure, deep blacks, and viewing angles are good too.). At 15.6", the screen gives you plenty of space for working and multitasking. By adjusting the Display sizing in Windows 10, you can make things appear extra large and touchscreen-friendly, or scale things down, for more usable screen space. (I chose the latter.) All of these qualities make it great for graphic design work. Also, the screen is a touchscreen, and it rotates 360° for use as a tablet, though the keyboard is then exposed on bottom. A really big, hefty tablet, but a tablet nonetheless. Like all tablets, it automatically switches between portrait and landscspe modes. It also detects when you tilt the screen back past 180° and turns on Windows 10's tablet mode. You can also place the laptop keyboard side down with the touchscreen facing you as a sort of "desktop tablet", or place the screen and keyboard on end like a tent. It has a full keyboard (with side number pad, a must-have for me!) It's not the most premium-feeling keyboard—or envy-inducing—but it's not cramped and the keys are backlit (not a concern for me, but most people want that). The 1TB hard drive has way more than enough storage for most people. Unless you store tons of movies or games, you'll never run out of space. Despite being a hard drive (instead of a solid state drive), the computer boots up fairly quickly (probably less than 20 seconds, though that might get longer as it gets older). And that's also why this computer is inexpensive: hard drives are dirt cheap (as in $100 or less). The touchpad is very large and works great. Of course, it supports 1, 2, 3, and 4-finger gestures. The 8GB of RAM are great. I usually have lots of Google Chrome tabs open, along with a Word document or two, the calculator, Spotify, and sometimes much more. So far, I think my record is 75% RAM usage at any given time. The Intel i7 processor is speedy and more than capable for all of my usual tasks. The weight is only 4.9lbs. By today's standards that's heavy, but my old 17.3" computer (circa 2011) weighed about twice as much. I certainly won't complain. Port-wise this isn't skimpy (for a modern, slim laptop). There are two USB 3.0 ports on the right, along with an HDMI port, SD card slot, and the power button. On the left is the power cord connection, one USB 2.0 port, and a headphone jack. Also on the left are volume up/down buttons and a Windows key button (kind of a head-scratcher on that last one). Extra benefits: I enabled a setting so that it turns on when I lift the lid. In other words, you don't need to press the power button. It comes with an audio EQ, so I added a bass boost and cut the 4k frequency for my Apple EarPod earphones. Toshiba offers "sleep and charge" so you can charge connected USB devices even when the PC is off. (I left this turned off.) Now, that said, here are the cons. The screen is fairly dim (200 nits of brightness, versus about 260 on my old PC, and 550 nits on the iPhone 5S). As I mentioned earlier, the screen is glossy, so don't sit near a sunlit window. On top of that, many Windows applications (example: Spotify) don't handle high-res screens, so they look a bit pixelated, but not too bad. Also, photos and bitmap images appear much smaller size because the screen's pixels are tiny, so expect to zoom in on low-res images. (On the flip side, this is great for photographers and graphic designers, who work in high-res). On top of all that, Intel doesn't have good drivers for the graphics hardware, so, for instance, the start menu gets wonky dark colors and text, and sometimes looks a little blurry. (What a shame for such a gorgeous screen.) Also, don't buy this if you want all-day battery life. The 8 megapixel screen and the mechanical hard drive are going to suck power. Installing a solid state drive should help some.

Just got this to replace a 4-year old Samsung laptop, so it's obviously way better. Got this for just under a grand at Best Buy. It was between this and another laptop about $150 cheaper with very similar specs, but the 4K resolution put me over the edge to get this one. The screen is fabulous. Crystal clear. Keyboard is great and quiet. Backlit is a nice touch. It's comfortable. I really like the 2-in-1 aspect and using it in different ways. I felt like the computer should just be a little faster though. I dunno, sometimes I feel like it lags a bit when it really shouldn't considering it's brand new. Nothing too crazy, but even those few extra seconds when you're opening a simple program, like Word for example, I feel like it should be a little quicker. It's a great laptop regardless.

I got this laptop because I needed a fast system and I wasn't ready to pay double for my usual mac. I needed something that can manage the Adobe CC products with good graphics plus also have something I can carry around as a tablet. This is perfect for doing both. Only issue is the HD size sort of makes the Adobe software task bar so tiny it's hard to read but it's not the computer''s fault. Adobe is working on that. So far I've had to charge it several times because battery drains fast if the screen luminosity is on bright which I need cause of design work I do. I'm still trying to get the hang of a Windows 10 over a Mac. But so far I love the computer. One bad thing but not fault of computer is when I bought it the screen was broken. I had to return it and had to manual install Windows 10 on the second one.

I read some reviews stating that the wireless adaptor on this laptop had issues This is NOT the truth. I also was not able to connect to my wifi after configuring the settings. After looking into the matter, I found that the pre installed McAfee firewall was responsible for blocking the internet access, so I uninstalled it and installed Norton antivirus. This is an excellent laptop.

First of all, the 4k screen is beautiful. The keyboard feels great and as does the touchpad. I purchased an external drive to install all my extras. Windows 10 is taking some time to grow on me. The reason this isn't getting a 5 star review is the speed. I was so disappointed in the boot time, application load time, and the time to do anything. Programs my 6 year old Laptop ran effortlessly seemed to lag really bad. The little blue loading circle seemed to be present all the time. My wife messed with it for a while and went back to her iPad since it was so slow. I even found myself using my phone to surf the net instead of this. I had decided to return it but stumbled across a review on another site that recommended an SSD upgrade. I gave it a shot and now I have a system that rocks. My boot from power off is almost as fast as waking from sleep mode. The blue wait circle will appear so briefly that if I blink I miss it. It is now a five star computer, but not as packaged. The store I purchased it from offered this model with various Ram and SSD upgrades that would have to be ordered. If you are needing an awesome 4k screen and fast laptop, get them to get you one with an SSD.

Absolutely love my laptop. It's fast, well made, elegantly designed. The screen is absolutely amazing. Questioned if I wanted to spend this much on a laptop, but it proved worthy of the price. Tablet mode switches seamlessly & runs smoothly. I initially had WiFi connection issues with verizon, was due to the firewall. That's since been resolved. Battery life is average, but a trade off I'm ok with for the 4k screen. Came with Windows 10, which is great!!!

This computer is a waste of money. First thing, I couldn't connect to wifi and since there is no plug for it, I was out of luck. There is an update but, you need wifi to download it...lol. Second, Windows 10 makes everything tiny with this computer's aspect ratio or whatever. You can make it bigger but, then things are blown up to out of focus. Ridiculously small and seriously annoying. Literally, like a 9th grader designed it. Third, The 4k Ultra screen means nothing when your movie is fuzzy because of that aspect ratio thing or whatever. Movies are blurry and they freeze sometimes like the graphics card can't keep up. Fourth, I play Bloons TD5 and the fan is going full blast and the graphics are again fuzzy. Why? It's 4k Ultra right? My screen resolution is at the recommended setting and no matter how much I adjust it, it still won't come out right. Fifth, Windows 10 is annoying. Can't really figure out why they released it. No wonder it's offered as a free upgrade; it's not finished yet. Forget about updates, they couldn't even get the aspect ratio thing right in the first place. What idiot let this through quality control? Last, I used to work at Toshiba and now I will never buy their products again. Don't buy this computer!

This Toshiba has everything I was looking for: 2 in one, touch screen, larger screen (15.5) and not too heavy to carry with me. Windows 10 is a learning curve, but I know I'll figure it out.

This is a great computer for the price. The stand out feature on this item is the screen. The 4K display really pops with vibrant colors and details of hi resolution photos. I did have some confusion when trying to figure out the processor speed. Best Buy web sites will list it at 3gig where other places will list it at 2.4 gig. I know there is a boost feature available on this chip but it still is confusing. When I look at the info section of the computer in the my computer settings it lists the speed at 2.4 gig. If you are looking for similar performance for a little less price you can pick up the same model without the 4K display. Overall great computer.

I was originally looking at getting the DellXPS or the HP ultra book however both were over my budget, I was in the store and saw this laptop which had similar specs around the same price point. A bestbuy rep told me about the student discounts so went home, got the coupons and saw that this laptop was on sale on bestbuy.com, I went back and the associates honored the sale price and the coupon saving me 300$! The only thing i would change is going to a solid state HD instead of a standard HDD, runs well and again for the money I couldn't find a laptop that would compare!

I have had a Toshiba computer for over 10 years. When I tried to upgrade from Windows 7 to 10 I had a few problems. So I had the hard drive wiped and Window 10 installed. But before I had all that done I went and bought Toshiba - Satellite Radius 2-in-1 15.6 4K Ultra HD Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 8GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive - Carbon Gray and it was the best thing I ever did. Yes my 10 yr old computer runs fine now on Windows 10 but not as fast as the new one. Plus the new one is in Ultra HD. Fantastic investment.
