Customers are impressed with the sound quality, comfort, and value of the EAR FORCE Recon 30X gaming headset. Many found it lightweight and comfortable for extended use, while others appreciated its affordability. However, some experienced compatibility issues with certain devices and reported that the chat volume could be low. A few also noted that the fit wasn't ideal for all head sizes.

This headset is great. It is a great replacement for the ones that come with XBox One. The only downside is you may need to purchase a newer controller for it to work with your system or the headset adapter "puck" (another $30 ish).

Exactly what I was looking for

These headphones are exactly what I was looking for - good quality sound, very comfortable 1-ear-cup, durable connectors and mic boom. As mentioned in another review, these headphones don't come with the audio controller/adaptor... Awesome! They use a standard 3.5mm headphone jack which is half the reason to get them...
When I first tried them out I thought something was wrong with them because they were so quiet... don't worry! In the settings panel for each controller there are now volume controls available when a headset is connected. Turn the volume all the way up in the XBOX settings to have effective volume control on the in-line dial.
Enjoy!

Its Comfy

First off its really comfy and can go over both ears. the only drawback is the output speaker sits about an inch away from your actual ear making its not a loud as it could sound. I don't know why nobody ever talks about the actual output volume on these kind of headsets. It also has holes around the output speaker so you can hear whats going on in the room which causes the sound to leak out even more. persoanlly i filled it with some clear caulking i had laying around and its fine now.

Going to give 5 stars so everyone can see this. I got it as a Yule gift and does not work in anything that I plugged it into. Says you can use in phone,pc,xbox1,ps4,tablets etc. Nope not a single one. Also Called the company and they said that If you have a 3.5mm plug on xbox remote you don't need the adapter and still not working. Crackling the moment we plugged it in. Buy something else don't waste money here.

Good headphones for the price, not so loud, because, there is a space between your ear and the headphone, but still, is a great purschase.

Does not come with Audio Controller

Bought this and was really excited. Come to find out it doesn't even work with the old controllers! Almost no one has the new ones, so why make this headset only for them?! You have to buy the audio controller separate which is an additional $24.99. BUT they don't tell you that except for at the back at the VERY bottom. On the front it says it works with the new controllers, but NOWHERE does it say it doesn't work with the old controllers. Absolutely ridiculous.

I purchased this headset because I got sick of the Microsoft headsets dying after 3-6 months every time. I didn't want a two ear headset, so I thought this was a safe buy given that it's made by a reputable brand. Immediately when you put it on, you'll notice how stiff the ear cups are. They're extremely uncomfortable because there is no padding, it's like a hard foam material wrapped in fabric. The plastic part that goes over your head is pretty tight as well. The 3.5mm cable that goes into the controller sits kind of loosely, I would imagine it can break easily if you mistakenly push on it. Overall, it's incredibly uncomfortable and the quality of it is so-so. But it gets the job done. I'll be surprised if this lasts longer than a year though, seems pretty poorly put together. If the constant breaking of the Microsoft headsets weren't an issue, I'd buy those at the same price than this.

This was a great alternative to the Xbox's standard headset. Sound is okay.
