Small but good little security cameras. Love the magnetic base. The range of area the camera covers is good. Only drawback is the max capacity memory card that works wkth the camera is expensive. With multiple cameras it can get costly. Purchased the one year online subscription in order to guve myself time to get the memory cards I need over time.

I have been very happy with these cameras! You have to set them up with the TP Link App, but i use them setup with Synology Surveillance Station. they work really well and have the privacy shutter which is very nice. great video quality both at night and during the day. very flexible stand so you can point them wherever you need them

Wow, they keep making these cameras better & better! I am impressed with the field of view and the high definition quality. Only one negative issue: I mount a few of these cameras looking outside a window. Previous models had a day/night vision option but these do not. I was not able to use these cameras for those home security positions because the IR reflects at night and the camera becomes totally useful. If using inside a house, no problem. Just cant be looking out a window at night. I would like to see the Day/Night vision option restored to these cameras because they are most excellent quality out of all I have purchased over the years. Other than that I still rate them highly, just not 5-star highly because of that fixed night vision issue.

      Hi Watts,

Its a bit obscured but there is a way to disable night vision. On the Camera's Live view on the bottom center of the image you should see a button that says "Auto". When you tap on this you will open a video mode menu. Set it to Day mode and this will disable the IR Night Vision.

Overall, I am pleased with the cameras. They were a great price for the 2-pack and have great-quality images. My only issue with them so far is that I have to power them off and back on every few weeks as they keep losing connection to my Apple Home app. They will be connected to the Tapo app with no issues, but one of them at a time usually shows "no connection" in the Apple Home app, which is pretty annoying. For the price and quality of the physical cameras though, I am still quite pleased with them as there is no monthly fee to store footage through the Apple Home app!

    Perfect HomeKit Camera

This is one of the easiest to set up devices for home surveillance. In the box, there’s a 3M-like sticky pad in addition to screws and a mounting plate. The camera has a magnetic base, so if you decide you want to place it on a desk or shelf layer on, you can leave the mount on the wall and move it. It integrates perfectly and easily with Apple HomeKit, which is the main reason why I bought it.

Its been a couple of months since ive had this camera and overall i love it. I remember reading the description and remeber seeing not an end to end encryption just end encryption so that made me not super confident in the privacy of the camera (considering i know limited amounts of what i shoukd be looking for). Knowing this camera has a privacy mode made me a lot more confident about my purchase and ice been loving it. If you plan on connecting to homekit, you do not need an SD card or to purchase any storage. Once its in the home app it will record about 3 seconds before an after there is activity in your area once you set up the zones. These zones will act as trigger points of areas you want to be aware when people are in. I can review them at any poing and go back since the date of purchase (not sure if that has to do with icloud but i do purchase icloud already). I have it sitting on a bookshelf and it captures the whole room. 2K is not the best quality if youre trying to catch a thief for example (identity of person or exact objects getting stolen) but just to review or if you dont mind lower wuality its great! I had issues when setting up because i didnt realize it needed an update first so it took me a while but love love love.

Somewhat ugly-looking but good quality, inexpensive and very practical camera. I bought it for my Tapo home "ecosystem" and it connected perfectly with no issues. The features and quality are good and I like that you can shut off the camera light, not all cameras have that. Giving 4 stars only because I was not able to find a one-camera offering, and ended up buying a set of two, although I really needed only one.

Worth the price. These are a great addition to keeping your home secure. They are out of the box easy to use and have great video AND sound quality. They are also SUPER sensitive - who knew the neighbor pulled in and out of their driveway 15 times a day... These are also how I discovered a birdie got themselves stuck in the garage, the little feathered face in the camera was quite the surprise!

Nice simple camera. I liked it but if I would have did research before hand a better version cost only a little more. After this one wasn’t in use. (Didn’t break just had the power cord cut) I upgraded but still loved it.

Good, But There Are Other Options

I'm starting to think IOS is the security source of choice for cameras. This is the second camera that I've had the honor of testing that has been designated for Apple's IOS and their eco system. Wiht that being said, these still can be used with Google Home and Alexa based products. The box houses avery nice compact folding camera that can be used on a desktop, cabinet or even wall ounted , with the support of the accompanied mounting brackets, anchors and screws. To be honest, this camera isn't very heavy at all. So you should really comfortable about mounting this camera with any light nails or screws. This thing will hang on thin sheetrock Easily. This is what I was talking about earlier, though. The TP-Link App is found in the Apple App Store. However, you'll need to go to the Tapo website to find and download the app, for use with Google home or Alexa Opperationg systems. But once that is done, you'll find it very easy to use. The price of this device is affordable, but there are many other options in this price range. So this could go either way. You wouldn't be remissed to go out and get this if you already are in the Apple eco system, but I know for a fact that there are more adroid/ Alexa freindly cameras out there. I will recommend it, but know that there are other options for all 3 platforms.

Easy setup, works with HomeKit. Sometimes has an issue booting up but after some initial troubleshooting I haven’t had a problem. Motion detection is very sensitive and accurate. The stiffness of the neck is a little lackluster and needed to be tightened to prevent the camera from drooping.

I wanted a camera to monitor my cats' Litter Robot. These were on sale so it made more sense to grab the set. The camera gets the job done. I like that it has magnets on the bottom that you can use if you have a metal surface nearby to use rather than mounting it. It was easy to set up and connect to Apple Home. The only thing I learned is that the video quality is not as good using Apple Home as it is in the native app. Which is fine because it's currently just being used to monitor a litter box anyway. But that's the reason I haven't use the other one to replace my current apartment security camera.
