TP-Link customer support walked me through the simple instructions I had already completed several times then suggested I call Amazon support. Amazon walked me through the same steps several more times, had me delete & re-install both apps... we walked through the same set up again & still a failure... but after deleting Alexa app as instructed I had to then re-install all my smart products already installed . Then Amazon told me to call back TP-Link support again. Yeah still did not work with Amazon Echo + Product is bulky & covered most of outlet making 2nd outlet unusable & is unsightly. There are much better products sold in bulk from amazon that will enable two smart outlets & blend seamlessly with Amazon Echo products! My rating is negative 1star!

Thank you for sharing your experience with our smart plug. In your case we first recommend ensuring your smart plug's firmware is fully up to date using the steps outlined here: http://www.tp-link.com/us/faq-1256.html
We also recommend using the Smart Plug in the upper outlet, which should leave enough room for a small or standard plug to be used in the lower outlet in some cases. However, if space is tight, our HS105 Smart Plug Mini might be a better option.
