Turtle Beach has released the Atlas 200 gaming headset. This headset uses a wired connection to systems for low latency and compatibility. The headset features a built-in wired cable that has a 3.5mm plug on the end. The cable is long enough that I had no problems connecting it to my desktop, laptop, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox. It works on Xbox fine when I plugged it into the 3.5mm jack on my Xbox controller. The Xbox automatically began playing audio through the headset without me having to do anything else to get it to work. It worked really well with my Nintendo Switch. The sound quality was good and it worked just fine plugged into the 3.5mm jack on the Switch. The cable is very flexible and long enough that I was able to connect it to my laptop and desktop as well. The quality of audio is good, but could be made to be a little better. The headset also has a volume up/down dial that is easy to find by touch and works as expected. It’s lightweight enough that I didn’t think about having them on even after a 4 hour gaming session in Battlefield 6 on my gaming laptop. The mic is built-in and pivots down. I adjusted it to be in front of my mouth and it stayed in that position. It also has a windscreen that covers the inside of the mic boom where the mic is located which helps a little. I used the included 3.5mm to USB adapter after downloading and installing the Swarm II software. The software recognized the headset and allowed me to update the firmware. That is as far as it goes for the software. Swarm II didn’t give me any options for EQ or presets which would have been nice. Maybe that will come in the future. Final Thoughts This is a good lightweight headset. The fact that it has a 3.5mm wired connection means it’s going to work with just about anything. That also means that I don’t have to worry about charging batteries. The audio quality could be a little better, but at this price point, it is really good. To get better quality audio, you’ll have to pay at least double the price of the Atlas 200. This headset will work with just about anything that accepts a 3.5mm headphone connection. It will work with desktops, laptops, the Switch, and the Xbox. Turtle Beach says it will also work with the Playstation, but I don’t have one so I was not able to speak to that, but can confirm it works fine with a desktop, laptop, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox. If you are looking for a wired gaming headset that works with just about anything and doesn’t break the bank, then consider Turtle Beach’s Atlas 200 wired gaming headset.

[PROS] Superb Comfort: I would assign comfort level the letter grade of an A. I would best describe it as soft and lightweight. I was able to wear them for a long time without any bothersome issues. Limitless Connections: Despite recent advancements in technology, the audio jack is still alive and kicking. With the Atlas 200, I can connect to virtually any device through an audio or USB A port. That means that I’m able to enjoy the headset with my handheld devices like the Switch 2 and PlayStation Portal along with my home consoles such as the Series X and PS5 through their designated controllers. Excellent Audio and Microphone: This may be a budget option, but they still sound well despite the tier they’re designed for. Audio is crisp and properly projects the different environmental elements that you hear while gaming. What impressed me most was the microphone. Teammates were able to hear me loud and clear without any muddiness to my voice. [CONS] Missed Opportunities: If I could make any knock against the device then it would be for absent options. Firstly, it would have been nice for the headset to have come with a 3.5mm to USB C adapter. This would have provided an additional lane for connectivity. I can extend grace since this is an inexpensive part to purchase. The other opportunity missed is that I would’ve hoped for the headset to have been designed for a detachable cable. Cords can sometimes become frayed or accidentally damaged which would require a replacement. No one wants to buy another headset when a part can be easily swapped out. [MIXED BAG] No Third-Party Sound Technologies: The Atlas 200 doesn’t support “premiere” audio powerhouse features such as Dolby Atmos, Tempest 3D, or others. Instead, Turtle Beach uses what’s available in-house, and it works really well. Furthermore, implementing other audio technologies would’ve caused the headset to be more expensive which defeats the purpose of the targeted market. The Swarm II software is simple to use in making adjustments and the options are robust enough. I still have the ability to establish profiles, EQ settings, and other various audio configurations. [CONCLUSION] The Turtle Beach Atlas 200 is a fine headset despite obvious cutbacks. It's not an audio juggernaut, but that’s to be expected. You lack wireless capabilities, but there’s no need to obviously worry about battery life, bluetooth connectivity range, or dongles. I do feel like a removable cable design would’ve added value to the longevity of the product. Yet, it still sounds great and should be more than suitable to jump into gaming action.

Overall, I'm a fan of this headset. It's pretty simple - there's a volume control on one of the cups. That's it. It connects with either a 3.5mm aux jack (good for using with controllers connected to game consoles) or a 3.5mm aux to USB adapter (for PC). It's pretty great for circumstances where you don't want to deal with any complexity. While I'm not thrilled about having to install yet another separate Turtle Beach app, the Swarm II app does have some additional configuration options that expand on what this headset can do. For instance, there are options to adjust the microphone sensitivity and monitoring as well as mute it, you can configure the built in 3D audio (Waves 3D) for games, music, or movies, and there's even a balance between chat and game. There's also the Superhuman Hearing feature, which selectively amplifies footsteps or gunshots based on your preferences. What I do really like about all of this is that all of these options fit on a single configuration page. Honestly, it's kind of the perfect balance between features and simplicity for circumstances where you don't want to be too technical. The build quality of the headset is pretty reasonable - it's pretty lightweight, the mesh at the top feels comfortable, and the ear cup foam is really soft. However, the frame of the headset is a bit small, and even at maximum size it still barely fits on my head. The sound quality, however, is pretty good. I haven't noticed any particular issues with not getting bass or top end. After some testing, the microphone also seems to be reasonably good - I haven't run into any issues with audio quality with that either. The directional audio does seem to work decently as well. Overall, I feel like this would be a pretty good headset for a kid, someone who isn't technically adept, or situations where you don't want to use a wireless headset. The main thing I would watch out for is the size of this headset - if you have a particularly large head, you might not be comfortable.

The Turtle Beach - Atlas 200 Wired Over-Ear Gaming Headset for PC, Xbox & PlayStation - Black brings a new player to the field for immense sound, better spacial awareness, and effective noise cancelled mic for superior in-game communication. Comfort designed for the player in mind, the Atlas 200 is ready for all-day play without pain points for extended wear. The wired feature ensure no loss of critical information at crucial moments due to loss of connectivity or battery dying. I found the Atlas 200 to be a great wired headset from Turtle Beach. Having used several of their headphones over the years, this iteration was comfortable, the sound was on spot and brought a realistic depth to the experience, and the mic offered clear communication during gaming with others. The only downside is the wired aspect as I am not a fan of daggling wires getting in the way of the controller or keyboard. Other than this, which they are wired, they exceeded expectations. PROS - Turtle Beach brand, quality, and durability - Excellent sound - Over the ears helps with ambient noises - Comfortable for extended play CONS - The wire is a bit in the way depending on your needs, but no battery to run out! - Can get a bit warm on the ears over time - taking a break is aways a good idea anyway

They are almost too small for my head and fold the bottoms of my ears just a tiny bit. They fit my kids perfectly, so they have become my youngest’s new headset. They sound great and are comfortable. I love the lift to mute mic and having a scroll wheel for volume, though the wheel is a little hard to find until you get used to where it is. It is hardwired and the cord is not detachable. If your computer doesn’t have a DAC built into it that can handle 24bit or you prefer the swarm software for adjusting your sound and the 3d audio capabilities, there is an included Aux to USB adapter. I don’t love that it is USB A and not C as C would enable the headphones to be used with android and iPhone devices easier. With the right adapter these are completely universal headphones that sound great and will never die on you. They work great for gaming, and the presets to through the dongle definitely gear the audio more towards gaming than just using the Aux port. These headphones aren't bad. They sound decent; I like how they're wired (no turning them on and off every time); and they have volume controls on the actual headset. The adjustable headband is also nice. The headset doesn't feel like cheap pieces of plastic, which is nice to see at this price point. The mic on the unit I received was not working. I did have my own microphone, so I only took off 1 star for this. This may be a bigger deal to you. I do have some suggestions. Firstly, the volume controls on the headset should control the volume on the actual device, rather than being a second volume control. Secondly, it would be nice to get some RGB on it. Sure, it doesn't affect the functionality, but it would make the headphones look far better. There are also app controls for the headset. I found the app decent, but I did have some trouble installing it. Overall, these are some decent headphones. I would suggest these to anyone looking for a decent pair of budget headphones for their PC.

The Turtle Beach Atlas 200 Wired Headphones are designed for the serious gamer, that has a limited budget. In short, these are comfortable, light-weight, wired headphones that will work wonderfully on your PC or gaming machine. The headphones are very light at 9.7 ounces including the cable. The headphones alone weigh a mere 9 ounces. The headphones have 2 metal bands that run between the ear-cups. Surrounding that is a mesh fabric that has a cloth band running through it. This band is what actually sits on the top of your head, and is adjustable length to get the proper fit. The ear-cups are about 1 inch deep and perfectly fit around your ears. They are clearly labeled “R” and “L”, so you don’t have to guess which way to wear them. While they aren’t noise cancelling headphones, you will hear very little outside sound when you have them on your head due to the design of the ear-cups. The headphones have a swing down microphone. When it is in the up position, the mic is muted. When it is down, it picks up your voice very well. I would suggest a microphone wind screen cover to cut down on external sounds. Having one on also provides a little bit fuller sound while cutting down on external noise. When attached to your PC via USB, the headset is controlled through their Swarm II App. You can control the Master Volume, Super Human Hearing, Game Chat Mix, Chat Boost and Waves 3D. A simple description for Super Human Hearing is that you can select legacy, footsteps or gunshots. What the software will do is amplify the audio range at which those sounds should take place. As you are playing a game, you may not see on the screen that someone is sneaking up on you, but with it set to footsteps, the sound of footsteps should be amplified, giving you a small competitive advantage. Game Chat Mix Mode controls the level of your chat audio in comparison to the levels of your game audio. The setting you use will be based of which is more important for you to hear. Waves 3D is a simulated 3D audio for games that support it. The Swarm II application also contains a 10-channel equalizer with 5 presets. This equalizer allows you to control the sound levels at 10 different frequencies for both the headphone drivers and the microphone. Speaking of drivers, the Atlas 200 headphones have 50 mm drivers. These are much larger than the drivers in most budget headphones. The 50mm driver allows it to have a wider range of frequency response and better sound quality, especially at low volumes. Overall, I really love these headphones. In my opinion, they are the best budget gaming headphones that I have heard this year. I can highly recommend them for someone looking for budget headphones with the intent of using them for gaming.

In the box is the headset, a starter guide and warranty information booklet, and an auxiliary to usb-a adapter for any console users. First Impression - Opening the box, it’s noticeable that the headphones themselves are actually pretty light but the packaging made it seem like they’d be a bit heavier. Comfort - First time wear, they are noticeably gentle on the ears. It’s been awhile since I’ve used an over the ear headset because the extended wear just squeezes the most sensitive parts of my head and ears, however, this headset specifically is big enough that even wearing both a headband and glasses doesn’t bother me in the slightest. They are also the perfect size for any gamers using a standard VR Headset. I am also a user with very curly hair, and headsets leave the infamous dent. The cloth strap on the top doesn’t seem to disturb the shape of my hair even after a few hours of play. Another issue I tend to have is with moisture soaking in and damaging the band in my headset because my hair take a very long time to dry, but when I pull them off they were dry to the touch in just a few minutes. Hardware - As for the hardware, upon my first time using this headset my peers immediately noticed it was the clearest I’ve sounded in a very long time. I have a softer voice, so much of my audio comes through muffled or mumbled but even quiet noises I make out of habit come through clearly. Which I started doing more so out of habit, because the noice canceling capability of this headset is exceptional. When wearing them with even nothing playing, the fans on my desk become mute. And the sound itself is comparable to some of the top brands of over the ear headphones in my opinion. Explosive and loud, yet clear and accurate for when you’re really listening for something. Overall the Turtle Beach Atlas 200 Wired Gaming Headset is definitely a headset I will recommend to all of my gaming friends and family as their comfort is just unbeatable. They’re a great headset choice for anyone looking for comfortable wired headsets for gaming. I would purchase again.

The Turtle Beach - Atlas 200 Wired Over-Ear Gaming Headset for PC, Black is a lower end costing headset that can produce higher end quality audio performance. The 50mm Nanoclear Drivers produce deep bass and clear tone similar to more expensive headsets. Full 3D sound compatibility and 3D sound functionality are produced with the Swarm II desktop software. I can hear the faintest sounds within my video games. A single, easy to locate volume dial comfortably nestled on the underside of the left side of the headset is the only control needed. The construction of the headset is majority black plastic and foam. The ear cushions are made from memory foam and block out most external noise. The higher end feature of noise canceling is not available. The headband is elastic silicon that can be adjusted to produce a comfortable fit that will maintain its comfort for hours. The mesh fabric makes the arch feel a lot softer on the skull. The mesh of spongy fabric helps soften the impact of the plastic frame underneath while allowing the unit to sit comfortably on your head, There is a mic with flip-to-mute functionality that allows me to simply move the mic up and out of the way when I’m not using it. The positioning of the microphone can sometimes get in the way when it is in the upright position. The microphone is also able to pick up voice chatter crisp and clearly with no background noise mixing in. The Atlas 200 Wired Over-Ear Gaming Headset has its own USB Audio Adapter exclusive to the PC version, which allows for audio jack to USB conversions. The main positive points of the Turtle Beach - Atlas 200 Wired Over-Ear Gaming Headset for PC, Black are its sturdy construction, nice design, great sound, compatibility and its low affordable price. Those points are good enough for me to know I found a quality headset.

Audio was good, especially for an inexpensive gaming headset such as this Turtle Beach Atlas 200. Sounds in-game were clear, yet lacked any real depth. Voice chat quality was adequate; not terrific but not awful either. The minimally adjustable mesh headband is just okay, but the mesh design does allow for decent airflow across the top of your head. Also, since I am an eyeglass wearer, knowing that this Turtle Beach headset is “eyeglass friendly” is definitely a plus. With that being said, the memory foam earcups are covered in a ‘rough’ fabric material which may cause your ears to get hot if worn for extended gaming sessions. The earcups do not swivel or lay flat, which is fine. Just worth mentioning for those used to headsets that do. The microphone is the flip-up type; not detachable. A 3.5mm to USB adapter is included for this wired headset. I very much enjoyed using this Turtle Beach Atlas 200 headset with my ASUS ROG Ally handheld gaming console. Just plugged the headset into the 3.5mm jack and I was good to go! The audio mirrored what I experience on my laptop. Since the Ally is a Windows based operating system, I was able to download and install the Swarm software, same as on my PC. While not absolutely necessary, installing the Swarm software will give you more customizable options. Final thoughts - this Turtle Beach Atlas 200 gaming headset is lightweight, basic in design, with quality matching its price point. It’s very much ‘entry level’ but does a good enough job performance wise.

I got these wired headphones to replace a multipurpose set my son was using on his computer and Switch. This is a wired 3.5mm, but comes with a usb c adapter that gives this a bit of an edge over his old set on the computer. There you can download the swarm 2 app and then adjust some advanced audio settings like sound or mic filters/ enhancements to get more of a spacial sound or clearer speech. They have a useful quickstart guide that gives you the website to go to to download. The build is fair quality, soft satin like touch on the plastic, a breathable head band, light weight, and the seals are soft and work well. To mute the mic is simply tilt it up. As for sound, these get ample loud, and the clarity is very good. There is a good balance of treble and bass. Even without equilizer settings, they seem close to where I balance fancier sets of headphones with equilizers. The headband adjusts easily and are secure on my head or my son's when using it. It says glasses friendly, and they are accurate, no issues when I wear these. They do not push hard or make it hurt after an hour or two of use. I have no reason to deduct any points on these headphones. They are an upper low price point, and feature software enhancements to make sound and mic better for what you need them for, and are comfortable. This company has been around for years, and I've used their soundboard for years, and thus venture into headphones is a win. I reccomend them.

Turtle Beach used to be THE name in PC audio. They faded from the scene just a bit, but have resurged in recent years with their Recon, Stealth, and Atlas line of headsets. I have tried the Atlas Air wireless headset and found them to be unnecessarily difficult to operate due to poor control design and placement, and a viscerally uncomfortable fit despite their lightweight design due to an inordinate amount of inward clamp. The Atlas 200 is a far less complex beast in the Atlas headset lineup—and it actually has a lot going for it. In the end, I could not recommend the Atlas Airs on a blind buy, but the Atlas 200 is a different story. Bottom line, if you are looking for a budget-priced, no-nonsense, wired headset with few frills but absolutely stellar sound, the Atlas 200 should be in your short list. Construction is plastic…like…all plastic. But for the most part, the headset still feels well-built. I bent and twisted the headband and frame but did not get any sense of brittleness or creaking that indicated a “cheap” plastic build. There is a small amount of thick strain relief at the earcup and plug ends of the headphone cable which suggests it should hold up for some time under regular usage. The headphone cable itself is a simple rubber-clad wire with a 3.5mm combo jack on the end; it feels…fine…not over-built or braided, but not SO thin as to be worrisome that it will snap easily. The headband uses a suspension system with an elastic band distributing the weight of the headset across most of the surface of the head. Sizing is accomplished by raising and lowering the points at which the Velcroed ends of the headband attach to the fabric on the inside of the headset frame. It’s an interesting solution that helps keep the weight WAY down, and the headband itself is loosely secured to the frame with high-flow fishnet-style netting to keep any contact points across your head very cool. The earcups are huge…really massive looking, and the plush, memory-foam earpads are wrapped in a spandex or Lycra-type material rather than PU leather which would be certain to start cracking; the combination is pillowy soft and VERY glasses-friendly. The lift-to-mute microphone is captive; it cannot be removed from the frame, but it does lift and fold fully out of the way, and there is enough memory retention in the microphone stalk to adjust placement and angle for optimal pickup. There are no LED status indicators for signal or mic status—this is JUST a pair of cans with a wire. It almost seems quaint these days given how many wireless headsets I’ve gone through, but the wired design ensures compatibility with virtually any source that accommodates a 3.5mm combo jack. Mic sound quality seemed excellent with teammates reporting no thin, tinny, or watery-sounding voice reproduction. The included USB dongle is rated up to 24-bit/96,000 Hz resolution which is suitable for all but the highest of high-definition playback. The companion Swarm II PC client is not required, but it adds a small amount of functionality including a 10-band EQ with 15dB of boost/cut, and various adjustments for game/chat mix, dynamic chat soundfield, the somewhat dubious “superhuman hearing” effect that dramatically amplifies certain game sounds to improve awareness of background details, footsteps, etc., mic sensitivity, sidetone volume, and some 3D effects that were, in all honesty, just okay. Personally, I found the surround-sound effects from Dolby Atmos or DTS for Headphones to provide a much more convincing and immersive experience…BUT, it’s certainly better than nothing. The biggest concern, of course, is just how does the Atlas 200 headset sound? In a word—exceptional! There is enough deep, chest-thumping bass to satisfy most metal heads or gamers who play games that ‘go boom’, but mids and highs were also surprisingly clear, detailed, and well-rendered. High-resolution music in particular was simply sublime with strings, vocals, and acoustic instruments sounding realistic, lively, but not overblown or strained. Movie/media soundtracks were aggressive and dynamic with dialog coming through crystal clear. My only gripe, despite how well Turtle Beach kept the weight down, is that, at least for me, there was still just a tad too much inward clamping force—which was surprising given just how light and airy everything felt. Granted, I wear a helmet size 2XL so I guess my noggin isn’t necessarily typical of most users in the field, but it was disappointing, nonetheless. And, despite how large the earcups look from the outside, the openings inside the earpads themselves are fairly small, which left the pads themselves pressing in on the various portions of my outer ear with just a little more force/pressure than I prefer. The earcups themselves have about 10-15 degrees of inward/outward pivot, but the earcups do not adjust or pivot side-to-side at all, so the pressure was more pronounced on the backsides of my ears than I would have liked. I’m also just slightly concerned about the fishnet fabric surrounding the elastic headband—it’s light, thin, and seemingly delicate, which makes me wonder how much punishment it may be able to take before runs, tears, and holes start showing up. Still, for a no-frills, high-performing gaming-oriented headset, the Turtle Beach Atlas 200 really does deliver where it counts, with simple operation, feathery-lightweight build, and simply exceptional sound quality. Highly recommended if you are in the market!

It took me a few minutes to figure out how to adjust the headset to fit my head, but once I discovered the elastic head strap, it all made sense. The strap runs the length of the headband and is adjusted with Velcro tabs on each end, hidden beneath a soft mesh cover. This design not only keeps the headset lightweight but also provides evenly distributed pressure across the top of the head. The earcups don’t swivel much, but honestly, they don’t need to—the fit is so well-tuned that no further adjustment feels necessary. This Turtle Beach Atlas 200 model TBS-5002-5 includes their USB adapter that enables use of the Swarm II app that has significant audio enhancements, which I'll get into a little further down. I think it's important to note this up front as Turtle Beach offers another Atlas 200 model that does not include the USB adapter. For ten bucks more, you want this model. This is a wired only headset (no wireless connectivity) with a flip to mute mic compatible with PC, gaming consoles, and mobile devices. The headset is lightweight with a floating elastic headband and over-the-ear memory foam ear cushions. It's very comfortable, you hardly notice it on your head. The first thing you want to do is plug the headset into the adapter and then connect to your device and download and install the Swarm II app to get access to all the available settings and audio enhancements. There are separate Audio and Mic settings plus an equalizer and preset configurations. The Audio settings include Master Volume; Superhuman Hearing Off or ON and choose legacy, gunshots or footsteps; Game/Chat Mix; Chat Boost - Bold, Dynamic, or Active; Waves 3D - Games, Music, or Movies. The Mic settings include Sensitivity and Mic Monitoring (sidetone) to hear your voice through the headset. There are four presets - Turtle Beach Signature Sound (equalizer settings all zero), Bass Boost, Treble and Bass Boost, and Vocal Boost. I used a combination of Waves 3D ON for games, along with Superhuman Hearing-legacy, and the Treble and Bass Boost while gaming and it just blew me away. The sound was awesome- the Waves 3D gives you total immersion in the game. I play the War Thunder ground game with tanks and I felt like I really was in the middle of a war. The Superhuman Hearing provided extra fine sound detail. The sound quality overall is simply outstanding. I've used and reviewed many gaming headsets, and for its price this one is absolutely the best.

I have used Turtle Beach headsets before with my Playstation 3 and Playstation 4, but this will be my first use with the Playstation 5. The Turtle Beach Atlas 200 is a great headset, especially if you're playing for long lengths of time. The headset is snug but not too tight. One of my favorite genres to play are racing games and I'm currently play F1 25. Before this headset, I was just playing with the surround sound speakers in the room. This week, I have only using the headset. I have been immersed in my racing world with the headset on. Not only am I hearing more detail than ever (hearing the helicopter blades from overhead blows my mind), but even the sound quality from the game soundtrack is so crisp and clean. I can even heard the engine sounds of other cars more clear and I can tell which side the other car is based on which headphone is picking up the car sounds the most. The playstation 5 controller allows you plug the headset directly into the controller. So while the headset is wired, to me I still consider it wireless as I walk around my room with the wireless controller with the headset plugged into it. The headset also comes with a USB adapter if you chose to use it for a PC as well. The thorough test was over the weekend. A full 90 minutes of racing from practice to qualifying and racing. My ears never got hot or sweaty and there were no issues with the headset and my glasses for the entire timelength. I'm happy to be back using Turtle Beach headsets again for my online racing career.
