4 Stars; one of the few completely wireless headsets for XBOne and one of the most affordable, but lacking a bit in comfort.
Sound quality is very good, I can't complain a bit about it. Two completely independent volume controls for voice and game audio, so you can tune it as accurately and (more importantly) as loudly as you like. No more mouth breathers or gum chewers blowing out your ears when you have the game audio cranked. Need to keep it quiet because the baby's in the room sleeping? No problem. I haven't tried any of the "advanced" settings.
Battery life has been decent so far; I usually game for 2 to 3 hours at a time after dinner a couple nights a week, one charge will last me nearly the entire week and I never get a low battery notification. I can't say how long they last in one shot, but I doubt anyone is going to run them out, even in one marathon gaming session.
Fit is good, the headband is snug (maybe a little too snug for my big head). Earcups are a synthetic leathery material and I don't care for it. Coming from the Sony Wireless headset with it's super plush padding and soft pleather, and older Tritton headsets with the fabric foam surrounds, these are stiff and just not as nice feeling. I haven't checked to see if I can replace the surrounds, but once I think about it I'll probably see if I can swap them out for something softer.
Mic is good, though placement is tough; with the shape and where they plug into the 'phones it's right near your nose, so if you're not careful about placement you'll be breathing on the pickup or popping your 'P's pretty loudly. Not to mention it can get in the way of drinking/eating. If you're able to talk a normal to loud volume you can keep it clear away from your face, but if you're in a quiet environ you'll have to get it in close and mind your p's.
Overall I'd say they're worth the money if you're not looking to drop big money on a headset. Sony's able to do it at $100 for the PS systems, why hasn't MS or some other company figured this out for XB?

This headset is at a great price for what you get. Being all wireless with no chat cable anymore is really nice to have. The voice prompts are really nice to have as well. The only issue I have with this headset, which might make me return this is. It has a auto turn off feature that you can't turn off. It basically shuts off the headset after 10 mins of no audio or chatting (to save battery). My problem is, with this hooked up to my computer with that phone cable that comes with the headset. I always get a voice prompt saying the headset is going to shut off, please press and hold the power button to cancel this. It is really annoying because I am listen to music on my Itunes account and I have no idea why this wants to shut down when there is music playing. The only way to get rid of this is to play your music really loud on the headset. Otherwise it will want to auto shut down. But on the Xbox One it is no issue. Also when I use them on my PC for listen to music, I disconnect the mic. This issue really needs to be fixed. It's driving me crazy. lol But if you can live with the auto shut off feature, then you will be fine with this headset. Its a good gaming headset for 129.

This is a very good headset. The sound is really good the mic and voice chat work really well and it is very comfortable to wear. Its wireless but can also be used while charging and when not charging it has atleast a dozen hours of wireless play upto 15. its also a light weisght unit and doesn't feel cumbersome even after hours of use. The build quality is also pretty good. Overall I'm very pleased with this headset I use it for all my multiplayer and single player gaming its a very good product and I highly recommend for people who spend a lot of time on their xbox, as you can also watch movies and apps with this headset so its not just for games, again I highly recommend this headset

Decided to test these out at the store after going through 2 unsatisfying headsets already and have to say I'm impressed.
It's easy to set up (plugged it in and turned on xbox...done!), light weight and doesn't crush my huge head. The true wireless makes it easier to move around the house without having to lug the controller around and it feels pretty sturdy.

These headsets were exactly what I was looking for! I was waiting for an excuse to purchase a new pair of cans for my xbox, I would use the communicator that the xbox came with because I have a high end home theater and with a family let's just say I didn't have much time for gaming as much as I used to or at least there wasn't anything that hooked me like there quite was in the past. Until a new game came out and I started catch up with old friends online and then my communicator stopped working. Before I went back to the store ready to spend whatever to get the experience I was looking for, I glanced online, read some reviews and even read a few different magazine articles. As a self proclaimed audiophile, I was never a big fan of "digital surround sound" or "stereo sound". I thought if you used one, you've used them all or just another way of getting different price points out of the same product. After speaking with the associate (which by the way knew his stuff on gaming audio mostly based on customer feedback) at the store and checking out a few floor models, I was completely blown away when I got home with the Turtle Beach 420x's. They are the perfect blend of immersive sound and mic checking. I thought I would never have to turn down the game audio to anything other than max but these phones can really BANG! The audio presets are perfectly calibrated. Bass is strong and the mic monitoring is not even close to overpowering. TO TOP IT ALL OFF THEY 100% WIRELESS! Great job turtle beach you guys hit a home run on this one!

Before I bought this headset, I owned the Turtle Beach XO Ones (and before that, a Turtle Beach set for the Xbox 360 based on IR tech) but, I was looking to go completely wireless. Thankfully, the Ear Force Stealth 420X headset fits the bill. The set up was very simple: just plug in the USB drive into the USB port on your Xbox One console and it works right away! The quality is awesome (which has been my experience with the previous two Turtle Beach headsets I've owned). Note: this is not a surround sound headset--it's stereo. But, again, the sound is awesome. Playing Star Wars Battlefront, I can hear the ground crunch beneath my feet on Sullust. Get this Turtle Beach headset. You will not be disappointed.

Best Wireless Headset for Xbox One

This is my 3rd Turtle Beach headset I have owned, but the first for the Xbox One. This by far has been the best one I have chosen. The sound quality is excellent. It has different modes of sound to choose from depending on what game you are playing, separate dials that control game sound and voice chat sounds.
The headset is very lightweight, I wear glasses and they don't push down very hard on the frames. The battery life is great, but if you do need to charge they do charge quickly and can be charged while still using. The install is a USB stick and you are done, no more messing with those silly transporters they use to use.
This by far is the best wireless headset I have owned to date.

I've used Turtle Beach headsets before so I've had a good amount of experience with them. I can honestly say this is the BEST one I have ever had. It is completely wireless and on a full charge it last for about 6-8 hours before it needs to be recharged. I tried the Astro A50s and I feel like these are better especially for the price. If you're looking for a good headset I'd highly recommend these.

I read a lot of reviews online before buying these. The headset is incredibly light weight, has amazing sound, and has very good range when you walk away from your Xbox. No static and easy setup. The only issue I did find is minuscule is the charge cable is small. So if you need to charge your headset while using it you might as well get out an iPhone charging block and an extension cord.

I was having issues with my Xbox One wired headset that connects directly to the controller. While I have issues with my controller disconnecting, it was even worse with the headset connected. This was a bit more expensive than I wanted to pay, but I had several rewards and gift cards stock piled so I got it for about half price.
What's Great:
- Headset was easy to setup. It uses a USB dongle about the size of a flash drive. I just plugged it into the side USB port.
- No issues with the headset disconnecting even when the controller disconnects. While my controller still disconnects, it's been better.
- The headset will actually say that it's charging when you plug it in, or that it's fully charged, turned on or turned off.
- They're really comfortable. I've worn them for several hours at a time and I didn't have any discomfort
- As long as you have a micro USB cable, you can charge these anywhere.
What Could Be Better:
- The game volume control and chat volume control could be better and in different places. I've found whenever I take the headset off, I accidentally lower the chat audio. Very minor inconvenience. You just have to remember that the game volume is higher up.
- Mute button could be better located. Again, very minor inconvenience.
These are only stereo but they're great. Probably a bit more than most people want to spend but they are a truly wireless headset. I'm thoroughly pleased with them.

Before buying this model, the 420X, I bought the top of the line - and more expensive - model, the Elite 800X. The 800X had lots of bells and whistles which honestly, one would rarely use. From day one, I was constantly resetting, pairing with the XBox often, etc. Until one day when it just shut down. I took it back to Best Buy and was about to switch brands, but decided to go with this less sophisticated model, the 420X. I've been using it for about 2 months and have had absolutely NO glitches. The sound is good, and it has independent chat and game volumes, which is a must for me. I must confess the sound of the 800X was slightly better, including the surround which to me is helpful when playing games, but the amount of issues made it too stressful. I spent more time messing with the headset than I did playing...

Although some reviews may state the sound quality isn't the best, I think the sound quality is excellent. They are extremely comfortable for multiple hours of gaming. This is the best gaming headset I've owned. For the price it's a deal for a wireless headset.

These are my first pair of turtle beaches and it by far has been the best choice I could've made in headphones, I don't possibly see any way to top these. The sound quality is so great that I'm hearing sounds in games that I've never even noticed existed before, it feels like I'm playing the game for the first time with such rich sound and amazing clarity. The headphones do a great job of allowing you to raise in game sound and voice chat effortlessly without being a pain or distracting during game play. The fully wireless feature was the main reason why I purchased and there's no complaints there. The only one complaint I have about these which I feel like it might just turtle beaches in general from trying other models in the store is that they can be a little tight on your head, but it doesn't prevent you from using them for extended time.

I bought this and the Afterglow AG9 at the same time. The AfterGlow headset was horribly uncomfortable and was instantly returned. The 420x is comfortable for a few hours of play but after that the pressure against my glasses starts to bother me. The sound is good for stereo and I can crank up the volume to hear the footsteps of my Call of Duty victims. I wish they would have placed the mute button on the side because its hard to find if you want to quickly mute yourself. Overall, it's a good wireless headset. No wires = Tittie$!

This is a great headset for anyone looking for a quality full wireless headphones. The sound is great for a set of stereo head phones , of course the 500x sound better because they are surround sound but that's to be expected. The really nice thing with this headset compared to older models is that they now have independent game and voice chat controls instead of being a give and take between the two. The volume controls are well placed , my only gripe is that they are easy to turn up and down when taking off the headset but this is hardly a deal breaker. The only reason I knocked off a star is because they aren't as good as its surround sound brother ( priced at 229.99) but if you don't care about that then these are a 5 star headset.

The setup couldn't be easier. Comfortable for a couple hours of play. Sound is very nice. Would of given 5 stars but for the price I want surround sound. Overall I am happy.
