Ordered this to help with that problem. it actually helps boost my wi fi upstairs. It was a little tricky at first to get it connected. But then got it qorking.

Extend your WIFI signal
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very economical way to extend my Wifi signal from one corner of my house to the downstairs opposite side, as well as to outdoor location where I previously had problems maintaining any kind of uninterrupted signal. Device was placed about 2/3 away from router, and plugged in an outlet above my concrete foundation to enhance signal transfer.

Setup is fairly easy (for me). Do not expect same speed as your main router. I would say about 50-60% which is a win for me coming from 0%. No issues so far.

Great performance

It was fairly simple to set up, and I am currently using it on a computer I had plugged in directly into the router. There seems to be no difference in the connection between this extender and the router. Very pleased with it.

Works but signal gives out sometimes

Great extender

I put it about 40 feet away from my router and have no problem. It also has a location selection if you use the Tether app from Tp Link which also helps with setup. Easy to use.

Set-up takes a little while and it didn't really work until it was moved to another outlet (closer to where I needed the signal). Otherwise, it works great. It does get a little hot though (fyi).
