Customers are saying

Customers express satisfaction with the AXE5400 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 6E Range Extender's simple setup, extensive range, ease of use, and overall performance. Users also appreciate the strong signal strength, broad coverage, and improved connectivity provided by the device. However, some customers have noted concerns about speed reduction, the price point, and its bulky size. Additionally, a few users mentioned that it only extends 2.4 and 5GHz bands in OneMesh, not 6GHz.

I had to return the item. I needed more range. It would work fine within the house, however, I needed it to reach cameras outside my home.

    Good extender, hard to install

This was anything but a simple installation. I had to turn off my TP-Link router's Access Control, find the IP address of the new extender, log in to the extender and set up everything manually. With this new wifi source (same SSID as my existing wifi network) all devices needed to reconnect to wifi, which is pretty much expected. No Wifi 6! The extender has been working fine - no hiccups - for about 5 days. TP-Link makes good networking products, but the installations are almost always harder and more complex than advertised.

We have a large duplex. We are using this extender to boost our wifi to the other side of the duplex. Square footage of both sides of the duplex combined is about 3400. The booster has worked great with ease in set up.

As advertised. I live in a remote cabin with thick log walls. I purchased the extender in order to work in the room which is furthest from the Inseego Router. Works better than I expected. Easily set up and synchs. I have had extenders from other well known manufacturers which matched the router I had and they never worked. I was desparate, so I am glad I took the chance on the TP Link.

Wifi 6e has a great signal coverage but...

So since 6ghz is newer bandwidth it has zero traffic. The only downside of the 6e routers they are designed not to send 6g signal from the get go. Now, having a wifi 6e extender is useless to have. But the coverage is great its just that it doesn't have 6ghz signal to extend if your router (tplink) automatically turns that 6ghz signal off.

Worked seamlessly with my other TP-link router to extend the network. Installed easily using their Tether app. Based upon these products I will most likely choose TP-link for other products (home automation).

This works great! Needed an extender because due to remodelling, we stayed a month in our camper several feet away from the house. This did the trick! Have had no problems with signal reaching our camper.

Works but disappointed with 6e (6GHz) coverage

Works but disappointed at the 6e range (6 GHz band). I bought this to extend the 6e range of my Nighthawk router. The condo complex I live in has MANY Wi-Fi users but no one in the new 6 GHz band :-). Although it does the job, it still has challenges covering our 1100 sq ft condo. 5G and 2G gives strong signals everywhere but 6G is always marginal. Extender is mid-way and I was expecting much better performance. There is only one wall between the extender and the router and another wall between the extender and the outer wall.

      Hi,

Thank you for your review. If you haven't noticed a significant improvement in Wi-Fi coverage after installing the extender, we recommend relocating the unit to a position within your home where the router's Wi-Fi signal is sufficiently strong; yet far enough from the router to effectively extend its range. Please verify the RE status LED is indicating a solid connection.

We also recommend ensuring the extender's firmware is fully up to date using the steps outlined in FAQ 1406 on our official website: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1406/

If you would like assistance with any of these steps, please reach out to our support team using any of the resources included with the product, or from our official website, and we'll gladly have a Support Agent follow up with you directly.

      Thank you,

Great product so far. I had to update the firmware a couple of times too. I get great signal in my bonus room with this wifi 6e extender. I think its better to use it as a access point.
