It's been a long time since an SRPG I've played hit this hard. Probably Fire Emblem Awakening on 3DS back in 2013 (that was 9 years ago, wow!). So why is Triangle Strategy so good? Multiple reasons, but I'll try to convey a few.
The story is exceptionally compelling. Far more so than I ever anticipated. I love Fire Emblem to death. But this game has the story I've always wanted Fire Emblem to have. It's just soooo good!

This game is deep. It is involved. It is very story driven. Don’t be surprised of you go 30 minites reaidng dialogue and story between gaming. Woth that said, its worth it. This game is solid. Think Game of Thrones levels of lore and political intrigue.

This game is not for folks who want to play in short bursts. If you can't pick up this game and play for 2-3 hours a few times a week, it's easy to lose interest in the story and stop playing. If you can dedicate that time, this game is incredible. So many great characters, gameplay is very engaging.
My biggest nitpick is the slow start to this game. In the first 5 or so hours of the game, you fight maybe three battles and spend the rest of your time fast-forwarding through thick story portions.

Phenomenal story telling, memorable characters, excellent battle mechanics and a gameplay flow that challenges you but never punishes. Too many srpgs fall into the trap of overly long battles that demand repetition. While Triangle Strategy certainly has the same trappings, with each lose, you retain experience and items which never makes a battle lost a waste of time. Could be RPG of the year!

This is a game that reminds me of Final Fantasy tactics from the PlayStation one era. A great story between three kingdoms. The battle system is easy to get used to once you play through it it was really good about this game because if you already played a demo it safe spot will be added to the game so you don’t have to start over. This game is easily two thumbs up. Can’t wait for a sequel.

Solid TRPG with Choice Mechanic

I enjoyed the choice mechanic embedded into the game--at times, it almost seemed like a personality quiz sprinkled in between the strategic battles and exploration segments. I wished it delved more into interpersonal relationships between the units, but that's more of a personal preference.

Pros: Turn based combat, active story engagement. I definitely want to see more games in that genre. That said, the cons are pretty big. First, for such a huge studio, the voice acting in English is subpar at best. It feels like theyte reading off a script. Not great. Second, the art and layout is almost a complete riff off of Octopath Traveler but doesnt manage to separate itself and stand out on its own. Third, the basic story feels very 3Houses. Basic premise of three warring countries, a war that ended, and this idea of peace that won’t last. It’s like they took several pieces of games that were successful and blended then together in a failed attempt to make their own. There’s no character customization and I’m a little tired of games like these defaulting to a stereotypical male hero in 2022. And the characters were immediately boring. Nothing really drew me in or engaged me. Not great. For such a huge studio, I’m disappointed. This game is not worth the $60 tag. I wouldn’t pay more than $25 tops and I wish I hadn’t gotten it full price. Do yourself a favor and get one of the other games which do this sort of game far better.

Great old-school strategy rpg. Has branching paths that are determined by player choices and can lead to multiple endings. HD-2D graphics look nice in portable mode. Would recommend to fans of older fire emblem games and to fans of final fantasy tactics.

It looks like other tactical rpgs I have played in the past with a major overhaul on graphics. It’s as if pixel art was ahead of its time, you just have to experience it. To my detriment, I have only tried it in undocked mode; I’m sure it looks awesome docked.
Unfortunately for me I wanted to get right into the game and it seems like it will be heavily based on its story. There’s nothing wrong with that as it is what I have come to expect from this developer.
Cheers to a great game. If I had a chance to play through I may give it 5 stars but nothing comes close to FF7 for me. Maybe a pixel remaster would have been more appropriate for that one instead of it’s modern remake… hint hint, it’s not too late;)

This is a great strategy game. Harkens back to the days of Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Ogre. Very deep mechanics, tons of branching storylines for lots of replayability. Really great game.
