Total Wireless is a GREAT service that uses VERIZON towers. It ONLY works with CDMA phones. You can buy from them or BYOP. They have a compatibility finder on their web site. This SIM may be unnecessary if a Verizon SIM is installed in your phone already. It IS a hassle to setup but it is worth the hassle. Expect to end up calling them. (I saved their number and just use it from another phone.) Be prepared with the phone's big long IMEI number, the SIM's card number and the phone number you're transfering. Set aside some time so you're not rushed. Get a cup of coffee and RELAX. It takes them a while. Just expect it. $1 dollar and a bit of hassle is worth it. I pay $95 per month for service for FOUR phones with 25 Gb of shared data with good LTE service. Is that crazy? Maybe, but it's real.

Some other places will have these for 1 cent less but if you can't afford the 1c then you shouldn't be looking for cellphones. TOTAL has great VZW service for a lot less. I have really good speeds and coverage almost everywhere and the places cricket would not even take or make calls. Total while their coverage is great their customer support is almost non existent. They are almost programmed to take your money even if things don't work. If you can setup and gt things going without their assistance its great, if you screw something on the setup and need their help good luck!

    Total Wireless Sim Card

First of all, I am liking Total Wireless....same towers as Verizon. Make sure your ex Verizon phone's APN has a period (no space) between TRACFONE AND VZWENTP. It will work without it, but you won't be able to load some sites while on cellular data (pulled my hair out figuring this out....my oversight). To the sim card review: I wanted an extra sim card for an older phone in case I bricked mine while installing custom roms. My older phone's sim card is micro, while my newer phone's sim card is nano size. I had torn through my packaging and ruined the cardboard sizing adapters. I was going to make one, but for a buck, it was worth buying another while I was in the area.

Family with 3 cell phones, that had to switch to Verizon. Paying $90 total for all-we-can-use text and talk, and we share 20 GB of data. More than enough for us. Will soon be updating to a 4th family member for an estimated $15 more a month and 25 GB of shared data. https://www.totalwireless.com/why/service-plans Customer service wasn't too great during the initial setup, but now things are smooth. Please note that Total Wireless actually works in 30 day increments instead of 1 month increments.

Their service is cheap and works fine but watch out, if anything happens you are on your own. Their customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. If they get mad at you they will even call you back and hang up on you over and over. I submitted recordings of them doing this to me to the Better Business Bureau. What a horrible customer service experience. Find service elsewhere.

If the SIM doesn't work you're on your own

Purchased this and an associated service card for my daugher for her unlocked iPhone 7+ while home on vacation. The SIM failed to initialize on her phone and we tried to return the item to BestBuy. They refused to refund our money and told us we wouldn't get it back from Total Wireless either (Google TotalWireless customer service). Nowhere is it made clear that BestBuy will not honor their return policy for these items. You might get lucky and have this work for you but if it doesn't you are on your own.

Bought this for 3 phones, 2 new 1 to transfer over. The phone that transferred over was easy. The 2 new phones however were a nightmare. While making calls was possible connecting to anything online was impossible. Spent about 30 hours on the phone with Total Wireless people who could not fix the problem. Finally took the phones back to Best Buy and ask them if they could help. 15 minutes later both phones were working perfectly.

I was visiting Orlando and stopped by at the local Best Buy to purchase an iPhone 8 to send overseas as a gift. I told the salesperson my intent of sending the item abroad. He did not guide me that the phone needed to be unlocked. It is now overseas and cannot be used unless brought back to the US to be unlocked. The staff was either incompetent or did not really care. Will never buy from Best Buy again

I needed a sim card for an old iphone that I wanted to use as a music device (to stream spotify). However, I could not use the phone without a SIM card. I didn't need a number or line of service and this $1 sim card did the trick. Now I can use my old phone to play music! Long gone are the days when I needed to sync it with iTunes.

I purchased this SIM KIT along with $35 PIN card but it was not registering my unlock Motorola device that is supported by all carriers. Customer rep told me that total wireless doesn't support my phone. I shut down phone for like 2 hrs and when turned on it start working. So please don't waste your time calling customer rep and just have system take its own time to process your request.

The monthly plan offered by "Total Wireless" is the closet to my ideal after months of evaluation of multiple air time suppliers. Although, the premise is buy as you choose, the service will only last in 30 day increments. There is no carryover. You are essentially purchasing a monthly plan as though you have signed a contract. Overall I still like the plan at this time. Thank you "Total Wireless."

I was kinda weary about taking my att iPhone X unlocking it and trying a new carrier that’s a1/3 of the price for unlimited on 2iphones. This cell company has been great coverage in all the spots att sucked and great coverage where att was good too. Don’t be afraid to try with your att phone.

After having serious tech issues with Cricket (which I used to love), and horrible reception with Metro PCS and TMobile, I finally landed an affordable no-contract service with Total Wireless. Reception is good in previous areas that had NO signal with T-Mobile, and it's very affordable. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but so far I am extremely happy.

Switched from a major service provider charging $65 a month for unlimited T&T + 1 lousy gigabyte data. With super easy to set-up and use with my current droid Turbo, I get the same exact network, with the unlimited T&T, but now with 5 gigs data. Buy one of these sim activation kits for a buck and don't look back.

This $1 SIM card package is necessary to begin service for Total Wireless. you will need one for each phone you bring to the plan (we set up 3 phones at once). Monthly package price depends on how many phones/lines you need -- $35/mo for 1 line (5GB data), $60/mo for 2 lines (15GB shared data), $85/mo for 3 lines (20GB shared data), $100/mo for 4 lines (25GB shared data)

it was activated with no issue. Activated over calling the totalwireless. Do not trust an agent repeating "the newest iphone may not work with totalwireless." every iphone should work with totalwireless. Just hang up and call again until you get an agent who is knowledgeable enough to know what to do.

Minor issues getting my phone (Samsung S7) activated after putting in the new sim card, but overall worked well. Service has been great. Customer service was surprisingly quick and responsive. I switched over to this service on an iPhone as well at the same time, switching on the iPhone was smoother.

What can I say, most people have no idea how these things work and I really don't either. So i suppose the packaging was accurate, so far it has satisfied my every expectation... but as I learn more, i may be expecting more..so it is hard to give a review the than the current impression in time. So i guess that is what this is...

I recently switched to Total Wireless and brought my own phone with me. A few weeks in to service, the phone is getting better reception than it did under my old plan. Paying a lot less money for the same phone, better reception, and more data. Very pleased at this point.

There's nothing wrong with the sim card itself, but TotalWireless.com is a mess when it comes to getting a new line started. Directions are very confusing. Was better off calling in to customer service than trying to figure out their website.
