TP-Link - Kasa Smart Wi-Fi Plug Mini - White works good so far...

I always like to have my house as a smart home in our neighborhood then I can control everything in with my cellphone or with Alexa!!

Since I purchased and set up the product as well, I am not worry about turning off the lights to save money anymore.

Excellent product but has to be rebooted sometimes.

The HS105 turns any of your standard devices into a "Smart" device. Once you start using this, you will quickly see the benefits. This is especially apparent if you own an Amazon Alexa device (echo/dot). The build quality is very good. It is sturdy and certainly doesn't feel flimsy or cheap. The design of this product is where it really shines. One of the biggest complaints of most Smart Plugs is there bulky size which in turn means that they often cover/obstruct more than one power outlet. I was pleased to find that TP-Link has overcome this issue with this newly designed Smart Plug. What's more impressive is how simple the solution was – making a wider Smart Plug, instead of a taller Smart Plug! Good move TP-Link! Since this is considerably smaller, I was worried that the range (distance away from the Wi-Fi router) would be affected. I had no issues, and I was able to plug this device a reasonable distance away from my Wi-Fi router. The scheduling aspect is great! There are a lot of variables you can set. Time (hours and minutes, am/pm), switch action (on or off), and repeat (days of week - you can select one individual day, every day, or a combination of days). A programmed event requires two "events" in the app, a switch action "on" and a switch action "off". This is useful if you have a routine with turning on/off a device in your home. Some uses I have for this HS105 are for lamps, entertainment units, irons, fans or just about anything you want to conveniently turn on/off or set timers for. Overall this is a fantastic Smart Plug that works flawlessly. This review was submitted as part of a free sample program.

Along with Amazon Echo (2nd Generation) for $79.99, Best Buy offered a TP-LINK Smart Wi-Fi Mini Plug for only $5.00, whereas such a plug would cost about $29.99 if bought separately! It works using your home Wi-Fi network and no subscription is necessary. You can connect a table lamp or other similar electrical appliance to the Wi-Fi Plug and use Alexa through Echo to turn it on or off by your voice or set it as a timer. Being a mini plug, it allows the second electrical socket on a standard wall plate for other use. TP-Link offers a smartphone app KASA that can be used to check the status (ON or OFF) of the switch and actually operate it. You may have three lamps in the family room connected to three individual Wi-Fi plugs and you may group them together as Family Room Lamps and control them using a smartphone or Alexa. I believe Best Buy offered a nice combo deal.

I bought two of these after I bought a Google Home Mini. I was curious to see how it would work. I put one in my family room and one in the living room to control the table lamps. The two wifi plugs work very well. Once I loaded the Kasa app on my Android phone, connected to my network, and linked it to my Google Home app, my Google Home mini quickly went to work. It understood the commands without any problems. All I had to do was change the device names to make it easy for me to remember. The Kasa mobile app also allows you to turn the lamps on and off using your phone or time them to come on at a certain hour if you're not home. Overall satisfied with this purchase. I just purchased the wall switch and and it works like a champ too.

It never worked to set it up after too many trying tries, i.e. attempts. Very frustrating. I returned it and exchanged for a more expensive, but got purchase credit and my Best Buy reward transferred to, Amazon Smart Plug, and compatible with the Amazon Alexa app, and Echo Dot 3rd gen. speaker.

Unable to make the required wifi connection even with assistance from the manufacturer and Xfinity. Tried creating a separate 2.4 GHz Xfinity wifi network and device still couldn't sync wifi. Spend hours and finally gave up.

Let me start by saying I’ve built TP-Link in to my Echo ecosystem as the primary hardware company. I have four TP-Link smart plugs and three TP-Link smart bulbs. When I got the Echo Show over Black Friday, BB offered this smaller TP-Link smart plug as an add-on for $5.00. No brainer. This plug works as well as the other four (bigger-sized) plugs, but is far less intrusive. Adding this mini smart plug in to my Kasa app was seemless as usual. I have this plugged in on my ground floor with a space heater attached. It’s on a scheduled timer to turn on every morning between 6:30-7:00 AM as we’re getting my wife and daughter out of the house. Satisfied customer all around, I’d recommend and endorse TP-Link products to anyone. They’re affordable, minimal hassle, and work straight out of the box.

This smart outlet is AMAZING! The small footprint enables me to place the outlet pretty much anywhere in my house. It is a nice color and isn't too distracting. The biggest plus is that it can be connected to Alexa AND Google Assistant (aka Google Home). The best part is that it can be connected at the same time, meaning you can turn lights on and off with your Google Device and/or Alexa device once the smart outlet has been configured properly, which is a breeze with the Kasa app. The response time is very quick after the voice command has been registered, and you can also control the light from the app anywhere you are as well if you can't use your voice.

I have a number of these. Works like the original full size TP link but only covers half of the outlet it is plugged into. Works with alexa but no hub required. I also use the app on my iphone and can use it to turn lights on/off from hundreds of miles away if you want to. Easy to set up and since it is easy to name/rename you can repurpose the switch to turn on lights, or fans, or conventional coffee pots or whatever is plugged into a wall socket.

Best gadget ever, you can set on/ off timers. Schedule on/off times. Works with Amazon echo. You can download the app on your phone and have control over it from anywhere. You can control a light. I use it to power my smart watch. It only takes 2 hours to charge. So before I go to bed I set a timer to turn off after 2 hours . Helps preserve the battery on my watch by not overcharging it.

I hit the ball out of the park on this purchase. I had been referred to more expensive outlets that cost as much as the time more. I have also purchased one that was made by a good company, a company that makes a great camera and smart bulbs but their's didn't work. This unit does everything it promises. Buy it and save money versus more expensive models. I'm using mine with a window air conditioner. It works instantly upon command using Google Home. There is one thing that I have learned that is a total sidebar from the unit itself. That is that you cannot create a routine or use voice commands to operate an outlet. My Google Assistant cites "safety" as the reason. You learn something every day. In summary, buy it, buy it, buy it because it does everything that they say about it. I'm going to buy many more.

I really like these plugs. They work with my Amazon Echo so that I can voice command it on/off. No additional hub required. Works with lights, fans, etc. It also works with only the app if you don't have an Echo, so you can control it when away from home. It also works as a timer that can have multiple on/off programs.

This was the 6th one I got, use it all over the place. Been using it for Christmas lights for few years now. Have it for lights throughout the house. Works awesome with Amazon Alexa, not with Google Home though. My biggest complaint is that I have home automation setup with both Wink and Samsung but it doesn't integrate. Otherwise the price is awesome for the functionality and its reliable. Had my hesitation at first, but as I said, been using several for years and works great. Setup is super simple, plug it in and get the TP Kasa app and it just works.

Easy to setup. Small enough to fit another plug below it. Connects to wifi easily and has easy to set rules for when I want to turn my device on and off. We use ours currently for the chcristmas lights outside so we don't have to remember to turn them on/off

Easy to setup with Wi-Fi and Alexa. Using it to control Christmas lights currently and will switch to my wife's lamp after holidays. Like the size as it does not block second outlet when plugged in. Also like that you do not need a hub to operate.

This is a nice wifi-enabled, Alexa compatible switch. I'm going to connect it to my google home too. Works great for the Christmas lights and Christmas tree. Uses the WiFi in your home and does not need a hub. Works with Android and IOS.
