Sure did help !!!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product was easy to install. Just plug into outlet, then push the WPS button on your router, go to the extender and do the same thing with their button and it will link up quickly and return to encryption mode on its own. Then go to your device and search for the new WIFI signal ending in -ENT and connect. You will have to enter your routers password. The device tripled my Mbps on my devices.

Decent extender with some limitations
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the AC1200 Extender to address inconsistent reception of a desktop PC in one of the bedrooms. The instructions and video for setting up the extender are very clear and easy to follow. I used the Tether app for the iPhone, which made the set up much easier. The extender must be set up near the router, which necessitated using an extension cord, as all the outlets are behind furniture. Because my router has the same SSID for both the 2.4 and 5 Ghz bands, it was difficult assigning the separate 2.4 and 5 bands on the extender to the matching band on the router. It would have been helpful to have not only the SSID name, but either the MAC address or IP address from the router, for each band. Finding the best spot for setup is also relatively easy by plugging in the device and ensuring all the lights are solid blue. Because the 5 Ghz light was not lit, the device needed to be moved a number of times until it finally did; however, the range from the router was only about 30 feet away (and in an outlet higher up on a wall then a normal outlet is found). The Tether app also said the signal was strong enough to be moved farther from the router, but when it was, the signal strength dropped too much. The desktop PC in the bedroom found the 5 Ghz band on the extender as it had a unique SSID name, different from the router and the extender's 2.4 Ghz band. The wireless antenna on the desktop PC needed to be positioned towards the extender to get the best reception, although, the fastest download speed was 150 Mbps, about 35% of the available bandwidth speed. This is enough for most all of the streaming needs, but is a bit disappointing. It maintains a good, steady signal, making it worth having. A concern with this is the manufacturer recommends not doing firmware updates wireless, but using a wired connection. This seems cumbersome, particularly using the web browser to find and download the needed update files. Overall, the construction quality, ease of setup including videos and helpful manual, and apparent consistent signal strength are good, it does not seem the best solution to extend router signals, especially the 5 Ghz band, throughout a large home.

TP-Link AC1200 Dual Band Wi-Fi Range Extender
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TP Link AC1200 Dual Band Range Extender was Very easy for me to set up. I am a senior, living in an apartment. Even though I have a high internet connection, I kept losing connection when I would use my iPad. It was very frustrating. I called the company for my internet connection problem, and was told that after “checking” my signal strength was fine. I started looking on the internet for a solution, and saw that the brand TP-Link was the favorite of many people with the same problem. I ordered the TP-Link AC 1200 Dual Band from Best Buy. It was very inexpensive compared to many other brands. I’m not very good with anything that is technical, and my children are out of town. I took my time, looking at the illustrations and read how to install. It didn’t take long at all. I tried 2 different areas to find the strongest signal and just plugged the unit in. That was all I had to do. My internet connection is much improved without losing connection. I would have to say, if it was easy for me to connect with the internet, as a senior, that anyone who purchases a TP Link range extender won’t have a problem setting one up to their internet

Great Range, Easy Setup
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read a handful of reviews that claimed this Wi-Fi extender was difficult to connect to your home network or that it had poor reception and extension range. However, I am happy to say I did not have any of those issues; setup took less than 5 minutes, and the extender reception and range work great. The extender is located on the second floor of my house roughly 50 feet from the router, and the house if framed with metal studs. Even so, this extender receives and rebroadcasts both 2.4 and 5G bands. The extender serves an Xbox and a Roku, and both get great signal from the extender. Overall, this is well worth the buy for the money. If you have Gig-speed internet, than this will obviously be a hinderance, but if you're the average joe with 200-300 MBPS internet, this extender is for you!

Worked as described
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well to extend wifi in the house. Love the Tether app that lets me see what devices are connected and remotely reset when needed. Only negative is that I have to reset it every so often to get Wifi performance to increase. But this is the case with my router as well. Otherwise it works well.

Q: QuestionHow far does this item extend the Wi-Fi
Asked by Snickers.
- A:Answer I was told by Best Buy this would cover 300+ feet.
Answered by Jynx10
Q: Questiondoes this also speed up internet speed.
Asked by Diz.
- A:Answer Yes and no. Your router speed is the maximum speed that you can connect to the internet. You get the most performance if you connect via ethernet at your router, or by wifi in the same room as your router. The further you go from your router, the slower your internet speed. This extender is speed AC1200. For the best performance, match the extender's speed to your router's speed. The extender can't make your router faster, but it could operate at a slower speed than your router and you won't see as much performance improvement. Think of this as a repeater that boost the signal strength. Your device will run faster, like it would if you moved closer to your router. This acts as a bridge to extend your wifi's range (and therefore speed). You plug this into an outlet between where you have your router and where you need better speed. This extender talks to your router and your devices. You'll get a stronger signal and faster speeds on your devices. You may need to try a few different outlets to see what works best for you. This extender supports 1 each 2.4Gz and 5Gz SSID. If you connect to MyWifi at your router, you can create MyWifi_Ext. You'll need to manually change your wifi source as you move around your house. If that's a problem, consider a Mesh Router combo. Connect your device to MyWifi (your router) and run speedtest.net. Then connect to MyWifi_EXT and run it again. That will show you performance difference.

Q: QuestionInstallation of the TP-link creates a separate wifi address named *** ext. When moving away from the ext connection it loses the wifi and has to be reconnected as though it was separate from the main wifi. Is this common?
Asked by WR.
- A:Answer If you would prefer a more seamless, unified WiFi experience, please select the "copy router SSID" option during setup. This will ensure your extender uses the same WiFi name (SSID) as your router so your devices will only see one SSID for both the router and extender.

Q: QuestionWill it work with Windows 10?
Asked by KidCognac.
- A:Answer Yes, WiFi extenders do not rely on operating system compatibility since they operate on the network layer, and are universally compatible with WiFi routers.

Q: Questionwill this work in my detached garage next to my house? our wi-fi works in unfinished crawlspace/basement but not in garage
Asked by seaford516.
- A:Answer Not sure but what you can do is position the extender (moving away from the router towards the detached garage) so that it is still receiving good signal from the router. Now with the current position of the extender, check if it has "extended" the signal to the detached garage.

Q: QuestionDoes this just need to be plugged into the outlet and just tethered through my WiFi? Id hate to use an Ethernet wire
Asked by ChickenJoe.
- A:Answer Yes, you can conveniently extend your router's WiFi signal without connecting the device to your router with an Ethernet cable. We recommend installing the extender in a position within your home where the router's WiFi signal is sufficiently strong; yet far enough from the router to effectively extend its range. Please verify the RE status LED is indicating a solid connection.
