Before Denzel played Frank Lucas in American Gangster(2008) he was Alonzo Harris,an undercover narc who's meaner than any of L.A.'s mean streets.Denzel Washinton is the perfect actor for this role,he's a man you'll love,and hate at the same time because he takes advantage of his rookie partner Jake Hoyt played by Ethan Hawke.Denzel is so ruthless he knows how to push the rookies buttons.Some of the scenes where actually shot in some of L.A.'s most dangerous neighborhoods.If you check out the dvd extras it also has an alternate ending along with two music videos,additional scenes,cast and crew commentary.Guest appearances in the film by music stars Snoop Dogg,Macy Gray,and rap producer Dr.Dre.

Denzel Washington hits gold in just about every movie he makes. He is a great bad cop while Ethan Hawke does a great job playing a straight cop trying to do the right thing out of all crooked things happening

This is a great movie and keeps you on the edge of your seat. The more you watch it the more you notice small details about things to come later on in the story. Highly recommended!

This is an outstanding movie. A must have for the collection. Both Denzel and Ethan Hawke have very strong performances. The stroyline is great and its gives you an inside look of corruption.

For all of the true actors that have their favorites. This is one to have, to hold to remember. It is one my favorite denzel movies. he is great as the good guy but a crooked cop, genuis.

By now most of you have seen the movie, so I'll spare you the details of how great Denzel Washington was here. The movie looks great in blu-ray, with a crystal clear picture it is very sharp with little in the way of noise. I would definitely recommend this version.

This was a great movie where Denzel Washington delivers one of his best acting performances. The music soundtrack is great. The movie keeps you at the edge of your seat throughout and a really cool action movie. The one thing I would say if it is still listed at 4.99 you better buy it before it changes! Buy now!

I REALLY FELT LIKE DENZEL PLAYED THE PART OF A BAD GUY SO WELL..HE WAS SO COOL AND HARD..THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR...DENZEL IS ONE OF THE BEST ACTORS OUT THERE..THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER DENZEL WASHINGTON..

it is a must-see movie, but i probably won't watch it again. denzel's acting was so good that i almost didn't like him after watching it. ethan hawke did a great job.
