Setup is pretty easy once you have installed the free Kasa app, which is how you will turn your smart plug, and anything plugged in to them, on and off. And yes, you will be able to control your smart plug from anywhere in the world with your smartphone, as long as you have internet access. And for those of you wanting to take the cool factor up a notch, by controlling the smart plug with voice commands, you can set it up with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. If you are wanting to have multiple devices come on at once, like maybe a lamp and radio, or TV, whatever, plug a power strip into the smart plug, then plug those devices into the power strip. When you turn the smart plug on, those devices that are plugged into the power strip will come on too. I only bring this up for those who may have a hard time understanding just how a smart plug works, and what you can do with one. Not everyone is tech-savvy. Just trying to give them a basic idea of what can be done with one. You could also purchase additional smart plugs and have them all set to come on at different times of the night- turning on lights throughout your home or business, which gives the appearance that someone is there. Certainly won’t stop an intruder from breaking inside if he or she is determined to do so, but it may just give them a reason to stop and think about it. Just keep in mind, some devices may not work with a smart plug; meaning you will need to actually press the power button on them to turn them on/off. I know some TVs are like this. Smart plugs are pretty cool devices, and can be extremely useful around your home or business. These things have doubled the usefulness of my Echo Dot by automating some hard to reach lights. My wife is thrilled to be able to turn on her miniature village without climbing up on a chair. Very easy to set up and no hub required.

We absolutely love these smart plugs. We've added one to every room in our house for various things - lights, hair straightener, etc. No hub is required. Just add the app to your phone and you can control each outlet from where ever you are. They are also compatible with Alexa! Highly recommend!

Before the smart plug, all things connected to it were like the TV without the remote. Always have to get up and down to adjust. We have it connected to our printer, lights and some things that need an occasional reset, We would highly recommend it.

I love the TP-Link smart plugs. They are really easy to setup and work great. I have quite a few of them and use mostly for lights but they will work for anything you plug into them. I have them all turn on/off at times I've scheduled and I can manually turn on/off remotely as well through an app on my phone. I like that I can turn them on/off individually or as a group and I also have them linked to my Amazon Echo Dot so Alexa can turn the plugs on or off at my voice command. The setup took less than 90 seconds per plug.

I use several of these items in our home. Using the kasa app and Alexa, I more easily control lights during the morning and evening and make the house appear to be 'more' lived in than it might ordinarily show. One downside of this device is it partly covers the lower outlet on a duplex outlet. The tp-link app, kasa, is easy once you get used to it. I'd like to see similar security camera products from tp-link for kasa.

This is the second mart switch that I bought. They are very easy to configure and works perfectly with Echo.

I enjoy these a lot I have them powering a lamp and a fan currently. They are also paired with my Alexa so turning on either of them is a breeze. The Kasa phone app allows you to turn on any of the powered devices remotely or setup "scenes" or schedules for security, mood, or comfort purposes.

Works well with Amazon Echo. I use it to turn lights on and off. The only thing is that it is a little big in an outlet and you have to watch out what you put into the other outlet. I just saw (after I purchased this) there is a newer(more$$) version that is more space compatible in an outlet.

I got this to pair with Amazon Alexa. It works as advertised. Only 4 stars though because I didn't like that you have to download a separate app to make it work.

Easy setup, reliable so far. They reconnected to my network after a power failure without issue. Very easy to control by voice with my Amazon Echo or the Kasa app on my cell phone. Connected them to several lights. I will never have to come home to a dark house again!

Easy connection to echo for and full size. Instructions are very easy to follow.

This is an easy to use wall plug that connects easily to the Echo series and Alexa. I have not had any problems with the plug except for the one outage by TP-link that they have not adequately explained by them where all TP-link units stopped working.

Bought these to use while on vacation. Had used other tp-link plugs and lights before so set up was very quick. Used them with the Stringify app to connect to Nest camera to run when we are away. Worked perfectly.

These smart plugs are great! The price was very reasonable and they work great with my Google home mini. Would definitely recommend to anyone just getting their feet wet in the IOT world.

Works well. Works with alexa. Only drawback is plug is large so covers both outlets.

This Bluetooth wall plug is compatible with Amazon's Echo series of voice control series. It is easy to set up, easy to link with the Echo and work well.

I bought this item to go with my Alexa Echo Dot. Pairing is very simple and straight forward. Once paired I can either tell Alexa to turn on or off a lamp, patio lights or front porch lights with a simple command. When I am out of town, these lights can be scheduled to turn on or off while no one is at home (Schedule times). It gives the impression that you are home. Also, I can turn on or turn off the lights through my cell phone from just about anywhere you travel with the Kasa App which is linked to these smart plugs. I would highly recommend this product.
