I've purchased about a dozen of the old style HS-100 TP-Link smart plugs over the years and all have performed flawlessly, from controlling interior lighting, fans, Christmas lights and even outdoor cat shelters. Some have sat in drawers for months between seasons and have worked as soon as I plugged them back in, even remembering my network credentials. I just purchased [3] 2-packs of these new, next-gen HS-150 smart plugs this week. Not one single plug out of the six would connect to my home network. Not one. It's only a two-step process to fire up Kasa and attempt to connect them but every single one failed to do so. They're going back tomorrow. Besides, I found that I could still buy [3] 2-packs of the old HS-100's on Amazon, direct from Kasa no less, for about 50% less than I paid for these. What a disappointment.

Thank you for your review. Our smart plugs, bulbs, and switches are designed for quick and easy setup using the Kasa app. If you're having difficulty connecting them to your network during setup, please ensure your router's 2.4GHz WiFi signal is sufficiently strong at the smart device's location. You can also tap the "I can't find my network" option during setup to manually select and connect to your WiFi network.
Please also ensure your smartphone is not connected to a VPN during setup, as this may interfere with the installation process.
