It's a hard to find connector so I was happy best buy had it in stock. Works just like the connector that came with my device so this work just as effectively.

TL;DR I purchased two of these to replace faulty cables from other devices. These have served me far better, with no issues in the 6 months I've had them (using on at least a weekly basis). Macbook user. I had bought a Seagate external hard drive and a SanDisk image reader (from other retailers), both of which had come with USB-C to USB 3.0 Micro-B cables. Within a few weeks for one, and a couple months for the other, the cables started having connection issues (device not appearing on my laptop and unable to eject, unreliable file transfer). The Micro-B ends fit into the devices loosely and were prone to wiggling (for lack of a better word). I had been worried the issues were with the actual devices, but after trying these I concluded the original cables were the issue, and not the reader or external. The cables from Tripp Lite fit perfectly, have given me zero issues, and the length is appreciated. I will say the USB-C end fits into my Macbook ports a little snugly, but that means I just have to be careful of how much force I apply when I remove them. Overall though, would highly recommend.

Works for western digital and sea gate drives on a Mac book pro with Intel processor. I had two drives that would not work with their included cable, this changed that allowing me to plug them directly into my laptop

Works great. I was tired of using an adapter for my MacBook Pro. I have a Seagate external hard drive that uses USB. This before I knew they made external hard drives for MacBook. I have used this cord and transfer speeds are still the same. I still have very little My only devices that have usb is my TVs, so I kept the other cord. I recommend this cord if you are tired of plugging in adapters(dongles).

Have an SSD drive in an external case that has the micro connection, not as fast as úsb-c to c, but better than going from USB 3.0 to a USB-C adapter to usb-c laptop port. Haven't tried with a platter style hard drive but should also work better than using the 3.0 to USB-C adapter.

It works as intended and is more convenient using a standard USB cord plugged into a dongle to connect my hard drive to my MacBook.

I use this to plug in my external hard drive to my laptop and have noticed an improvement in transfer speed over the standard Type A usb cable it came with.
