I’ve been looking to upgrade to a WiFi 7 router and this one seemed to check all the boxes and have everything I was looking for. Out of the box it has a sleek and cool looking design and setting it up was super easy. I plugged everything in and booted it up, downloaded the app and that’s it! Very quick setup and I got everything connected within a few minutes after turning it on. My previous router was a Linksys, so this is my first tile trying a TP link. I was pleasantly surprised with the ease of setup and how quick I got everything up and running and connected. Speeds and connectivity were perfect and very fast. It’s exactly what I would expect from this router and it exceeded all of my expectations. I have well over 50 devices connected to my WiFi network, so speed and being able to handle all of these devices flawlessly is the most important part for me. Cameras, cell phones, fire sticks, Apple TV, smart locks, thermostats, etc, etc and they need to just work! The only gripe for me has been the range. I have a larger multi story home and it doesn’t fully cover everything. I think it I was in a single story/ranch home or smaller home it would be 5 stars. I’d still recommend this!

A great companion to increase house internet speed

This router has been one of the best options for boosting the power of my house network. The power, speed, and coverage of this Wi-Fi 7 model replaced my previous Wi-Fi 6 network, including a Nest device in the basement. Without hesitation, if you have more than 35 devices connected in your home and start to feel the loss of speed, upgrading to Wi-Fi 7, and particularly to this TP-Link, is an option that must be considered. No brainer unpacking and installing, just download your “Tether” app and power your router, automatically the app will recognize your device, and you will configure the network after connecting to the modem provided by your internet company (please note that this is a router, and not a modem). This is made for average users without knowledge of internet setup or with an interest in messing with your home network. I am especially happy with this model because after the installation and replacing my previous network, the speed increase is noticeable, just with a webpage on the laptop, you can see the difference. Also a big surprise is that in the further home room, when in the past I was forced to use a wifi extender, the signal arrives directly from the router. Without being a technical expert, its triband capabilities are serving the entire house and devices with independence of the location and the technology. From TV, laptops, phones, vacuums, streaming movies from 3 different devices at the same time, security cameras all connected at the same time, there is not a single moment when the connection is lacking. I love the capacity of the app to do profiles and use it for parental controls, associating them with the devices. Great to control the video gaming time of the house teenager. Final consideration, this device has a generous and not standard two-year guarantee, which is also a signal from the manufacturer that its product is reliable and quality-made.

Easy to set up and phenomenal speeds. Definitely double what I was getting with my providers router modem combo. I direction antennas really help with covering my whole house with great wifi. The setup was extremely easy and took bout 10 minutes. I immediately did a speed test once it was hooked up to the internet and I was totally impressed. Couldn't believe I thought the wifi from my providers router was good. The router is small for what it is, sleek profile snd light weight. Easy to put anywhere in the home. The Tether app if intuitive and allows you to handle all the ins and outs of the router. ˆlove that I can see all the devices. connected to my network so I can limit some devices speeds and priority or other devices and this has QOS which allows me to make my work computer the priority over everything else in the house...I get all the bandwidth. This router is future compatible with wifi 7 built in....so there shouldn't any reason to upgrade this router when the new devices start to come out that support wifi 7. this is a great router and I think its well worth the price. I don't think you will be dissapointed.

This router was easy to setup right out of the box. It has the typical app that you download to setup your networks as well as guest networks. This was my first time using TP-Link but I will be shopping for more TP-link products in the future. I connected the internet connection to the 10 Gbps and setup the app and I was online very quickly. It has the cyber security features as well as parental control and QOS - quality of service. We have one person that works from home and I set their device to priority so they always have top speeds going to their device. The speed appears to be faster than the previous router I had which was also a mesh router but not a WIFI 7. We have 4 people in our home and we all have multiple devices connected. I was gaming on a pc and another person was gaming on a PS5 and the other two were streaming movies and none of us experienced lagging over a 2-3 hour period testing the router. I located it on the first floor of a 2 story house with a full basement. The signal was very strong throughout the home. I did walk outside and that is where I experienced a weaker signal. I did not purchase an easy mesh extender so I don't know how well it boosts the signal. I am looking forward to seeing how this WIFI 7 works with newer devices that work with it to see how the speed is. We really enjoy this router and plan to use it for a long time.

TP Link Archer BE9700 TriBand Wi-Fi 7 Router

So I just received my TP Link Archer BE9700 TriBand WiFi 7 Router a little over a week ago and have been putting it through its paces. My former router had started to show its age so I figured it was time to upgrade to not only something newer and faster but also something that was future-proof. And along came the TP Link Archer BE9700. I have used TP Link products in the past and have come to love their products as well as the amazing build quality of their products, so I knew I'd love this router as well. As you unbox the package, you will see that in addition to the router, that you get: Quick Installation Guide, Power Adapter, and a RJ45 Ethernet Cable. Now if you’re like me and have tinked around with electronics before then, setting up this router should be a piece of cake. However, to make it easier for others, you can follow along through the app which can be downloaded from the App Store for iOS or the Google Play Store for Android. The app will guide you through the complete setup process. After connected, I initially had a couple of connectivity issues, but those were quickly fixed through a firmware update. Once the firmware update was installed and the router restarted, it was smooth sailing from there on out. So far I have not noticed any dead-zones or drop-off points in my 3 story condo. Every corner of my condo has amazing connection as well as speed. One thing I love about this router is that as new devices are connected to the network, you get a notification of what that device is. This TP Link router also features VPN protect for even more enhanced privacy. Another great feature of this router is that it is future-proofed being WiFi 7 as well as featuring 6Ghz. This router is also perfect for streamers and gamers with no lag whatsoever. I recommend this router to anyone looking for something new and future-proof, and at this price point, you can’t go wrong.

This review is for the TP Link Archer BE9700, Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7 Router. Quick and easy setup. From unboxing to surfing the web in under 15 minutes. One thing I always do when I get a new WiFi router is change the name to the same as I had before. That way you don’t have to go around resetting a 100 different things. I found the TP link Archer BE9700 to be very fast and reliable. We had multiple tv’s streaming along with iPads and phones and didn’t experience any lagging. It has 3 bands 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz. Which I need, some of my smart home stuff is only 2.4 GHz. They don’t need a lot of speed just light switches, googles homes and outlets, locks and what out. But the TV’s and NAS are on the 5 GHz. On the back of the unit you will find one 10 GBPs LAN port, and four 2.5 GBPs LAN ports for all your wired needs. The unit it self is on the smaller side. The only thing I wasn’t super impressed with on the TP Archer BE9700 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7 Router was the range of the WiFi signal. I would need some repeaters to extend the signal for the whole house. But after I get that set up all should be good.

The TP-Link - Archer BE9700 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7 Router - Black, is a powerful Wi-Fi router with cutting edge technology that enable it to connect across multiple bands to provide a fast and solid internet connection for all your modern computing needs. This router is capable of the newest Wi-Fi 7 standard, while also being backwards compatible with the previous Wi-Fi standards, as well as the new multi-link operation, therefore being able to handle the newest cutting edge hardware, while also being future proof for many years to come. With speeds up to 6 ghz, this router is able to handle AR/VR video gaming, high bandwidth streaming, with the confidence that you're getting the fastest speeds and lowest latency. The router is nice and sleek looking, and came with everything needed to get up and running in minutes. The easy to use APP and smartly written instructions guided my installation with no set up issues to speak of. So far the Router has provided flawless service, with plenty of range, no drop outs, and no speed issues. The only issue I have with the router is the power cord and included Ethernet cable are very short, less than 5 feet long, which limits the placement of the router.

    Simple set-up through dedicated app

This is a fairly low-profile router with the latest technology. At this point, a purchase is likely to be more a matter of future-proofing until there are more devices operating on the 6Ghz frequency, but it works very well for all of my older devices. Set-up was easy. You can do it through their TP-Link Tether app or through a web-browser like you would any other router. Using the app seems easier than a normal set-up and walked me through all of the steps to set up all networks. Very simple and straight-forward. My primary concern with setting up a new router was how many devices need to be reconnected! This includes cameras, smart-plugs, thermostat, phones, tablets, TVs, printer... Ultimately, this was far less of an issue than I anticipated. I set up the new router with the same network name and password, and the vast majority of devices automatically connected to the new router. There are a few exceptions (a Skylight calendar, a camera I set up based on a Raspberry Pi) but all in all it was a very simple process.

Tl;dr: WiFi 7 provides some nice speed and stability improvements over previous generations which help improve connections in all bands. The addition of the 6Ghz band adds options for areas which are already congested with many networks. All aspects of the router perform well with newer computers and phones. Mesh or not This will work as an add on node with other Easy Mesh routers. However, the combination does not work as well as a native mesh system (such as the TP Link Deco). I have a medium sized house, around 2500 sq ft in total between 3 levels. I got this as an upgrade from a BE6500, so I could have the 6Gz band. Using the new one alone was all I needed for my phone and newer laptops. Adding the BE6500 back as an extender helped the TV in the basement and my son’s older laptop. My PC never switched to the extender, despite the higher signal quality. If you’re looking for connectivity for older, mobile devices I’d try something else. If the devices don’t move much, this will help. WiFi 7 I set up the BE9700 as a single access point next to my entertainment system. This allowed for wired access by some devices, which reduces conflicts. I have a large number of IoT devices in my house. To help maintain performance, the router’s set up suggests creation of a separate SSID (network) for those devices to use. This increases security as well as reduces contention for the network. We have a 300 Mbps connection. If I connect to the same network as all the IoT devices, my throughput is ~100 Mbps. When connected to a separate SSID used only for newer devices (though still running through the same router), the devices were at 305 Mpbs, even in the furthest reaches of the house. The link speed is significantly higher and would easily support a gig speed connection or higher. The 6GHz band provides a clean spectrum, reducing congestion and improving overall network stability. VPN capability This router supports both being both a VPN client and VPN server. As a client, it works with 3 popular subscription services including Nord VPN. With Nord (the one I use), you can select which city within the US, as well as servers outside the US. This is helpful for some streaming services which geolocate based on your IP address. As a server, this allows for a remote connection to your home network using Open VPN, a free open source service. Conclusion For those looking for a full featured router with 6Ghz, this is a great option at a decent price. However, the 6Ghz band may not add much function, depending on your location. WiFi 7 adds much more of the value needed to ensure fast & reliable speeds. While it will help with future proofing, it may not be worth the extra cost for everyone. TP-Link is an established brand offering a wide range of value priced networking equipment. I have every reason to believe this will operate well for years to come. Even so, consumers may want to do their own brand research before committing to something which may be in your home for years.

Overall All – Let me start by saying TP-Link is not my go-to recommendation brand but that said this is a very nice and powerful router. If you need a premium router this one is one of the best from a feature and usage standpoint. I did find the range on the high band a little bit lacking but nothing that would keep me from recommending it. Packaging – the unit is well packaged and protected from any type of damage through normal unboxing and setup. Touch and feel – the router has some size to It and antennas everywhere. It is not something you want to leave out as a conversation piece – it’s just the basic router configuration with antennas everywhere. Setup – One big positive and a negative You can use the TP-link app to set it up and kudos to them for putting a QR link code on a separate sheet in the box. This is a whole easier than trying to scan the label on the unit once you have all of the wires connected. The setup was pretty smooth – The thing that was a bit of an annoyance is that the light configuration is different on the app device than on the actual route so I started the setup before it was ready and had to abort and restart, The app guides you through everything and was pretty much self-explanatory – took about 8-10 mins before it was up and running. I did experience one issue in that it gave me a connection error at the end however everything worked as I expected. Functionality – from the bell and whistles standpoint this has everything you want and it can be accessed through the app – While everything was not overly intuitive in the apps after a bit of going through I was pretty easily able to find and work through the features. As for the port, it has everything you need 10G, 2.g, and 3 2.5 G LANs (really would like to have seen more on a router in this price range). It does allow for connecting to a VPN – this is a nice feature that I have not seen on every router. I was able to integrate it into my Google Echo system and do a few basic things like turn guest Wi-Fi on and off and reboot – there are others but I did not verify. As for speed and range – the speed within about 20 - 30 ft (at my location) was outstanding – outside of that it was still pretty strong but nothing that was any better than my current Wi-Fi 6 router. Overall I would give this a 4+ star rating however I would only get it if you need to replace the current router due to age or defect. If you currently have a good Wi-Fi 6 router, I’d keep my money in my pocket until you need one.

I am getting fiber internet soon and going from 800mbps to 2,000mbps so I got this to make sure that I was going to have the equipment necessary to handle the new speeds. I have a lot of TP-Link devices and good experience with them, so I was surprised when I had a tough time getting this new device to work properly. Setup was easy enough. I plugged it in and downloaded the Tether app to get it set up. It was fast and I was back online in no time. I sat down to stream some tv that night and was plagued with connection issues. Buffering, low quality, and the internet downright disconnecting. I tried moving the router closes, disabling wifi on other devices, and setting the tv to priority in the app. The tv was trying to connect to the weaker 5ghz band and I couldn’t force it over to the 2.4 band. I tried to fix this by creating a guest network on the 2.4 band only and connecting the tv to that one. It was better, but I ran into an issue with the internet dropping entirely. Not just a weak connection, a full disconnect. I bought a $100 range extender and made sure it would be compatible with the BE9700. When checking the extender in the app, I still couldn’t get the tv to connect to the closer range extender. Alright that’s just one device I can work with it. But then I started having full internet disconnects from my WIRED desktop computer. Hardlined via Cat6 Ethernet cable directly from my motherboard into the router. It would stay connected for a little bit and then intermittently blink in and out. I can’t figure this one out. So hopefully these problems get fixed with a future firmware update. I have restarted my modem, router, and devices trying to get this to work. It works 85-90% of the time, but I need that 100% reliability.
