Customers are saying
Customers praise the Deco AC2200 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System for its ease of use, extensive coverage, and straightforward setup. Many appreciate the improved signal strength and extended range, leading to a significant reduction in dead zones. While some users noted that the units can get warm, the positive feedback on performance and ease of installation outweighs this concern. The system is highly recommended for those seeking reliable whole-home Wi-Fi.

Disappointment , look elsewhere
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had deco M9 for a week or so and had nothing but the constant problems. Setup was easy but that was only good thing about this setup. Constant dropped signals from my cell phone and my wife's. At one time you would have good connection and minutes later "unable to authenticate" message would appear. Than I would have to turn off my Wi-Fi settings on my phone in order to reconnect. Sometimes that would not work either. Had to reboot M9 probably over 5 times so far. Very frustrating to say at least. Just random dropped connections all day long. Only device that did not lose connection is my Nest thermostat. Another thing is range or should I say lack off. One of the routers is in the basement and 2nd one hardwired to my first floor. It barely covers my 1100sf home. Loosing connection in my kitchen that is located 12ft from the access point. no doors or concrete walls between No signal what so ever. If I go outside the house will loose Wi-Fi signal right away. After that Wi-Fi would not connect "authentication error"????? Check the online forums, and this is fairly common issue with this router. Another thing I noticed is the speed. Its lower by about 50mbps than my old router. Speaking of my old almost 4 year old router WRT3200 it blows this mesh system out of water. Speeds at 5gz range ( I could go to end of my property and have signal at 2.4ghz.) I was hoping to make my wireless system better by buying Deco M9 and that did not happen. I did buy this at sale price and its still not worth it. I cant imagine paying $300 for this. If you want constant problems with your Wi-Fi on a daily basis and live in open loft with less that 300sqf than this is product for you. Maybe I just got "bad" unit. who knows? This is by far most disappointing purchase I made in last 2 years. Needles to say I am returning this to Best Buy due to their awesome 15day return policy.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No more disconnections! 2500 sqft and covers everything so smoothly(2 stories). Paying for 200 mbps and yet goes past that!! Best decision making the switch from traditional routers and extenders.

Outdated security system
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this mesh wi-fi system after some considerable amount of research and watching mesh system rating videos on YouTube. This TP-Link Deco mesh system was consistently ranked top 5 for quality, and #1 for value, so I figured I would be happy with it. I installed the system, downloaded the app, went through the configurations steps, etc. I wouldn't say the set-up is super-easy, but with a little time investment, and with the help of the Deco app, it's manageable. The problem for me came when connecting my Apple devices to my new wi-fi network (iPhone, iPad). I got a warning message that network has "weak security". I ended up reading into it and it turned out that the encryption on this Deco network is WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK. After reading more into it, including info I found on the official TP Link website (https://www.tp-link.com/us/wpa3/) I learned that WPA is 1990's security technology, and WPA2 is from early 2000's. Basically, these systems are easy to be hacked, despite setting up a strong password. I just don't understand, if WPA3 system now exist, why would a company sell a product in 2020 with 1990's security technology. I ended up asking for assistance on the TP Link website, but after a 1+ hour chat discussion, I found no solution to the problem. So after all, I took the product back and shopped for a more advanced technology Wi-fi mesh system.
