Customer Ratings & Reviews

Overall the cameras produce a high-quality image with entirely sufficient audio for basic home surveillance. Battery life lives up to advertised claims. Features are useful but not terribly intuitive and have required a fair amount of tweaking. (These are my first home cameras, so the difficulty with features may be attributed to my lack of experience, at least in part.) The range of the cameras’ viewing angle is impressive, Low-light and nighttime viewing is solid and fully meets my needs. Person Detection and Motion detection is reliable. Installation was simple, basically two screws that are easily stripped with power tools but can be set with hand tools or substituted with higher quality screws. The magnetic base holds the camera well in most conditions, but can move slightly in high winds. The movement triggers motion detection but was so slight that I have not had to readjust. The cameras have alerted me to a neighbor attempting to steal my push mower. It took a moment to figure out the process, but I was able to berate them via the Talk feature mid-theft. They ultimately abandoned the caper, however I realized afterword that only the initial 15-second Motion Detection clip was recorded. In the fluster to save my mower, I didn’t think to hit the record button. The would-be thief set off motion detection by moving the camera with my rake, but the wide angle still captured their face and as I was able to describe to them exactly what they were wearing, I was able to give the impression that the whole event was saved on video. So there’s that. The Alarm function can be triggered by Motion/Person detection but I was unable to set it off while viewing the live feed. Connecting to WiFi is easy. Cycling between cameras is a bit convoluted at times. Wholly a good purchase.

I recently purchased this camera, and I’m beyond impressed with the quality! The video clarity is crystal clear, colors are vibrant, and the image stabilization works perfectly — even when recording movement. The setup was super easy, and the camera performs like a professional one at a very reasonable price. Whether you’re using it for business, personal projects, or special events, this camera captures every moment beautifully. The battery life lasts longer than I expected, and the features are so user-friendly that even a beginner can create professional-looking videos. If you’re looking for a reliable, high-quality camera that delivers stunning results, this is definitely the one to get! I’m extremely happy with my purchase and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to upgrade their video experience.

I was looking for a surveillance system that could replace my existing Blink cameras. The Blink setup is OK, but limited features. I had several requirements that I needed to meet 1. Completely wireless 2. RTSP/ONVIF compatibility (to record in 3rd party systems) 3. No monthly fee 4. Rechargeable battery 5. Date & time on camera video The TAPO cameras fulfilled all of these needs at a great price. video quality is exceptional, night vision works well and responsiveness of the app is quick. I highly recommend this system.

I’ve been using these for over a year and I’m very please with these cameras. As with any wireless camera it is going to depend on your strength of your WiFi. Very user friendly to setup and app works great. It has various options in the setup so you are able to tweak the camera so it can work well. Video quality for a 2K camera is amazing clear and night vision works very well. I would recommend this product be cause it is well made and easy to understand.

These cameras are very easy to install and set up. The magnetic bases are very strong and make adjusting the camera very easy. Images are very crisp, and the motion sensor is extremely sensitive. The programs easily discern pets, vehicles and humans, as well as wild animals. Night illumination yield outstanding color videos and photos.

Despite all the mixed reviews..my experience has been great with them. Got 4 cameras in total now (1switches out with the garage when the other battery dies) and all work great. Easily charged, easily used everyday, notifications and platform are easy to use as well. Thanks

I really like these cameras! The quality is good. The picture is clear and sharp, and they work exactly as expected. Easy to set up and reliable. Definitely worth it! Only problem is the tape is not as good but you can also instal a different way. You also got an app and it notifies you every moment even if it’s the birds :)

[Employee of bestbuy] I love how much they last, everything depends on your are if there is too much movement, I love that we can use micro sd cards if we don’t want subscription! They are super easy to set up as well, it would be great if they used usb c.

Great product. easy to set up. Clear picture. Does everything they say it will

I live in a hot climate it can get over a hundred degrees in the summertime out here the cameras have held up through the Heat they are somewhat easy to set up as long as you have the app on your phone or device the only downside is sometimes the SD card needs to get reformatted or you have to find a compatible SD card for the camera

The quality is worth for the value. Easy to install and long last battery. Clear view quality with effective multiple setting.

I love these so much I bought them three times, total of 9 cameras and This is a great company with easy use and understanding to use these cameras to their maximum potential. I paid thousands for other cameras at my business and these are way better then the higher dollar cameras

Have that installed for 4 months now, even through the coldest winner. So far the battery life has been terrific and the notifications are spot on. Installation couldn't have been easier.

Excellent cameras & exactly what I needed. Wireless, batteries have good life span & clarity is good as well. Would highly reccomend this product to others

I absolutely love my Tapo security cameras, They were really easy to install and simple to use! I would highly recommend these cameras for anyone looking to add extra security around the house, or for baby monitor use!

Good range to record, good battery life and easy to charge again, rate 4 because i am happy with cameras

DO NOT BUY! Absolute garbage. The 300 day battery life is false advertising. After fully charging twice, they do not last longer than 1 week. In 1 week I had 8 notifications of motion and the battery was already drained. The app is also garbage. At best, I had about 50%-60% success rate at connecting to live images from the app. The camera fails at its one job of detection. The software is so slow that there is a long duration between when motion is detected and when the recording starts. Almost all recordings show people's backs walking away. The same delay happens if trying to use the talk feature. Might as well be talking with someone on the moon with this delay.

I really enjoy these cameras and the magnetic set up makes it very easy to install.

Easy to install and no subscription needed to use is a game changer

Great camera for quick installation, They’re 2K camera
