The battery life is not so great and it is difficult to get my music on the device. It plays well once I can get the music files on it but sometimes music shuts off for no reason, player freezes and requires a reboot for anything to work. All other features work fine. Hoping things will improve the more I play with it.

    worst battery life ever.

Battery life is awful and to make things worse, it only charges to 83% after being charged all night. Very slow response to anything I do on the touch screen. Otherwise, easy to operate, clear screen, speakers are useless...I should not have spent $80.00 on this, but it had all the features I was looking for...the features are there, just not very good. I almost got rid of my old Sansa after I received this because I wanted wifi. It has wifi, but the battery and slug slow touchscreen cancels out all the pluses.

This is one of the better Android mini tablets out there. I had no problems putting music on it from my PC. I have streamed Netflix and YouTube. Speakers are great but are not terrible either. It could have better battery life. Downloads can be slow. Not very fast for gaming. But for basic stuff and Netflix it is great. The camera is also low quality. This is a good tablet.

I'm truly regretting this purchase. I lost my previous mp3 player (a Sandisk# and used that as an excuse to buy something with a larger screen. What a mistake. The Trio is difficult to use #and I'm no Luddite#, has zilch for battery life #I go out for a short walk with a full battery and come back in the 30% range#, produces no volume #it's a joke when the warning comes up that increasing beyond a certain volume point can damage your hearing#, and the mp3 player that comes with it #Sonic Emotion) is a disaster. But what do I really think? Save your money and buy something that has some value.

Okay tablet, bluetooth mp3 player not so good

I originally bought this as a bluetooth mp3 player to use with my bluetooth speakers. While it will work on bluetooth mode, it is "choppy" which I find unacceptable when I am trying to listen to music. You can plug in an adapter into the headphone outlet and then plug that into your speakers, but that defeats the purpose of having bluetooth speakers. As a small wifi only tablet it works fine. It has KitKat (android 4.4) and works well for surfing the web, email, skype, etc. You can also download lots of mp3 player apps, sleep timers, and one app which allows you to even play your Google Drive music collection. I found the camera to be okay. Not great, but okay. The battery runs down quickly, about 3 hours of constant use is all you can expect from it without recharging it. I still wanted a suitable bluetooth mp3 player so I ended up buying a Samsung Galaxy Centura for less than I paid for this thing, and I don't use it as a phone, but just as a bluetooth mp3 player and it works flawlessly. I added a 32 GB micro SD card to the Centura and I now have my entire music collection set to play randomly over bluetooth and and I downloaded an app to the Centura to enter sleep mode after 3 hours of songs, and then to wake me up in the morning with music. So, in conclusion, I use the Trio as a mini tablet, mainly for things like Skype, and I use the Centura as my bluetooth mp3 player.

    Garbage

I bought this with the intent to use it in my car as my MP3 player. I was going to plug it in to the 3.5 jack and mount it to the dash and I intended to add a 32GB SD card to boost its capacity so that I could have a variety of tunes to listen to. First of all I will say that it was aesthetically pleasing to look at when I first opened the box. It was light and when turned on I was not disappointed with the screen resolution...however this is where things go south quick. It is slow. It took forever to download and install the few google apps that came preinstalled. My old Defy XT phone does this faster than this Trio and it has a 1ghz single core processor and much older tech. I don't know if it was just this one I purchased, but navigating through the settings and apps was choppy. This didn't suit me too much since I intended to use it in a car. Last thing you want to be doing is trying to get a device to a specific screen while driving etc. I figured I could live with it. The death knell and the ultimate reason I returned this product was the SD card slot. I opened the back of the Trio to install my 32gb micro sD card and when I went to close it back up, it wouldn't snap down all the way. Where the SD card slot is located is too close to the edge of where the back snaps in and prevents it from snapping back down, leaving a gap between the back and the front. Unacceptable. I immediately restored the system to out of box state, boxed it up and returned it. I don't know If it was just a one time manufacture flaw, but stacked on the other factors, I couldn't justify keeping it even though it was reasonably priced.

Not wanting to spend the price of an IPod, I thought this would be a good first music player for an 11 year-old. It's not bad. While it is only 8gb, I can put her music on an sd card and she can download some games to play. She mainly wants it for the music.

    Good Inexpensive Media Player

This player does what it says. It has the latest Android, although I cannot find an option to update the firmware. Also, this unit uses the basic Android without any additional bloat. Battery life is very poor. It last a little less than 8 hours with constant use (playing music, screen off). Since this unit is competing with Apple's IPod touch the battery life should be better. However, this unit does support a 64gb Micro SD card. You will need to re-format the Micro-SD card with the unit to get FAT32. Once that is done you have 64gb (with an addition 4.5gb from the device itself) for around $120 bucks. that is a pretty good deal. The unit is cheaply made so you need to be careful. I have dropped it twice and nothing broke; however, I doubt it would survive the abuse an iPod touch could, but this unit is more than two hundred dollars less than an iPod (after buying the memory card). The sound is good when pared with a decent Bluetooth headset and all of the controls from the headset work just fine.

One step away from being a Smart Phone

This device does everything my smart phones do except make calls, and there are even apps for that. Expandable to 32gb, so there is plenty of room. The only real flaw with this device are the cameras. Not very clear @ all, but for the price, it's a steal. Regular $79. I got mine on sale for $69. And just caught another sale for $59. So I bought 2 more as gifts. Enjoy.

I love most of the changes from its predecessor. I don't like that the sd card was moved inside so the cover has to be removed. For an mp3 player it should be easier to swap cards.

This was purchased for my nephews 7th birthday. The first one the charger didn't work, glad I bought the protection plan. The second one had been fine. He loves it and it's much cheaper than an iPod for a 7 year old. Very easy to use. It's like a mini tablet.

great pocket sized tablet for its price

Purchased to run work apps, this is a great backup tablet but it does have a cheap build, I broke mine by sitting down on it in my back pocket. But paired with an SD card, it is a very good under $100 pocket tablet, battery life is not overly generous, but it is acceptable. Would recommend this for someone needing an inexpensive tablet, it has very good hardware for its price range, o.s. Is very responsive, but they had to save money somewhere and it shows up in the build quality

I've owned this device for less than a year and put it away for a couple of months until it was needed again recently. I've since determined that I've forgotten my password and have been told by Trio themselves that there's no way to reset this device so it's been rendered useless. Not only was I informed that there isn't a factory reset to get me back into the device but I was spoke to in a very condescending manner as well. Product worked well but I don't care for the company or their so called "support".

The media player is exactly what i was looking for but it says it comes with owners manual and it did not. I am not really tech knowledgeable and there are things I want it to do that I cannot figure out because they forgot the manual and I am having trouble find one online. Went to customers service on the website for Best Buy and can't find a way to contact anyone to get assistance with this.

    Extremely Disappointed

Purchased this on 2/4, was told it would be the perfect solution for my special needs child that loves electronic devices but has an issue with regular tablets being too big. Obviously opted to add the insurance as protection, pick up the device and I ask where are the cases for the device and was told they didn't carry them in store BUT they are available on their website. Of course the first website I visit is Amazon because that is where I get almost everything, and not only could I not find a case for it I couldn't even find the device on Amazon. I go to the best buy website and they have NO cases for this, no accessories, nothing! Less than a week later the device falls out of my pocket, screen is shattered. Take it back today and was told they could give me a STORE CREDIT, although I purchased it with my BB card, because it was damaged. While the nice gentleman behind the counter processed my "return" he said he would have NEVER recommended that device because of all that I mentioned above. Poor battery life, no cases, no accessories, etc... Extremely disappointed that a $79.99 sale is more important than giving someone the best info which could've resulted in the possibility of an up-sell...

I like this product but it's super slow. It is really slow to load. Sometimes it freezes and then it won't come back on. Sometimes it freezes and I try to restart it but it just won't come back on. The camera quality is terrible. If I try to take a video it has a terrible buzzing sound. The music is alright but my $20 phone plays better. It was okay the first 6 months. But now it won't charge. It has to be a certain way and even then it sometimes don't work. I definitely do not like this item.

My 11 yr old daughter was given this device as Christmas gift. She put a password on it and forgot the password. We tried several attempts to reboot this device and it would ask for the password. I contacted Trio Mini about this problem and they informed me that the device does not have a password unlock option during rebooting. Therefore, it can not be unlocked and I would have to purchase another device.

    Get What You Pay For...

Tinny speakers, SD card mounting process is physically unintuitive and borders on breaking things, NO manual of any real use beyond just getting music to play, Android is anti-intuitive and cheesy compared to iOS or Windows, you really need to purchase a music app to make it work acceptably (~$4), BUT... You knew that when you only popped $80 for a touch screen mp3 player, didn't you. This is a good-enough stand-in for an iPod Touch when out on my bike and I don't want to wear ear pods/plugs and don't want to chance trashing a far superior device. Can do other things, in a pinch, but that's not why I got it. BARELY a Recommend. Real value will depend on how this device ages. Will try and update as the device ages...
