Fun and exciting JRPG game. Reminds of final fantasy in some ways. The story line is pretty decent. Great pick up on the Switch.

Good remake of a Japanese-exclusive SNES JRPG. Certainly higher quality than the Secret of Mana remake a few years back, but with similar gameplay and style. A high replayability too given a cast of six main characters, from which you can only choose three, meaning you can only view the story from the viewpoints of half the characters and would have to entirely replay the game using the other three characters to see them all. Average length for a SNES-era JRPG, but at about 40 hours its quite short by today's standards, though that does help with the replay aspect. On the easy side (except for a few boss battles) and with a short length it makes a fair entry point to the RPG genre for younger or less experienced players.

For the hail mary release, this game is a remake of a game that originally didn't come out in the US in the 90s. The game is a sequel to the secret of mana and the original version can be played now on the collection of Mana (2018) with the other original mana games. I like the combat system, I wish they let you change to the original or secret of the mana system. even though the game is great, it is dragged down by outdated mechanics which can't be helped since it's a remake of an old game. But this is the first Mana/ Square Enix Remake that's actually good since the older mana games made in the 2010s are unplayable and weren't given a good budget. FF7 Remake is not included in the rejects and is a better game but both are great buys

A great remake to an amazing classic. I was so happy when Square announced a full remake to this game, we never got the original release back in the snes days, so this is something i was really looking forward to. The great part is that it still feels like snes game with all updated graphics, UI, voice acting, and remastered music. This game looks beautiful and plays great, looking forward to more remakes like this from Square in the future.

I had a chance to play the original game when it came out for the Super Famicom (Japanese Super Nintendo) and it was such an amazing game. The ability to choose different characters through each play through and experience the game through their eyes was amazing. I was so happy when I heard that this game was not only getting a remake, but also being officially released in the West in English along with the original SFC version (in a separate compilation). I definitely recommend as this is a great JRPG.

After finally getting the officially localized version of Secret of Mana 2, i.e. Seiken Densetsu 3 as part of the Collection of Mana released last year we now get a modern 3D remake. A far as remakes of classic games go this is definitely on the 'good' side, maybe even great. It obviously doesn't have the budget behind it of something like Final Fantasy 7 Remake, but it adopts a style that's pretty true to the original game's concept art and modernizes smartly in game mechanics, in particular the combat. Even if you never played the original version of the game this remake is a solid action RPG. The only thing I wish had been brought over from the original game that is missing in this remake is the local coop.

Ive played mana for years dating back to the original snes release of secret of mana back in the mid ninetys. Legend of mana started the 3d type mana games and played for the last 25 years. Trials of mana i played as an snes japan import named seiken densetsu 3. Played the new switch release of the mana collection which features the first time mana3 was localized in usa. Now the sequel to the ps4 secret of mana 3d game is here. Great game to enjoy when youre not busy pounding away on the new final fantasy 7 remake ps4.

Tried the demo on the Nintendo eshop, and liked it! So bought this as a treat. The game is just as good as the demo and continues to be entertaining. It looks and performs great, no issues.

I have never played the original so I’m coming in from a new perspective. If you are looking for an action RPG with a fun combat system then this is it. It’s super cool to start the game off with any combo of 3 characters out of 6 and you can see how those three intertwine within the story line with the rest. I heard you’ll have different endings with different set of people so there’s a reason to play again. As for the 3 characters you pick you can switch among them during battles which is fun.

Trials of Mana (Seiken Densetsu 3- released in 1995) is an action role-playing game. This game completely remakes the original with a new 3D engine, Voice acting and Cut scenes. This is a nice remake of the original that respects the original game content. You can play through with different characters. If you played the original and had a good time you will enjoy this remake. You can play the original in the Mana Collection that was released on Switch.

Trials of Mana gets the full remake treatment of a Super Nintendo game that was only released in Japan in 1995—though you can play that version if you get Collection of Mana on Switch. I had a very enjoyable time throughout my 30+ hour quest. There's six characters from which to choose from, and each tells a different story—so there's some variety if you want to replay the game once it's over. Very simple, yet deceptively deep combat system.

I got this as a gift for my brother, so unfortunately I haven't been able to play through it for myself. However, I played the original SNES version of the game and love the story. It's definitely a must play for anyone who loves rpgs. The art style of this version looks decent and seems to be much better than the Secret of Mana remake that was released a few years back. Definitely a great, classic game!

This game belongs in every RPG Gamers library. You control the hardness of the game. You can Pick Easy, Normal and 2 Harder settings & these can be changed throughout the game so if you get stuck maybe there is an easier setting to get you through that spot. Graphics are fantastic an game play is really good, Some people might have trouble with the camera movement but that is easily learned and becomes second nature.
